Oh no, my Bullet!

Postby Sablebaby » July 2nd, 2005, 7:55 pm

My wonderful Bullet............. She died today............ Time of death....7:29 pm............... It was a tragic death............ I was making a Diet Coke vanilla shake.............. I guess I used too many ice cubes................. I heard a weird noise.................... I immediately came to her rescue...................... But it was too late................ She was gone................... One of her blades broke off...............

MB had a great life, even if it was a short one. She had her own counter. Lots of room to grow. She was only here 2 weeks. I guess she just wasn't meant to live a long life.

We will be having a memorial service for her before I take her back to Walgreens. You all are invited.

Oh, no! That's too bad! I have had to occasionally pull my MB off the base and give it a shake as I feared such a thing happening.

May your dear MB rest in peace. ;)

How very sad
Can you use crushed ice in your new one? Maybe cubes are too big for it? I used crushed ice in mine and so far so good. I did have a scare one day as I didn't realize you could "lock" it on if you twist the cup and I couldn't get it to stop blending! But I figured it out and did not burn up the motor, thank goodness!

TK-
Make sure your gasket is tight in there. I've had to push mine in a few times, and just recently (after 4 months of use) had to replace the gasket as it was loose and got chewed up by the blades. I also have to be sure I have it twisted on really tight, too, or else it will leak. Still love my bullet.

You may just have to replace the gaskets. You should have gotten two when you purchased it.

Well, I got my MB replaced today. If I have another problem with the MB than I will get my money back and buy a nicer blender. I have always bought cheap blenders that last a week. Does anyone have any recommendations on blenders, just in case? I was thinking that the $60 I paid for the MB might buy me a nice blender that will last. <img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_28_113.gif' alt='Confused' border=0> But for now I will start using crushed ice and see if this one will last longer. I was using ice cube tray filled from my drinking water that I like. I filled the trays up halfway so the cubes weren't too big, but sometimes they were on the bigger side. I know that's got to be why the blade broke completely off!

On a different note, I just tried the oatmeal cookies. They were really good. I used baking soda instead of powder as that's all we had. I used half the water than was in the recipe as it was the right cookie consistency. I think I used a bit too much splenda, but I always like my food sweet, so that was ok. I really like trying new things. I am so happy that I ordered a bunch of samples to try. :D That way I can see what else I like and not buy whole boxes of something I do not like. Now I will put in another order on tuesday for a few additional things like choc pudding, maple oatmeal, and apple & cinn oatmeal. :bounce:
