microwaves and medifast

Postby texastrish » June 29th, 2004, 4:31 pm

Some people are saying they are heating up their medifast. Are you using a microwave and, maybe Nancy knows the answer, does it kill the nutrients? In my son's college class, he learned that microwaving food kills a majority of the nutrients. It kills 90% of the nutrients in broccoli !

I thought I read someplace on the message board that it does destroy some of the nutrients to microwave. It might be ok for an occasion though. I like the shakes as cold as they can get without being a block of mf-ice.

Geezy-weezy! I only tried one time to heat up the chocolate for my last drink of the day. It was awful--and, I haven't been known to turn down much of anything in the way of food or drink in my lifetime. Maybe I did it wrong, but what a total waste of a packet of Medifast!

Give me a blender and those 6-8 ice cubes anytime!

Thanks for responding. Actually, people were heating it up to make hot chocolate. I'm not going to waste mine trying it now.
