My poor mailman ...

Postby DogMa » June 15th, 2005, 6:32 pm

... but yay for me! Today I got my new indoor grill to replace my old Foreman that was too nasty to use anymore. This one has removable plates for cleaning, plus you can use it either closed, open (for twice the space) or propped open (for more delicate foods, like fish, it says). I can't wait to use it!

And I also got a new shipment of Medi-foods, including the crackers and pudding, which I really wanted to try, and more soups because I don't like eating sweet foods all the time. And a box of oatmeal (which I hate, but I really want to try the cookie recipe).

And despite restarting my workouts yesterday, including weights, I was down another pound today. So that's 5 pounds in four days. Woo hoo!!

Robin-

I have a grill like the one you received today & I love it. I use it alot unless we grill outside. I love the MF crackers. I like to add a pack to my chilli.

You are off to a terrific start. Weigh to go! :-P

Hey Robin - I've posted this before but wanted to tell you my history with the oatmeal. Came with my starter order and I nearly gagged my way through my first bowl full  . I was ready to throw the stuff out when I came across the cookie recipe. I tried, I liked. As I continued making the cookies, I began to lick the stuff in the bowl. Tasted pretty good. I began to lick more, then decided to give another try to a full bowl of oatmeal, this time with splenda (1 pack for me), cinnamon (lots), and 2/3 cups of water, nuked for 1 minute. I don't know what it was I tasted my first try, but now I absolutely love the oatmeal; can't be without it. In fact, my last order included 10 boxes (5 maple/brownsugar - my favorite, & 5 apple/cinn). So good luck with the cookies. Hope you enjoy, because the variety it adds to the plan is invaluable (in my humble opinion).

Hi Donna - I'm with you on having at least one, but usually two, bowls of oatmeal a day. I had never had oatmeal before MF either. I liked cream of wheat, but didn't care for the bumpy look of oatmeal. Well, I'm a changed girl. I'll probably need it for the rest of my life now. I'm writing this as I've just finished my second bowl of the day. After getting as much as I can with the spoon, I go at it with my finger and get every single last drop :eat: . My daughter, who passed by as I was finishing up, said my bowl looks so clean I could probably just put it back in the cabinet  .

I've never liked any form of hot cereal. I may try it one day just because it DOES smell good when it's all mixed up ... but I've been fooled by good-sounding oatmeal flavors before. For now, I'll stick to the cookies (which hopefully won't stick to the foil again this time!!).

Oatmeal

Postby Jan » June 16th, 2005, 11:22 pm

Hi gang,
I love the oatmeal and especially the oatmeal pancakes. With a little sugar - free syrup they're really a treat. Oatmeal must be good for us beacuse my 99 year old dad eats it every morning. He says that's why he's so healthy!

Dogma, I hope your cookies were sticky-free!

I am having my nightcap French Vanilla Berry oatmeal now...Donna, after I finish my serving, I pour water into my jar, swirl it all about and drink the swill! It's my pale ale! I love this stuff!

Okay getting a swill visual is not good!!! BUT if it makes us satisfied then AWESOM!!!! I also love the oatmeal.

I do have a question though. I am doing the 5&1 and was wondering if it is suggested that we have 3 shakes and then 2 other meals...(oatmeal, pudding) I would prefer to have 2 shakes, 1 oatmeal, 1 pudding, 1 chili...is this do-able to still loose weight?

Yup!

You may use any combo of five products.

In the beginning of the weight loss stage, if a person experiences hunger, the shakes may be more beneficial in terms of keeping the appetite suppressed.

I feel hungry sooner if I have the Iced Teas, Fruit Punches, the Cappuccino or the Chai Latte - I don't think it is psychological either, it just doesn’t' seem to stick to my scrawny riblets as well as the soy-based shakes or oatmeal.

(FYI, the above aforementioned items are whey-based.)
