Sunday morning April 17,2005

Postby LilMsTexas » April 17th, 2005, 3:25 am

Goooooooooooooooooooood Sunday morning everyone!!

I just love being the first on the forum on roll call mornings. It's a necessity for me so that I actually have to time to myself before DH and 2 boys get up and I'm herding everyone towards church

I am down 3.2 for the week and that brings me to a total of 18lbs in 6 weeks! I'm not exactly RACING :drive: to the finish line or anything but I will take a steady loss and be VERY happy about it :yippee:

It was a real blessing to be under 170 this week and now I feel I'm on track for being at a 20# and possibly more loss by the end of the 2nd month. Although I was hoping for 20# in the first month when I began Medifast, I have learned that my body just wasn't made that way and struggling with my diabetes sugar levels the first month really slowed me down I believe. But today I am 100% healthier with COMPLETE control of my diabetes and COMPLETELY off of ALL medication!!! :cheerleader: and 18#s lighter!!!

I'll be back off and on all day to cheer you all on and see how all my new family of friends are doing for the week! God bless you all on this wonderful Sunday morning!!

Congrats my Texan friend!!! You have been an excellent example for me in the whole diabetes and MF program! I am kinda miffed that I am at the same weight this Sunday as last Sunday. I have stayed off the scale so I don't know how or if I fluctuated over the week. I am one pound away from the 20# club!!! GRRRRR!!!! So I may go back to daily weighing to see if I am going up and down a lot of what. I didn't have perfect compliance this week..I ate more protein than I was supposed to some days, but no booze! I will just try my hardest to be 100% compliant and trust the process.

Good job Biki!

Postby LilMsTexas » April 17th, 2005, 4:13 am

Good morning Biki,
I want you to be prepared for some slow loses now that you are on the medication as well. Diabetes medication can often slow weight loss as our body is trying to figure out how to readjust to the new insulin usage/storage. BUT........the good news is that with some weight loss and some really good compliance and NO ALCOHOL I am betting that you will ALSO be off of the medication in a short while! Then you will see steady flows of flabage melting down the River of NEVER-AGAIN-LAND and just be living in the Land of THINNY-MINNY-Ville!! Please give yourself permission to deal with your diabetes for a couple of weeks and take what losses or "stay the sames" that come your way. You've done GREAT this week by having no alcohol and for THAT you are to be congratulated!! :cheerleader:
Have a great week and get on the diabetes forum and post some of your glucometer readings and lets see how you're doing!!

Christi, way to you with 3.2! That's just wonderful :D You'll be in that 20# club before you know it! I know what you mean about wanting to have that first 20 done for the first month. I too am realizing that, while 20 the first month would have been super, my body just doesn't let go THAT fast, no matter what I do and am accepting that. I'm thrilled for whatever loss I have at this point. And while I don't lose that fast, it's still a heck of a lot faster than anything else I would have been doing!

Biki, hang in there! It sounds like you did well this week. It sounds to me, though admittedly I'm no expert, that your bod is taking a break and re-adjusting. It'll go and the next thing you know you'll be saying, wow, how wonderful I feel! And you won't give this week a second thought!

Ok, I finally made it to the 10# club. Wahooooo!!! I'm down 3 lbs this week and am just tickled. :D

Good luck to everyone today and have a wonderful week!!!!

Good morning everyone! Great job LilM! You are doing great! Angelia & Joyce -welcome to the 20# club! We're thrilled to have you here! We're saving a spot for you ljm - already in the 10# now moving toward that 20#! And Biki - just staying away from alcohol was a major hurdle! You are fighting many battles here on this journey - congrats on all you are accomplishing.

I myself had a weird week. Stayed compliant and on Thrs. was down .5 lbs but this morning back up .5 lbs. So same as last week. But I am not discouraged as 4# last week was HUGE and I am now on some antibiotics that may be doing something funky to me. I also have had a bit of a stressful week with another one looming in front of me. I also have come to expect these stalls as I seem to be cyclical, so no worries! I know I am doing well on the program and will just forge ahead!

Good luck to the rest of you and here's to a new and beautiful week in front of us!

Congrats to all our losers this week!!!!!!!!
Great going LilM! Controlling your diabetes is SO AWESOME!
Angelia and Joyce WELCOME to the 20 pound club!! WOOHOO!!
ljm, WELCOME to the 10 pound club!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!
Biki, Hang on there and be 100% true and next week that scale will go DOWN !!
Doglover, Those antibiotics may well indeed be messing with you!
Last week's 4 pounds was indeed awesome, so I am sure next week's scale reading will be LOWER !!
Well as for me I had a good week, but after having major oral surgery on Thursday, I am on a liquid diet through today and no lean/green meal in my near future :( BUT I have a BRIGHT new smile!!) And better health due to getting rid of some unhealthy choppers! I figured since I was losing weight and getting healthy it was time to address this health issue as well!
I lost 5 pounds this week and that takes me too 96 pounds GONE BABY!!
4 more and I will be in the 100 pound club!!!! I also just realized that I now have LESS than 50 pounds to lose to hit my goal :D :D :D
Ok Now I am off to put the
ice bag back on my face and sip my crystal light breakfast

Good morning all! And a big impresive wow to LilmsTX... To be off of your meds, must feel really good. Congrats to all of you who are posting your losses also.

As for me I have stayed the same this week, which I will gladly take. I have had a hard time this week staying on plan. I have missed the number of MF meals I should have and ended up substituting low carb meals here and there. I also enjoyed icecream one night for dinner! Not sure what is going on with me that made it so hard this week. I guess it is time to review my MF book. And I have paid for it physically as well. The icecream made me sick to my stomach afterwards and I have been tired most of the week. MF gives me so much energy, and I feel so good on it. Maybe I needed this short lesson... So pray for me or send good thoughts my way this week.

Blessings all, Bess

Good Morning everyone!

This is such a great way to start the day and week! I love seeing how fantastic everyone is doing.

Lost 2 pounds this week - looking forward to the 50 pound club next week!

Mary ~ you are so awesome! I read your posts (new and old) all the time, I can't wait to be right there with you! I'm half way to my 100# club so please save me a spot!

For those dealing with diabetes ~ you are doing great! My mom is on the program and has gone from a size 22/24 to a 12! Her recent bloodwork was super fantastic. Her A1C was almost normal!

MF DOES work!!!

Wow! Sounds like everyone is doing well this week. Good going!

I'm down about a half pound. Was hoping for a lot more...maybe next week. Have a good week, all!

Not compatible?

Postby Laramedifast » April 17th, 2005, 6:33 am

Well, while I'm happy for all the big losers this week, I am not one of them. I was down significantly last week, but this week actually went up a pound by my scale. Normally, this wouldn't bother me that much, but I have really been exercising and have been compliant except for yesterday's slip in the midst of my 50 mile bike ride. I guess deep down I'm wondering if MF and my lifestyle are really compatible. I absolutely have to be active. I walk at least 3 miles a day with my husband on the days that we don't bike and our bike trips vary from 20-50+miles daily. Now, I am also in the midst of my TOM which may have contributed, but how frustrating is it to be burning so many calories and not see the scale move?? That's when I say MF is probably too restrictive calorie-wise and is defeating the weight loss process for me with my high calorie burning. I have lots of MF food left here so I'll continue to do it until it's gone, but I must say I am discouraged. Ah well, at least I am more active that I was 20 pounds ago!
