Friday is our Home schooling year end bbq. We have a home schooling group that meets in my home once a month.

Saturday we have a bbq to wrap up our couple's ministry..."A Biblical Portrait of Marriage"

"I don't like eating"......

Postby HappyHomeMaker » June 14th, 2007, 5:21 pm

Can you believe I have a friend who said that to me? She doesn't "like" eating...My friend was a dancer, ballet to be exact. You can probably figure out why she doesn't like eating.

Besides the fact that she has a great figure after having three children...I was also wanting to feel the same way about food.

Why is it that some people can "eat to live" and some "Live to eat"? I've been praying for the Lord to change my heart about food. I keep telling myself. " I don't like to eat", " I don't like to eat"....I figure if I say it enough....

Who do you think made you want to eat so you wouldn't starve? He's the one who made you. Somewhere along the way that desire got off kilter and needs to be realigned with what it was intended to be.

From what I've gathered from my Bible studies....

Yes, God made me and doesn't make garbage..."I am fearfully and wonderfully made"...and yes the Lord gave us food, but in HIS Word we are admonished to not be gluttonous.

There IS an "enemy" who will use anything and I do mean anything to tempt us and get us off track...But, It is our "Free Will" to be obedient to the Lord or not to be.

Alas, I've been disobedient in this area....I take full responsibility.

There is always a battle with the "Flesh"...mix that up with what the "enemy" will throw at us and there is a recipe for disaster...Praise God my faith, hope and Trust is in HIM...

Ok, i'm done rambling.

We are on the same page on everything I believe. This is what I should have said above... we all should take responsibility for getting to where we were and give thanks for the strength to Him for getting us to our goals now. My goal is to be a temple for His service... and by His grace, I will get there.

Thanks for the advice Biki. I don't drink diet soda, although I LOVE It...so when I felt like cheating yesterday I drank some diet soda...wow!! It was soooooooo good.

So I did good yesterday. I did have some extra food, but it was NO CARBS...I had an extra hamburger. I wasn't able to keep up with my medifast meals so I'm pretty sure my calories were low. I wasn't hungry after the extra burger so I didn't eat. All in all I did well.

I can tell i'm losing weight. My hubby hugged me yesterday and said "Wow! I can feel that you're losing weight already." I can also tell because my thighs are rubbing together.

Today is another bbq, but this one is small and not quite as much food. So i'm intending to stick with my Medifast supplements ALL DAY!!

On another note: How do you all keep up with my posts? I would love to be able to post on your journals and encourage you too, but I'm not sure when you post? Anyone wanna help a newbie??

You hit the "New posts since last visit" on the upper right hand corner and all the new posts come up.

I am sorry but this is not doing "well". Medifast supplements are packed with nutrients you won't get from an extra burger. The point of MF is 5/1 so that you can be fully nourished and lose weight while staying healthy. We could all lose weight for a while by cutting our calories and eating lo-carb but that is not the goal of Medifast. I don't mean to sound harsh but I am afraid you are starving yourself. I want the best for you.

Thanks Biki,
You're right, perhaps it wasn't the "Best", but in the past I would've eaten wayyy too much and thrown myself way off the "Plan". SO for me it was a victory...I take vitamin supplements and glyconutrients on top of my Medifast supplements so my vitamin intake isn't a concern for me. So maybe I didn't do "Well", but I did "better".

Three BBQ's in one weekend is wayyyyyyyyy too much for me!! sheesh...the self-control I need is hard!! What a test...If I can get through this weekend and stay on "the wagon" then I'll be a happy camper.

Today is my weigh-in day...I'm down another 1-1/2 lbs I'm happy!!
I was able to fit into a pair of pants today, that I couldn't fit into last week. They were too tight, I could close them, but they were very uncomfortable...NOT THIS MORNING!!! They fit great!!

I have a question about the Soy Protein in these shakes and supplements. I actually stay away from Soy and soy based products. The processing of the soy is a concern for me. I've been experiencing some , i'll call them hot flashes...and NO i'm not menopausal...i'm only 37.. :D Has anyone else experienced these? Someone mentioned and i've read in my nutritional studies that soy can mess with our estrogen hormones? Anyone know if this is true?

Glad it was a vitory for you, I was just trying to be helpful. I supppose all of us have had those points where we would have gone way off plan before and were able to limit ourselves or stay compliant. Congrats on the loss.

Laura,
You are doing well, and it sounds like you maneuvered those BBQ's pretty well.

Biki did a great job coaching you too. I'm still trying to talk her into becoming an HA... but for some reason she hasn't yet.... (this of course is being said as another form of encouragement Biki ;) )

Hope your Sunday went well.
