This has been a long week. I came home to start the process of selling my mom's house and we have a long way to go. All the floors throughout the house have to be redone. We also have to update the kitchen. But I suppose it could be worse. Thank goodness for my uncle and my dad who helped me clean out the house (even though my brother was supposed to have all of this done weeks ago).

Other than stuff at the house, I spent the week finishing up one last assignment for a class, shopping, visiting family and spending time with my mom, dad and puppies.

My mom was the only person all week to say anything about my weight. Today she said "you've lost some weight." I told her how glad I was that she mentioned it because no one else has. She said she noticed it earlier in the week but didn't say anything.

I planned to leave here on Thursday but since I'm not leaving until in the morning, I didn't have enough supplements for 5 a day. Some days I had 3, some days I had 4. I tried to add extra calories in my lean and green by having a little more protein. Before anyone says something about that not being compliant, please realize that I'm not claiming that I was compliant. I had the option of leaving Alabama without doing everything that I needed to do or have some days with less supplements than others. I chose the latter. Since I don't have my scale here, I'm not sure what I weigh "officially" but the scales at my dad's house have been going down consistently. I will post my weight for the week Monday morning.

It sounds like you've been as compliant as is possible under the circumstances and that you've done a wonderful job of sticking to the program. That takes a lot of willpower and forethought when you are away from home, especially for an extended period of time. Many people don't do that great of a job of planning even when they are home (pointing a finger at myself :) ).

Life is filled with choices, Queenie--and sometimes we have to choose between two very good things. I admire you for your discernment and for what seems to be a very honorable choice!! :D

Thanks, ladies, for the support. I am back in Wisconsin and now I'm able to have 5 supplements a day again. I now know that when I go home again, I should have enough RTDs for 5 a day. I was out of the house most of the day so I needed portable things.

I drove closer to the speed limit than I usually do on the way back due to the increase state patrol presence for the holiday weekend. I thought I left too late and drove too slow to make it to the Coach outlet in somewhere Illinois before it closed, but luckily I got there maybe 35 minutes before closing and found a nice baq and a couple of wallets. Hopefully the bag is large enough to carry as a school bag. I love how losing weight means that more of my bags will fit better under my arm instead of slipping off or not fitting comfortably.

Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, I lost 5 pounds last week +1 day. That means I'm in the 20 pound club! Yeah baby! See me dancing? I'm a dance dance dance dance dancing machine! Watch me get down...ok I'll stop.

I went to Curves for the first time today. It was much harder than I expected. Fortunately, when I called to set up a time to come in, they told me they were doing a fitness study and that I could come for 4 weeks for free if I commit to workout 3 times a week. Sounded like a great deal so I went in today. They took my measurements and weighed me and I was so surprised when I got on the scale. Of course, I weigh all day every day, but it was different to be on an "official" scale with all my clothes on. The last time I was on an official scale was when I went to the doctor's for my ear infection exactly one month ago - May 5th. I was down 14 pounds from then. For some reason, that seemed like so much even though I know I've lost 23.5 pounds. Seeing the scale drop 14 pounds from one visit to the next has more impact that those daily weigh-ins where I might lose less than .5 pounds.

Anyway, I think the 4 weeks will be plenty of time for me to decide how Curves works with MF for me. I think I'll like it, but the atmosphere was a little unfriendly because people didn't seem to be talking to each other. The manager was really nice and helpful, though. I'll let you know what happens after the 4 weeks.

I completely overlooked this question, Chynna!

This summer I'll continue to work as a project evaluator which is what I do doing the school year as well. I'm also teaching a chemistry class for 3 weeks for a pre-college program on campus.

Other than that, I'm trying to figure out (hopefully I will actually find an answer this time) if I'm going to do a PhD/JD or just a PhD while I'm here. I don't think the dual degree will add more time but it will make the rest of my time here much more hectic. We'll see...

That is a great deal at Curves!

I'm impressed by what you are doing this summer and in getting your degrees. The word chemistry conjures up scary images and you understand it well enough to teach others this summer.......yikes!! (good for you!) ;)

I am equally impressed. In college I fulfilled most of my science requirements with classes like "Aids, Biology and Society" and "The Biology of Human Nature" and I was an anthro major~!
