Erica,

I bought Hemilayan Crystals and they soak year round in water which makes SOLE. I usually have about 20 ounces of water with some of the SOLE added to it.

I think the equivelent would be 1-2 tablespoons of water to the same. I drink it room temperature and it usually works in about an hour and a half. Unfortunately, it continues to work for about another hour and a half after it begins so I never plan to do much for a couple of hours.

I like using this natural method rather than over the counter methods.

Just remember your body does not absorb the salt...nor the water, it all come back out in the wash if you know what I mean.

Day 16 - Compliant

Today's weight = 199.8

So, I'm all about monitoring...and I guess it's just a habit. One thing that is on my radar right now is watching to see if it's a pattern that when I don't do the minimal amount of a workout...the scale stays completely still. This is a good time for me to make note of it if that is what is truly happening. I had so much to do this weekend I really didn't dedicate any time to the workout tapes like I do during the weekday but I'll be getting a nice little power walk in during my lunch hour and a full hour workout when I get home tonight.

I am going to throw that entire pork roast out. I don't like how I feel after I eat it and I decided this morning that I am not going to force myself to eat it. I will buy more turkey and just continue to flip flop between turkey and chicken.

I saw my shrinking co-worker and she looks soooo good that I am just in AWE every time I see her. She is so thin and healthy and looks like she is at goal!! I'll have to shoot her an e-mail later on today and talk to her and see how she is doing. I really can't wait to be in "her shoes" so to speak!

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good idea ... if it makes you feel uncomfortable don't eat it. Look where "The Clean Plate Club" got us!

One of the wonderful things about MF is that it does help you pay attention to our body's natural response to food. Since I've been on maintenance I've noticed that every time I overdo carbs (especially sugary foods) I feel sick to my stomach. I've even awoken with what feels like a hangover!!

Carrie, do you like fish? Shrimp is very low in calories and an excellent protien source. I also ate a good amount of salmon during the weight loss phase. Don't worry about the fat content, you do need some to process nutrients. And when I had a craving for RED meat --- I'd eat a steak (still do). It's amazing how when I gave my body what it needed (not to be confused with what I thought I wanted ;) ) I would have a substantial drop in weight! :D

Hiya, Carrie!

Nice Avatar!!! It's so nice to see your beautiful face!!!

Congrats on day 16! Are you finding it easier and easier to remain on plan? I know the more on plan days I string together the better I feel and I feel better prepared to deal with life and the obstacles that tend to try and get in our way!

I hear ya about the monitoring! I weigh daily and track everything for that reason and it has helped save me in the past. I realize I'll have to do this for the rest of my thin days but if that's what it takes...

Keep your eye on your shrinking co-worker and know that before long folks will be keeping their eyes on YOU! Isn't that a terrific feeling?? I love MediFast! For the first time EVER, I KNOW I will reach my goal! I can't wait to get there!

MerryMary,

I'm glad you agree with me because I just can't see myself eating that pork roast out of guilt. I paid $16 for it and I know people are starving somewhere else, etc., etc, etc, but I simply do not want to eat it. It doesn't even feel as satisfying as the turkey and chicken did.

I did stare longingly at the shrimp yesterday when I was at Safeway but the first thing that came to mind at that moment was shrimp drenched in butter! Today, however I am thinking more clearly and would actually LOVE to have shrimp with a little olive oil and red chili pepper sauce on it!! YUMMERS! I do like fish but find that I can't do that every day like I can turkey. Normally I don't even like chicken much but it's so easy fix a lot in bulk - so I stick to it.

I love red meat to death!! But for now it's saved for unplanned outings (restaurants, dinner obligations or work lunches that I have to attend). I LOVE steaks of all kinds and I seriously feel that is the main contributor to my weight gain...because rarely did I eat a 8 oz steak, they were more like 12 to 14oz! LOL! At least I didn't pile on the steak sauce (that's a no no) but I could not eat a steak without really HOT horseradish!!

I do agree that I do give in to protein/meat cravings when I need to...just to feel good and normal. [b]Speaking of which, are we allowed regular eggs??

Thanks for the reminders though...I will explore the shrimp thing later on this week! ;)

Thank you Kym!! I decided it was due time to show my face since I wasn't really hiding in the first place. I would have shown my BODY but that is a little too much for now, maybe I'll do that when I have some nice "after" photos to put up along side them.

I love MF too! I feel the same way you do...that I have finally found the magic bullet, the golden ticket, or the pot at the end of the rainbow. Nothing I've ever tried has made me feel the way I do on this plan. I have never changed to an eating plan and still felt SANE while doing it. It's so refreshing that at this moment I can't think of not doing it each day - even if in the future it's only for two meals per day!! I feel good. :D I walk up the flights of stair here in the office and don't feel like my heart/chest is going to explode! I feel CLEAN as I've mentioned before and I am so calm and happy. I think it's amazing how the balance of carbs has staved off my cravings for pasta, bread, rice, potatoes and most importantly - ALCOHOL! I never before made a connection to carb addiction and the overuse of alcohol, but I'm convinced now that there is a link.

I sent my shrinking co-worker a note telling her how wonderful she looks and thanked her for inspiring me to go forward with my decision to try Medifast! It's the best choice I've made in a long long time.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are feeling better!!!

You can have regular eggs or egg beaters - - how much and how often depends on what you eat. Check out the handout for Lean Options on the tsfl website. I'll try to post the link:

Hope it goes through. I LOVE having egg beaters cause you can have so much! I like the southwestern ones with veggies - yummmm!

Well this is great news!! I love eggs and don't want to go too long with out an omelette. I thought we could only have the MF eggs, which did not look good at all! Now I know what I'd like for dinner tonight!

The MF eggs aren't bad - - but there doesn't seem to be a lot of them, lol. They actually cook up like the real thing - - but I'd prefer egg beaters to them when I want 'eggs' because I like a of them! I add salsa and pretend I am eating a breakfast burrito :)

Have fun!

Day 17 - COMPLIANT

I had a long long day today and feel tired. I went into work and forgot to weigh in this morning. I suppose that is no big deal...and I'm not really the kind to try weighing in the evening so tomorrow morning will have to do. I do believe the scale may still say 199. LMAO!

I took the MBT's to work with me today and walked UPHILLs for a half a mile and then another mile around and I will tell you that those dang things really do work your calf and hamstring muscles!!! My intention was to come home and do the SLIM in 6 workout but everyone else was already home so I decided against it. I'm sure I'll be sore enough tomorrow without it so it's fine just the same. One of the partners I work with laughed so hard at the sight of my MBT's!! He thought they were the funniest looking things he'd ever saw and seriously could not control himself. I think they are funny looking too, but not like that! LOL! Silly man.

I will get a long walk in tomorrow at lunch too because I have a IAAP meeting tomorrow after work and wont get a work out in AGAIN. Luckily I have a friend on the committee who was nice enough to get me a special meal...so I just have meat and asparagus! *I  asparagus!*

I did my best to get my team (at work) gifts today and hope I didnt forget anyone. It sucks when you think you did a good deed and find out that someone is unhappy. I have only been the lead for a short time and hope to keep my team happy!

My meals were mainly shakes today. I needed a break from all the puddings, soups and hot drinks. I really think they cause stalls but I'll give it one more time before I fully convince myself of that.

I called my mom in Oklahoma to see if she had power only to find out that they were at the Casino! My sister said mom found out the casino had power and HEAT and went there to burn a hole in her wallet until the power came back on. *SMH* She tried to say we sent the bad weather that way but I reminded her that the bad weather originated from Hawaii!

Well, I am tired today so I am turning in early.

Hello Chynna! Thanks for stopping by and nice meeting you as well.

SO you do SLIM in 6 too eh? I have been doing the Ramp it Up and Burn it Up tapes since the workouts on their are intense and work the thighs, glutes and abs a lot. (all my trouble spots)

I do notice that on days that I do NOT excercise I get no scale movement. Granted, it doesn't go up, but it certainly does not go down either. I have such a busy week this week that I may not get in proper exercise until Sunday! I plan to make up for it next week and really hit the exercise and cardio hard before I get to my 30 day weigh in. (28th day actually).

Anyhoo, thanks for the compliment and I hope to see you around the boards!
