Starting over at minus square one!

Postby mama2benandrachel » October 18th, 2006, 3:30 am

Hi everyone,

My name is Judy, and I'm starting day 3 of my MF re-start journey. I lost over 50 lbs. on this program, then I fell off hard! I gained 70 lbs. back. I am sad, ashamed, but also humbled by the wonderful work people are doing on this list.

Take care and God Bless,
Judy <><

Hi there! I remember you from earlier this year. You've done the right thing to come back to Medifast.

There are several active members of this forum who can attest to the fact that if you stick to it, you will succeed with Medifast!

Hi Judy:

Welcome back  As you have probably seen from reading the posts there are many of us who have returned to the program because we know it works...Me for one....My problem is that i should have continued reading and posting after I lost 20 pounds but I wont hopefully make that same mistake this time...hopefully....

so glad that you are back amongst friends and supporters.

Hi Judy,
Did you know you are in the majority??? Not the majority of MF users but the majority of ""dieters" 65% of all "dieters" regain their weight and generally add abit more. . I always laugh when I receive the post cards from WW (yup I tried that) that say "come on back". They know the statistics too. The fact is simply "diets don't work".. it has to be a lifestyle change. There is no magic solution... we just have to eat the right things and watch our portions. That's exactly what we're teaching you to do. Eat 6 small healthy meals each day. Once in awhile when you are on maintenance you can splurge .. just not everyday :D
I know you'll part with those pesky pounds and then please go thru the transistion program and on maintenance. Did you know we even have a Maintenance call each week to help you? The members share their challenges and their victories. Plus they share yummy maintenance recipes.. What could be better.
I'll be watching for you. You'll make it

If you compound feeling guilty for being overweight with the crushing defeat of regaining weight we've lost previously, it's true that almost everybody here has lost a battle or two. We win by picking ourselves up and starting over. We win by refusing to remain unhealthy and unhappy.

Welcome back.

Welcome back!! I too am on my second "real start" on the program and will be for life this time! In between my first attempt at which I lost some weight and this time, I "tried" to re-start about a hundred times. The difference between now and then is that I made a choice to be totally committed to losing the weight once and for all and be as healthy as possible. I needed to forgive myself and move on. The key is to never quit! I know you know that. We are here for you !!!!!

Keep shakin'! :cheermed:
