Ahh! I found a picture of the pickle picker on ebay. *Now* I know whatcher talkin about! You know, they *do* have an old school version for sale, if you want to add the drab green one to your collection!

I'm thinking of grabbing one, actually-- no more pickle brine stinging my hangnails and papercuts! ;)

I wish he'd fix my dishwasher, too, so I wouldn't have to be so stingy with my use of silverware!

I usually buy big jars of Klausen or other ny deli-style pickles, and have found that after I finish the pickles, there's still plenty of brine left to make more pickled veggies. I throw some cauliflower florets, straight from the freezer bag, into the jar of brine; a week later (two weeks is best), I have a "new" jar of pickled cauliflower!

cucumbers

Postby oregonrose » May 24th, 2005, 10:26 pm

I LOVE cukes! but my daughter hates them so much that she wont be in the same room with them! she can come down and say "someones eating cucumbers" just by the smell in the kitchen. the same way for pickles.. (I love them too) but I hate avocados and shellfish. go figure. and while we are on the subject, I love muchrooms but who decided that olives should be a food?!?!?
