Dog Bounty Hunter Wedding Last Night

Postby ladyhawke » August 9th, 2006, 7:05 pm

Was so sad...his beautiful young daughter died in a car accident the day before he married Beth.
Anyone see it?

I taped it and watched it tonight. I cried. Cried for the family and because I love weddings.

Did they just get married? I don't really watch the show that often, but I assumed they were already married.

It was one of his older children - she should have been 23 or 24 depending on her birthdate.

He has something like 14 kids.

Most locals, including me, don't think too highly of the "Dog". The "Dog" was convicted of and served time for murder in Texas. He claims that his name came from the word "GOD" spelled backwards. I don't watch the show, but while working for a non-profit a few years ago I encountered many of "Dog's" clients. I feel he exploits poor minorities who are typically addicted to drugs - bails them out when they should be put into a drug treatment program - not just bailed out and set free. Most of their bails are revoked because they fail (no big surprise) and their families (children, parents, etc) suffer the fall out (i.e. pay the bondsman) with money they don't have. And this is entertainment?

The daughter that passed, died while commiting a crime, she had a serious drug problem and the "Dog" hadn't been in contact with her for many, many years - yet - he made a production of her death at his wedding?

Sorry - just my perception/ opinion.

I don't really care that much about the show or him, but it should be noted that he served time for accessory to murder, not murder. He served his time, so I have to give him the benefit of the doubt that he has been rehabilitated.

I guess I have to take his side on the bail thing as well. As a bondsman, your entire job is posting bail for people to get out. It's their responsibility to get help, not his.

If I was in that business, I would probably do the exact same things. If you deny people because they need help, you're going to be out of a job rather quickly.

I saw him explaining hs name "Dog" on Montel...he said when he was a biker all the names were taken and that the other bikers gave him the name "Dog" because he was loyal.

From what I understand the daughter was a passenger in a stolen car when it crashed...too bad she had a drug problem and came to that end but she was the mother of a young son and she was still his daughter and a human being.
