I was responding to a post in another thread and realized, this is perfect for my journal so that I can remind myself of these things when I struggle.

I've been working on losing my weight since July of 2003. :couch: I lost a bunch (160) then regained 50 before starting this program. I've lost and gained on this program (lose 5 gain em back, lose em again) but thats because I have trouble staying with it 100% all the time. :deadhorse: I go through phases where I am happy with where I am for a while (some whiles are longer than others). :idontknow:
Currently, I am tired of being where I am. I keep having the intention of sticking to it, its a complete mind thing. Sometimes I really wish there was a brain surgery that could fix this. :hammerhead:
Lately I have felt really good about myself, which is in turn the whole basis of sticking to any program. :kool: If you don't have good self esteem, you don't really care about being healthier (at least in my own personal experience).
My plan is to stick with it until I am at my main goal so that I can maintain that and then have my excess flab removed. I am ready to get there at this point. Please pray that I stay in that mindset. :bighug:

Hi Mike,
I am restarting again and admire your perseverence ! Perhaps if I had stayed the course as you, I would be able to report big losses. But for me I focused on my DH who was out of work and gave myself the excuse to eat ! What a disaster ! Now I am heavier than ever and have to start from scratch !

Don't give up !!! You can do it !!

Hey Mike - I've just kinda been surfing around this site the last few days, and even though you're having some problems, what you have accomplished is outstanding. You're one of the people whose profiles I see and say "damn... I wish my ticker looked like that!"

Anyhow, good luck with the program and such.

Oh, and one question - Why under your picture is it the 60# club when you're over 150?

Apparently when I was responding to a post that Robin posted in here (which was a response to new century) my server went down in the middle of posting and somehow her post was deleted. I apologize Robin.

Nonetheless, Robin was letting newcentury know that I had gastric bypass which is how I started on this journey. I lost 160 lbs then regained a big chunk of it back. I then started Medifast (TSFL) and have lost all that I had gained back plus more. I wholeheartedly stand by TSFL and Medifast as the better means to health. Gastric bypass is a tool that many (including myself) misuse and suffer because of it. If someone is considering having it, I would suggest trying this program first and see what results you get from this first.

Well, I am back on track. Day 3 of my umpteenth restart.

I know I will feel so much better when the weight is all off, and I know that I will be a better role model for my clients as well. :dooh:

So, here is to summer, and to compliance, and to getting things done. :whoohoo:

Good job, Mike, on the restart.

And I was just reading a study that said that most gastric bypass patients have tried an average of 24 diets before having the surgery. They said their success on diets is a predictor of their success with the surgery. Because too many people think it's a quick fix and don't realize they'll still have to stick to a diet after the surgery.

When I first started Medifast, I met a woman who had had gastric bypass. She was thin, but she said she spent her whole day eating small amounts of beef jerky and candy. She'd buy big bags of each at Costco and keep them in the car, and just munch all day long (she was a closet organizer, so on the road a lot). Nice that she was keeping the weight off, but talk about unhealthy!!
