Many experience the sweet taste, some a metallic taste, some a poopy taste and some no taste at all. This time around, i fall into the no taste at all category but i have had the slightly sweet taste previously. Many people complain of the "ketosis breath", picture DRAGON! luckily, i haven't had a problem with this but after eating some supplements, i have a sour taste in my mouth (esp cream of broccoli) but i usually go brush and am good to go!

Intersting, Ovarychick! Thanks for educating me! I do *on occasion* have a slightly sweet taste (noticed it this afternoon) but I think I've always thought it was the Diet Dr. Peppers - - and, who knows, it may be :)

DAY 7 - Compliant

Today's weight = 203
I have been sitting in the house all day long. I wasn't in the mood to get out in the streets because it was supposed to snow and it did. I live in Seattle so snow here is a joke - meaning...with all the HILLS people just do retarded stuff out there when they know they ought to stay inside. Funny thing is after I stayed indoors I realized a lot of other people probably did too and I should have gone to the mall and did a little Christmas shopping.

Oh well...

I did get a lot of things done around the house and I looked at the christmas decorations but put them back in the closet. I don't really like doing the decorating thing and I totally blame that on my mom...she never let me help her when I was young and now I hate it. I guess it's because she MADE me help her take it all down when Christmas was over. LMAO!

Anyhoo...I tried to make those cracker things with the Tomato Soup and it flopped. I give up on that one. LOL! I'll just drink the remaining soups and not order it again. I still haven't tried the Wild Rice chicken one but I'll get around to it this week.

My arms are SOOOO sore from lifting all that stuff yesterday. I thought they would feel better this evening but they don't so I didn't do any pushups today. I did get in several sets of sit ups but wasn't in the mood for anything else.

I guess people miss seeing me around. It's sort of strange to me that so many of my friends called today trying to get me out drinking or they were inviting me out to dinner. Quite honestly, I feel too good to mess up a good thing. I'm also NOT hungry so I really didnt even give it a second thought. One of my ex boyfriends called today asking if I would fix him dinner - the nerve! LOL! How do you call someone out of the blue asking for favors? As we talked more I found out his latest girlfriend moved out this week...so I guess he is rebounding. :| I PASS.

With week #1 almost coming to an end I thought I would note one thing that stands out. I have had no heart palpatations and my blood pressure has been NORMAL. COOL BEANS!! It's actually a nice relief because my pulse is usually pretty high and when I go to sleep at night I feel as if my heart is racing - well NOT anymore! I hope it stays that way.

I plan on working out starting week two. I really can't take not working out. I just have some strange fear that everything will turn to mush...and I can't have that. I feel like I have to take advantage of all the protein in my system and build some musle. The scale will work itself out in the long run...I'm not going anywhere. I don't plan on doing hardcore workouts but just getting in some lunges, squats, pushups, situps and leg lifts every day. I may walk but only if its not raining.

I did much better on my water intake today. I added some cayenne pepper to my MF Hot chocolate and boy oh boy was that ever a nice treat!! It was just what I needed on this cold snowy day.

Tomorrow is bowling. I have a lot to do in the morning but I will check in with my weigh...it should be about the same as it is today. I hope to hit 185 by the end of the month. *crosses fingers* I haven't mastered doing the math on the weight loss stuff yet so I just hope. I weighed 197 back in July but I couldn't get under that number to save my life. I guess my eating was too chaotic and I know I wasn't getting the proper rest I needed then either. Things are different now so I hope I see 197 and wave bye bye to it some time next week.

My face looks alot better...not slimmer mind you, but better. It just doesn't look so bloated and oily.

Today I was thinking about the law of weight loss...you know...first on last off or last on first off. That would mean that my legs will start getting smaller before my tummy does. I hope my breasts go down a bit too! LOL! I like the twins, but they do tend to get in the way sometimes.

Anyway... it's been a good day. Tomorrow is weigh in. I hope everyone had a great week!!

hmmm...im still stuck on the cayenne pepper in the hot chocolate! Trying to figure out if i am going to try that combo tomorrow. Did you add it for the metabolic effect of cayenne? Or was it for the spicy hotness on a cold day?

Livelyovaries,

There is this really expensive coffee/chocolate shop downtown Seattle that makes a chocolate expresso with cayenne! It's so yummy, probably because I love spicy things! It's also good because the added heat helps to warm you up! I missed having one so I made my own version.

I made a Mexican chocolate cake with cayenne in it. Very tasty. In Mexican cooking, there is also a sauce for meat, usually chicken, that is made with poblano peppers and sometimes has chocolate in it, called mole. I like the kind with chocolate best! My first social faux pas involves chicken mole. I was 5 and at a wedding reception in Mexico City. The table was covered with a large white crocheted table cloth so delicate it looked like lace. I got mole sauce all over it somehow. My mother didn't get angry with me but apologized profusely to anyone who would listen. Mole sauce is almost as dark as Hershey's syrup just a little more red and I made a HUGE stain.

Day 8 - Compliant!!

Weight = 203.2

Down 7.4 for the first week.

I suppose I'll take it although I was a little disappointed it didnt' drop a bit more last night. My stomach feels and looks smaller to me. That big bulge that usually sticks out over the top of my pants is gone....yet my waist is only a half inch smaller. :| Strange. I don't mind really as long as I'm not bloated! I feel good too so what the heck.

(BMI) 37.1
Waist to Hip Ratio 83 %
Body Fat 98 lbs 48 %
Lean Mass 105 lbs 52 %

I have to pick my grammy up and take her to the store and run a few errands...then off to bowling.

10:00 pm

Well the rest of the day was great. I drank A LOT of water today which was quite surprising. I did run to the bathroom a lot and I'm starting to think that will never change.

I made it through my second week of bowling without drinking alcohol (duh right?) and I must admit that not only did I NOT miss it, but I am quite proud of myself for not really giving it a second thought! This is soooo cool! I bowled really well but my ball slipped off my fingers a bit...I'll have to watch that! Hopefully they don't get smaller...I'd hate to have to get that ball re-drilled. My fingers aren't that big as it is...we'll see.

Work tomorrow should be interesting...it will be fun to hear all the stories from the Holiday party. Usually there is someone there who makes a fool of themselves...

Today's weight = 204.2 :x (although the first weigh in said 203.6 - go figure)

This is sort of sucky I tell you. Not a BIG deal really but I just have a nagging concern about the carbs and sugars - especially the sugar. Normally I don't eat high sugar foods and have always avoided labels with it listed. It seems like drinking all that hot chocolate is doing me in as well as the puddings. I just want to keep an eye on things moving - no matter which direction be it up or down because, well it's a long standing habit.

I am only taking in shakes today plus the L&G...if I have something hot it will be green tea.

I really don't think I'm the type of person who can lose weight without working out. Sitting around sucks. I guess I'm just not an inactive person.

I'll be back when my mood improves.
