Thank you, ladies for reaffirming my reasonable side :)

And, Hi Chynna :) Thanks for stopping by to say hello. I hope your daughter continues to improve.

Tonight I put away the all the seasonings that have salt and used only Mrs. Dash for my l&g. That was my goal for the day - to use salt-free seasonings and to up my water in take. I drank 4 liters today! Woohoo! I even walked for a little while today. All in all, a pretty good day.

Hi Queenie!! Thank you, and yw:+)
You're on'a roll girl. You are doing SUPER :-P I like Mrs. Dash porducts too, especially because of my hypertesion, however the Medifast has lowered that alot. did you know that Mrs. Dash has meat marinades too? I tried the Herb & Garlic one but didn't jump up and sing The star Spangled banner tho..LOL! If i use salt at all, it's usually Morton Lite Salt..it's kool!

4 liters of water...that's great!!
I haven't started exercising since i started the program on Feb.23.. but will soon!

Keep up the GOOD work!!

Sooo...I got a new scale on Sunday I think it was. I'm adding to my collection. A visit to the doctor about 2 weeks ago prompted my latest purchase because I was heavier on the doctor's scale than I had been at home. So I bought a new scale. Sure enough, I've been consistently weighing about 3 pounds more on the new scale than on the one where I recorded my start weight.

The excellent thing about my new scale, though, is that it always gives the same reading even after I step on it a couple of times in a row. My old scale does not do that and I'm always trying to think of ways to trick it into reporting a lower number. Can't trick my new scale. But I don't know how to adjust my start weight since the amount higher than my old scale is not consistently the same. So maybe I'll just round it out to three pounds higher. That makes my start weight around 251, which is actually lower than the numbers I was seeing a couple weeks before I started MF when I was eating everything I could think of. Then, on my old scale, I was as high as 255.

This is all too much. I should just pick my new scale since it is at least precise. So my adjusted start weight is 251 and my current weight is 35.2. Down 15.8 pounds in a day under four weeks.

I thought I would add some things that I'm grateful for in no order of importance. I'm grateful for:

-dutch chocolate shakes, RTD chocolate shakes, cappuccinos, blueberry oatmeal, maryland crab soup, tropical punch, oatmeal raisin bars, banana shakes, chicken and wild rice soup, chicken noodle soup, tomato soup and anything else in a little white packet or shiny green one that has helped me lose these past 4 weeks.

-my last paper for the semester being due today at 5!!!!

-makemethinner forum and the lovely people who told me my tastes would change and that I would lose weight

-my family, especially my dad, who will be proud of me when I get home tomorrow and tell him I've lost 16 pounds since the last time I saw him

-my mom and her improved health and care at the new place where she is living. She has Parkinson's and she now lives in an assisted living facility where she is getting outstanding care.

-the interstate system because it will make my drive home tomorrow easier!

-and finally for God's grace and mercy sustaining me even when I'm not doing all that I can do.

If 15.8 pounds makes me this grateful and reflective, I can't wait to see 50 pounds lost!

I know your dad will be very PROUD of you, and your mom too..bless her heart.

What kind of scale did you purchase? Everytime i go to the doctor it always shows a HIGHER weight there, than at home..lol!
I ended up buying a WW scale...i love it.

You be careful on the interstate tomorrow in route home..not only watch out how YOU"RE driving, but watch out for how OTHERS are drivng as well...so many crazy folks behind the wheel these days!

Hey!.hope you get an "A++" on your term paper:+)))..i was a professor ya'know..LOL!

Didn't mean to write so much!

Thanks for asking, Sojo.

I just finished my second year of a doctoral program in Educational Policy Studies. I have probably about 3 more years to go. I've been in school my whole life so I'm ready to finish yesterday.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Wow, Queenie, that sounds really challenging! Dr. Queenie, lol.
Doni is thinking of going back for her doctorate in ed, too. So, what
do you plan to do? You prolly have it all figured out, don't you?

Will summer break bring you any respite, or are you taking classes?
Well, good luck with finals...

Thanks for the job tip, Holberry, but I'm probably going to be doing ed research at a university or think tank and not in a K-12 district. Don't have the training to work in K-12. But if you think they'll hire me... :)

Sojo, I'm not so sure what I'm going to do. Some days I want to go into academia and some days I want to public policy work. I guess it just depends which one of those days I'm on about 3 years from now and who offers me a job :)

The smiley was soooo right for how I was feeling at 6:30 Friday morning having stayed up to work on a paper that was due at 5 that evening. I finished at 5:09. Yeah, baby :)

My drive home Saturday was long. It usually takes me about 10 hours if I push it but it took 13 this time because there was a bad wreck in Kentucky that had traffic completely stopped for 1.5 hours.

I didn't get a chance to eat my green Saturday because I didn't get home in time to have a green. I at my lean in the car while I was stopped in Kentucky. Today was a new challenge. My dad wanted spaghetti and he had ground beef in the refridegerator that he took out to defrost. He didn't cook it yesterday and today he asked me to make it for him. I told him I wasn't eating spaghetti but I made it for him anyway. I didn't really want any until I smelled the garlic bread. I made it through, thankfully, with no spaghetti and no garlic bread. Just shakes and a bar for me, thank you.

The puppies my dad got when I was home last month (or maybe he got them in March) have gotten so big! They were a little too happy to see me. They're usually in a large pen outside because they bother our older dog, Fran, a lot. We've had Fran since April 1994 and she wasn't a little puppy when we got her. Carter and Ida jump all over her and Fran gets around so slow now that she can't get away from them. Ida loves licking Fran's ear and trying to bite her mouth. Carter just likes to jump on her back. Anyway, they have a ton of energy and they're lots of fun. Today was their first time in the cow pasture and Carter got a little scared when a calf started running towards him. They found a dead armadillo later in the day, though, and stunk like all get out after they must have played with it for a while.

Cappuccino time...

Hi Queenielou,

I don't think we've met, but I'm Mavesse

It sounds like you have a fascinating career ahead of you. As a Canadian (and a teacher), I'm always interested in American educational policy because it seems to wind up being our policy, too, as the trends travel north ;)

Your puppies sound sweet, but poor Fran! My parents have an old, old Shihtzu (I have no idea how to spell that) named Phoebe. She's such a good dog, they're thinking they should get a pup now, and apparently the older dog will help train the new one. Somehow, I don't think she'd be too pleased

Sounds like a great weekend (minus the traffic).

WAY TO GO defying the spaghetti! Woo hoo!

The pups sound like a hoot! I also have a youngster jumping all over the older one and we have to be careful because the crazy pups can hurt the old one, but dogs just make life better!

WAY TO GO finishing your last paper, you must feel so relieved!
