BUMMER, Indeed!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it comes tomorrow!! If it doesn't come, you can always start by low carb-ing if you're not already. If you get your carbs low enough you can get into Ketosis and then make it easier on yourself when your food arrives. I did that a few days before my food arrived and my first 3 days were a breeze. I lost 3.something pounds the first day on plan and had lost 3 or so in the days prior to that (my ticker only reflects my actual MF loss for the purposes pf accuracy - - I'm a detail oriented freak of nature :) )

Good luck and I do hope your food arrives tomorrow!! Where do you live?

You should also be able to check the tracking info from your order e-mail and see where it is. If not, give Nancy a call and she can do that also.
Hope it gets there tomorrow. Maybe there were just too many birthday packages going out for delivery here in California ( ;) ).

The time has come. I AM HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!

My food arrived at 2pm today so I went into work to pick it up from the mail room...I was able to avoid most of the staff but the gal in the mail room asked me if it was diet shakes! WHAT?!?! I played dumb and never answered, in fact I just changed the subject.

No need to start rumors...or they'll all be convinced that I'm slowly committing suicide by doing this plan. I tell you most people never really give you good encouragement for any plan, let alone one most do not understand!

So it appears as if I have some reading to do. ( THE SECRET IS OUT) I will read it today and tomorrow and I think I will start on Saturday as I initially planned. Friday, I'd like to do some deep thinking, finish the book and plan some meals for the month so I can pretty much grab and go!

:| One disappointment, although not a huge deal - I wish the little shaker cup had markings on it for the 3/4 cup, 1/2 cup and 1 cup. When I'm at work I have nothing to measure with and sometimes when you're off on the liquid (water) amount it alters the taste of things. So more than likely I'll measure some things out and mark it on my own.

Today I spent the better half of the morning at Les Schwab Tires getting new tires, rims, shocks and an alignment! Can we say "STOP SPENDING MONEY GAL!!!" Geez! That wiped out another chuck of change from the bank account and I guess it's time to slow down so I will have money for future orders of MF! LOL!

I am soooo excited!!

All I can think of is shrinking. I just feel like I won the lottery and nothing has changed in my life yet! LMAO! I guess I'm just a silly girl (woman) :o

Well, I need to get some of my holiday dinner started. Now that I know my food is safely here I can relax a bit and enjoy reading TSIO.

Saturday is the big day and I can't wait! ;)

EXCELLENT!! I'm so happy for you!! Good luck on Saturday! You're smart to read up on everything so you're fully prepared!!!

Oh - there is a larger shaker cup that you can purchase (you can drink out of it too) and it has measurments on it. You might want to pick one up with your next order. I bought one for when I travel but mostly find that I don't use the shaker cups at all because I blend everything in my bullet (best purchase EVER!). When I am on the road I tend to stick to the RTD's. OMGosh I love those things!

One more thing - - when my package arrived the first time I spent a bunch of time sorting items into groups for each day. That way I could just grab and go......but, I found that I didn't like everything and then I had to go back and dig that stuff out - - then I no longer had the food boxes so I couldn't return, bla bla bla. I just wanted to share that with you - - I found it to be a royal PITA for my first month. And to be honest, these days I only eat a few items so there is no need to sort, lol.

GOOD LUCK!!!! I'm thinking you know where yo go if you have questions :).

I just noticed that the two shakers that came with my first MF order both have measurements on the side. I just started the program in October - - I wonder why yours are different.....Things that make ya go hmmmmmm...

The ones that came in my first order had markers on them, but the most recent order did not. I just used a Sharpie and put in a 1/4 cup, then 1/2 then full cup and marked as I added. Takes some time to do it the first time, but it works in the end.

Thanks for the heads up, I think you are probably right because judging by what I know of myself and how overwhelmed I felt about the contents of those boxes...I sort of prefer the shakes! :? The soups will also come in handy but the rest of that stuff may not ever get much use. I am still contemplating putting in another order for more RTD shakes as I type this message.

I am trying to think about this optimistically and try EVERYTHING that was sent...but I'm sure the next order will be drastically different. I am super thankful I didn't order the starter kit! With that said I'll pack my goodies the night before...and take it one day at a time.

My cousin is still talking about doing this too, but she really didn't sound like her head was in it. (excuses and what not) I told her to see how things turn out for me and how I do on the program and decide later.

Anyway, I am reading my book and cooking some Collard Greens and waiting for the turkey to thaw. At least those two items can be used later on in the week (although I doubt that there will be any collard greens leftover).

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!!

We were just notified (HA's) that they are currently out of marked shakers until December 1. The new orders will have unmarked ones and then they will probably send out marked ones once they come in.
Personally, we prefer the Ultimate shaker which is more like a sport bottle and has a little sifter in it it help mix everything better.

Tomorrow is the big day!

I didn't start today since I'll be weighing in tomorrow and feel as if I would like to start on a weigh in day. I also wanted to do something - and that was enjoy the holiday with long lost friends and relatives. But I promised myself I would make a note of how I was feeling while doing it and record it here - so there would be NO misunderstanding of how overeating really makes me feel. Also, I'm sure I won't miss how I felt this morning.

So...Wednesday was cool. I didn't really eat much that day because I was cooking. Thursday morning I got up and cooked the remainder of my Thanksgiving meal and had turkey for breakfast. *so far so good* I cooked candied yams, collard/turnip greens, cornbread dressing, ham, and macaroni & cheese. (no desserts, but I did have a hot chocolate chip cook w/vanilla ice cream) Well I'll be d@mned if I didn't make one of the best macaroni & cheese dishes that I've ever EVER made! Initially I didn't taste anything since I drank so much water and I literally felt full soon as I ate more than a few bites of dressing and greens. But I went to my good friend Vanessa's house (and took both pans of macaroni) and we drank Cabernet and all sat around laughing and chatting it up. Soon everyone started talking about my macaroni dish...and I remembered that I hadn't tasted it yet. So I did. It was DELICIOUS to say the least (thanks Paula Deen!). I had a nice BIG helping of it. Then took one of the pans back home with me because my daughter was upset that both pans were given away. :| Friday morning I had a FULL plate of Thanksgiving food since I really didn't eat/taste everything the day before. Friday evening - a repeat of the morning.

Today I woke up and I felt something I haven't felt in a long time. TOXIC! Bloated and full of water. Sluggish. Yucky. Fat. HUGE. I hate having that TOXIC feeling...it's hard to describe but you feel like you are full of water and feel like you're on the verge of a really bad headache all day long. Too much salt and too many starches in my system...my kidneys were probably ready to kill me. My ankles have retained so much water it's unreal! Last time they did that was in September when I flew 5 1/2 hours on an airplane. My whole body feels TIGHT and not in a good way. I drank a lot of water but since I hadn't drank a lot over the past couple of days...my body just HELD it all in....laughing at me the whole time! Another signal that things are not right...I go to pee and despite all the water I've been drinking not much comes out.

*SIGH*

Needless to say I am still drinking water and I am sort of THANKFUL that I indulged the way I did. I have No regrets really because it was a much needed reminder of all the reasons why I am doing this plan. I certainly won't be cheating once I start - that's for sure! Who enjoys feeling like I did this morning? Who wants to walk around looking bloated? Who really wants to look like they do not care about their body or health? NOT ME! I haven't been finishing what I started lately...and this will give me reason to start a trend to reaching all my goals!

For a brief moment today I got scared. I don't know why but I did. I went grocery shopping and all I bought was bottled water, straws, Crystal Light, nylons, and green beans. My grandmother looked a little puzzled when I met her at the car, she asked where all my food was. LOL! I just smiled and told her I wasn't really hungry and we didn't need much food at home. I'm just not ready to talk about this right now. I guess after tomorrow when I get underway and start feeling good about the plan I may talk about it more. But then again, I may not say nothing until some time in January - simply because I just don't feel like hearing anyone's opinion. My grammy has a SHARP tongue and can be quite mean. :?

This evening I will do a salt water flush. I'd like my system to be a little clean before I get started. I haven't had much to eat today besides water. My meal this morning wasn't the best but it wasn't anything like yesterday. Lunch was nonfat milk and a piece of turkey. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about what I plan to eat tomorrow!

I have bowling tomorrow at 5pm but I plan to go for along walk after my second meal of the day. It will give me a chance to think. I want to do the 100 day cheat free challenge!

Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) 180 bpm 30 b/10s

Food for Thought
I love today's quote and couldn't have started the day with a better one. Last night I found one of my old "hard copy" journals that was about a diet journey I was on back in 1993. My weight then was 153 pounds and I was in a total panick over it. Today I'd gladly weigh 153 pounds with a 31 inch waist and 26% body fat! But I'm not there and if truth be told I'd still be over goal with those numbers.

I spent the better part of yesterday logging in the nutritional information from EVERYTHING I received from MF into Sparkpeople dot com so I can track my intake along with exercise. That took quite a long time but it is worth it.

Rewards
None yet, I'm just happy that I have the MF food here...not feeling like rewards are deserved at this point!

Health and Wellness
I am pretty calm and well rested. I feel good about my decision to start Medifast and I feel completely at ease with where my mindset is. I have no apprehensions and I am still excited about all the plan has to offer and right now I'm looking forward to next week's weigh in.

Exercise
Squats, pushups *skipped the 2 mile walk for now*

Sleep
I was up late reading last night but once I went to sleep I slept well.

Reflections
I have to say I love using the straws for both my water and for my shakes! I guess I really never used straws since I don't like soda pop...and just don't recall ever using them that much. But it's helpful and I drank a whole gallon of water yesterday! :D I really love the taste of the chocolate shake!!

Daily Acknowledgment
Meals:
9:00 ~ Chocolate Shake
11:00 ~ Cream of Tomato Soup
2:40~ Chocolate Shake w/ instant coffee
6:05~ RTD Chocolate Shake
8:00 ~ 6 oz turkey, mixed greens w/dijon mustard/olive oil
10:15 ~ Vanilla Shake

8:22pm Today went well and I am most proud of the fact that I had no temptations at bowling!!! That was the best! I noticed that I felt a little strange not being as FULL as I would normally have been, bowling with my belly sticking out. I guess that is the biggest incentive - not having that "too full to move" feeling...and no gas!

On to day 2!

Sounds like you're off to a great start, congrats!!!!

Just an FYI on that walk - - if you were walking before you should cut what you were doing in half (and maybe you did but I wanted to mention it). If you weren't walking before you'll want to hold off until the end of week three while your body figures out what the heck you're doing and makes adjustments :)

ok c, you burned A LOT of calories trying to get that info into sparkpeople. im so glad you are off and running. your head is definitely in the right place, sounds like you got it together, fully charged! After reading your post, i visited the site and started an account. There was sooo much information, i decided that i had to save it for another day (didn't have my measurements ready, etc.) There are tons of links EVERYWHERE and i guess i couldn't dedicate the time this morning to do it. i will return to complete it, probably tomorrow evening. Erica,

One good thing about Sparkpeople is that now that I've entered in all the info you should be able to find it on a search for the same foods!! *see...I did all that work for both of us!*

I love the site and it tracks all forms of exercise for you...yard work, walking, cleaning, running, skating, etc.

I actually need to go log into my measurements there too. :|

 By the way, this tomato soup is disgusting! GEEZ!
