Nominations for Medifast Theme Song

Postby Janae » June 27th, 2006, 3:46 pm

Since we have such avid music lovers- with such diverse tastes in music, I thought you could put those creative juices toward a Medifast theme Song!

Like-
For all MF'ers..."One Day at a Time"

For MF'ers who are tempted to cheat in the evenings..."Help Me Make It Through the Night"

For those who reach maintenance..."Oh Happy Day"!!!

What MF'ers dream about..."My Favorite Things"

What my HA sings to me..."I'll Be There"

What MF'ers sing to their packets..."If You Leave Me Now..."!!!

Got more? :)

For all of the summer BBQ's--- "There's a Tear in my Beer" (because I can't have a beer and a burger, of coarse!)

Everytime someone reaches a goal I hear the song from Flashdance in my mind "What a Feelin"

Sticking with the "queen" theme..

How about "fat bottem girls"?

Ok..maybe that one won't work! 8)

i have a song in my cd player now that ALWAYS motivates my MF journey...it's called "Unspeakable Joy" by Kim English. it's an older song but it's so uplifting and has a great beat. if u don't listen to dance and/or house music (not to be confused with techno), you can Google "unspeakable joy lyrics" and read them.

such a great song for MF'ers!! :D i usually blast it 3-4 afternoons in my car (especially on my weigh in days!)

No need to google it, Here are the lyrics! :D

Unspeakable Joy by Kim English

When I wake up in the morning gets me outta bed
Keeps me runnin' skippin' jumpin' like a little kid
You know sometimes I can hardly keep it inside
It overtakes me, overwhelms me, and I'm mortified
I Did not get it from any ole' little man
And it's okay if they don't always understand
It's very easy to get caught in circumstance
It's even easier to break out in a dance

Chorus:
JOY!
Unspeakable Joy!
'Cause they did not give it, and cannot take it away!
JOY!
Unspeakable Joy!
In my heart and I can't let them steal my
JOY!
Unspeakable Joy!
'Cause they did not give it , and cannot take it away!
JOY!
Unspeakable Joy!
'Cause they did not give it, and cannot take it away!

People ask my why this supernatural high
Seeing only sun when there's a cloudy sky
I know the trouble tries to surround me
But I've been given something greater deep inside of me
I did not get it from any old little man
And it's okay if they don't always understand
It's very easy to get caught in circumstance
It's even easier to break out in a dance

(Chorus)

JOY!(x3)

(Chorus)

JOY!
Unspeakable Joy!
'Cause they did not give it, and they can not take it away!
JOY!
Unspeakable Joy!
In my heart and I can't let them steal my
JOY! (x11)

(Chorus)

When I'm facing opposition of that attitudes
We come see notions, dispositions are completely rude
When darkness thinks that it's outdone me,
I must remember the greater love's inside me
I did not get it from any old little man
And it's okay if they don't always understand
It's very easy to get caught in circumstance
It's even easier to break out in a dance

(Chorus)

JOY!(x5)

Ok, don't call me a dweeb and throw old fruit at me, but I wrote this little ditty three years ago just for fun. It's an eye-roller  , but I sing it to myself all the time. It's sung to the old Roy Rogers tune, "Back in the Saddle Again", and I turned it into a Medifast song for myself. So I went back into my journal and had a good laugh and thought I'd risk sharing my corny little lyrics with you all. DON'T LAUGH!
Here goes:

"I'm back in Ketosis again,
It is medifaster's best friend,
If I just stick to it
I soon will be through it and be
Back in Ketosis Again.

(the next verses all start out the the same first two lines--
*I'm back in ketosis again, it is medifaster's best friend*--then
the last part is new---got it?) ;)

"---So hang on, keep fightin'
It is sooo excitin' to be
Back in Ketosis again.

---So come on, JUST DO IT,
Just start NOW--get TO IT
and get Back in Ketosis Again.

---It's time to get crackin'
And send those pounds PACKIN'
and get Back in Ketosis again.

---Don't wait or delay it
The PRICE-you can pay it
and be Back in Ketosis Again!

---To put off tomorrow
Will bring only sorrow
To be out of Ketosis again.

---Ketosis won't hurt you
Your cravings desert you
when you're Back in Ketosis again.

---If I just keep trying
I soon will be flying
and be Back in Ketosis Again.

OK, LAST verse: <LOL>

---So why are you waiting?
Don't be Hesitating
to get Back in Ketosis Again!"

I used to have a lot of fun singing that song to myself and I didn't realize how much I did it until we were playing a trivia game on Family Night and the question came up "What was Roy Roger's theme song?" Well, of course Roy Rogers was WAY AHEAD of my daughter's time (almost too way ahead of MY time!), so my hubby started humming the melody. My youngest dd's face suddenly lit up and she shouted "I'm back in ketosis again!!!!!" We laughed till our sides ached! Happy memories. :) :) :)
