Please help my poor taste buds

Postby want2Bthin » April 4th, 2005, 7:07 pm

OK- I have 3 boxes of the Chicken & Wild Rice soup. I would really like to trade them for oatmeal or shakes. I do not like mushrooms which mean that the soup is nasty to my taste buds. :(

Someone please take pitty on me and swap. I may die if I have to actually eat the mushroom (ok, I might be a drama queen). :help:

I know this sounds silly, but you can always pick the mushrooms out before you add the water. I pick all the peas out, because I HATE peas. But once they've been purged, the rest of the soup is great! (I offer this as an alternative in case you end up stuck with 3 boxes of soup and no takers on the trade! ;) )

Rae-
That is not silly at all. I actually have tried that. There are just so many in there! I can't seem to get them all out. I guess if I have no luck here I will have to try harder to pick them out. :uhuh:

Thanks for the great idea.

Rae-
The funny thing is I have always wanted to like mushrooms. When I was a kid my folks would go mushroom hunting. They would deep fry them. They looked so yummy. I would try them everytime and about be sick. I guess I will never be a Fear Factory contestant if I can't eat a silly little mushroom.

Ha ha ha... I sympathize, Angelia! It took me 30 years to finally warm up to shrimp and lobster, but I still won't touch an oyster, clam, or mussel! (What kind of freak has to "warm up" to lobster, right???) I *want* to love shellfish, but I'd really rather just have some oat groats and be done with it.. ;)

the mushrooms were bad enough! now you have to throw fish in the mix too? why don't you just add filthy moldy cheeses, raw cucumbers, and organ meats while you're at it?!?!? :) :)

i actually used to eat fish, but then i stopped. just the smell turns my stomach now [much like the smell of coffee... or mushrooms..].

my requirements for food include not smelling/tasting like dirt, mold, or fungus. :) or be really nasty animal parts.

:roflmao: Okay, but how do cukes fit in?!?! How can you malign the poor cuke? It doesn't smell like dirt, mold, of fungus, and has no organ meat flavors! Mmmm.... cucumbers.....

I wuv cucumbers too...but cannot stand the smell of fish. I have always loved crustaceans though. Mushrooms I only started liking in adulthood. I would not eat them as a child. My sister used to gross me out when we were little with her fondness for Campbell's Cream of Shrooms soup!

Rae-
I do love the cucumbers. But I am not a seafood fan at all. Kind of the same deal as the mushrooms- I want to like it, but I just can't. I do like tuna in the pouches though. Am I an odd bird or what.
