Sick of being in the classroom :nutz:

I share your thoughts wholeheartedly!! I know the feeling. Hopefully now that you have served your time and have things aligned, it will work out that way.

I don't want to go school tomorrow. I am sick just thinking about. I just discovered that I will not be allowed to wear my iPod when I do the half marathon. It was buried on page 4 of the instructions. I am seriously thinking of not doing it now. The music is what gets me through the workout. I feel like crying and hitting something, really I do. :x I went to the gym today, did 5 miles on the treadmill which sucks-I hate running indoors. Didn't really eat right today, but oh well. Tomorrow is another day.

Oh that really is stupid that you can not where your ipod. I would really like to see the reasoning on that one.

But if you are anything like me. I would just sing out loud. I do not get embarressed. Wait you will be breathing heavy. Thats why you can tell I only walk.

You can do it

Before I had asthma I sang aloud when I jogged. It helps you know you are still in aerobic not anaerobic exercise. But I used to jog at 5am when the only witnesses were fellow joggers and homeless people. I know you must be terribly disappointed. I'm sorry. :(

:( I wonder why they would outlaw the ipods?

I want one so badly (ipod/MP3 player) but do not know which one to buy/choose. I thought of using my BeSlim points for one..that would be a fun gift to myself.

I'm sorry you are disappointed in finding out about the ipod and that it takes a lot of the anticipated enjoyment out of doing the race. Hope it works out, somehow, for you.

Leave it to a devious group of teenagers to explain to me how to get around the iPod thing. "Miss you know it is going to be cold-so just wear your hood". My husband bought me a jacket for Christmas to wear and that is what I am going to do! My friend (who ran the same race last year) said they tell you not to have them, but no one disqualifies you or takes away your player if you have one. So I am going to take it and when I need it the most I will use it. I usually sing along with the music as I am running (not too mention a little bobbing and weaving as I dance/jog). I am just in a pissy mood today-not much fun to be around and really upset over little trivial things. I have done really good today, just a half of a graham cracker as a cheat and a swig of real Coke. Wasn't paying attention to the vending machine and it didn't give me my Coke Zero and I opened it and took a drink. Didn't finish it though.

I have as close to compliant today as I have in about 3 weeks! My "cheat" is half a carb-balance flour tortilla. I biked, ran, and swam at the gym tonight. For some reason, Mother Nature has decided that Texas needs a dose of Minnesota weather and I am having to go to the gym to run. I HATE the treadmill-it's good for short runs (under3 miles) but anything over that I am ready to just scream. Battling the jealous demons with my husband again. It really sucks that our running/training coach is an adorable, funny, petite, 24 year-old with a wonderful attitude and there is NO WAY I can compete with her. The sad thing is, she has become one my closet friends, but I am terrified that my husband would rather spend time with her, than me because she can keep up with him on runs and I can't. It is just one of those things I have to figure out for myself. It only seems to bother me at certain times of the month-wonder why that could be?

Eh, it's probably for liability reasons/safety reasons since you can't hear runners nearby or traffic. Even though you train with it, in the race you are under their time and responsibility, I guess. I have no dount people sneak them in, but I know they sometimes do a check for them before it starts. Your husband loves that you are out there with him. There's plenty of room for lots of friends. Look at the positives. You are getting so much out of it, too. She can run out there with him, but so can you!! Have a great weekend!

Fingers crossed for you that you will want to get on program with no cheats at all. You can do this!

Yes, the no headphones rule is for safety. Been pretty good today, I hate it when my routine gets disrupted. We were out of school today because it was slightly icy this morning. I ended watching "Julie and Julia" not a good movie for someone trying to adjust their eating habits.

I was so praying for a delayed opening. NO such luck. I want to watch that movie. I met Julia Childs in person at the culinary school I went to. What a sweetheart.

I saw the movie at the theater and enjoyed it. My sister meet JC at Neiman Marcus in Dallas, in the elevator. She also said she was very nice.

Tomorrow is the practice run for the half marathon. I have to go 13.1 miles in the cold weather-I am not looking forward to it at all. Well, the good new is that I am down 4 pounds this week! I am now down a total of 74 pounds since March, 2009! It makes me really really good inside.

Practice run sucked today big time-we were running a new and complicated course and I lost my map around mile 8 and my motivation. My husband said he would slow down today, but nope he just ran right pass me like I knew where I was going. Around mile 10 I gave up running entirely I was too pissed, cold, and my feet were on fire (which was nice for one part of my body to be warm. I just went a route that I knew would take me back to my car. So, I guess I don't know if I am capable of doing 13.1 miles or not. I know I can't run the entire way. I am hoping to run (believe me it is the slowest run in the world) for 8 miles, walk 2 and then jog the last 3.1. That is plan, whether I do it or not is too be determined. :x
