Thanks, BIKI,
Nothing serious, it seems. Should clear up with meds & drops real soon!
You keep on making us happy with the fun things that you are doing!
You know, as I look back over the past year while on Medifast and this TSFL forum, it has not been a drudgery or boring at all,
because of people like you. And the excitement of the changes in our lives.
WE ROCK!!

OKAY CHILDREN! I started my 'Mini-goal" yesterday for 130#.

As most of you know, I reached my goal of 135# Aug. 31, 2006, having lost 60#. I have maintained it for over five months, usually 2-3 pounds under.
I actually went down to 129# at one point, but only for a day or two.
But lately it has been wavering TOO close to 135#, and yesterday it was 135.5!

So that did it! Especially since I had been considering lowering it for some time now.
I am doing a 'modified' 5 & 1 to do the deed. This morning the scale was nicer to me and read 133.6#!

I will report my mini-goal journey each day, if possible, for accountability and to help my own resolve.

Feb. 6, --- 135.5
Feb. 7, --- 133.6

As a member of the Senior Medifast Plan, I have a little more food leeway if I desire to take it.
It will slow me down some, but that is best. If I lose too fast, it comes back too fast!

I have good reasons to launch on the journey.
I believe I will feel better at the lower weight since I am a shorty, 5'1" .
My BMI is not at the ideal number yet, according to the charts. It is now about 26 and should be 24 I believe.
(Someone can help me with this, maybe Robin)
I want to comfortably & consistently wear size 8's, maybe 6's, for my height!
I want to be the healthiest that I can be!
I want to be able to maintain that weight (or just under) without struggling!
Yes, I exercise moderately consistently, walking and water aerobics.
I hope I have your good thoughts and encouragement.
It may seem like a small thing to some, but to me, it is a BIG DEAL!

And here is the kicker. I am telling my MF friends, but not necessarily anyone else.
Even DH and close friends would not approve since they say I shouldn't lose any more weight!
I don't need ANY negative feedback, (only constructive) if you get my drift!

Hi Bette,
Have you talked this over with your Doc?

I think that is a good question.

I agree. He/she can judge your ideal weight better than a BMI chart, which doesn't account for how muscular you are (or age, even, sometimes). That said, though, we're about the same height (I'm half an inch taller) and I'm OK at 130 (I'd prefer to be even lower, but I'm making my peace with it). I don't think I'm too thin at all.

I'd go with a weight that's easy to maintain, though. If you're constantly struggling to stay closer to 130 but find it easy to stay around 135, I'd stick with 135. That's why I'm starting to accept 130 instead of 125. Life's too short to spend it constantly worrying about every little thing you eat. If you can live comfortably at 135, I'd do it.

Thanks, UNCA, BIKI and DOGMA!
Appreciate your input. I'll talk to my doctor when I go in again. I'm scheduled for my annual physical in March, I believe.

Since I am running under my goal weight most of the time, anyway, with no problem...I'll go ahead and see what happens if I go for 130# with my Senior MF Plan.
( It looks a whole lot like maintenance for most people.)

135# was an arbitrary figure I chose for my goal weight, but if I had chosen 130# for my goal, I imagine I would have already been there and maintaining that during this time!
I certainly will do what is the best for my health. As ROBIN said, I do not want to be constantly struggling to stay at the lower weight.

So thank you again, and I'll keep us posted! UNCA, you let my real name out of the bag, so I'll sign this...

FEB. 8, 2007

My 2nd and final goal (mini goal) of reaching 130# and maintaining it has begun. This is the 3rd day and I have had no ill effects like feeling too hungry.
As I mentioned last post, I could have reached this goal in the beginning and already been maintaining it.
But no harm done. It could have been a good thing to do it this way.
Maintaining for me has actually been a continuation of my eating plan, with substitutions of like nutritions foods, with planned treats added.
I believe I can slide back into transition/maintenance very easily (I am optimistic!) because I know what to do.
I am committed now, so I will continue.
As some may feel, it might be best to wait...and I would if I had a great deal to lose.
It's not a life or death deal, and time will show if it is a good move for me to make.
I am a very flexible person and open to change, if it is for my best.
It's actually a little exiting being on another journey. :drive: Even a short one like this.

I will report my mini-goal journey each day, if possible, for accountability and to help my own resolve.

Feb. 6, --- 135.5
Feb. 7, --- 133.6
Feb. 8 ---133.5

I do so appreciate your input.

I'm sure you'll do fine, Bette. And it's not like you can't change your mind if you want to later.

I will say, size 6s ARE fun.

I gave most of mine to the homeless before I decided to go on Medifast. All the boxes of clothes were annoying my tidy little husband. I kept the really expensive stuff so maybe by July...

You got that right! Just a little problem having to do away with the new size 10's or above.
Oh, well, sacrifices must be made for the 'cause'.
But I'm not counting my chickens.

I shopped for teeny clothes for 30 years of my life. I have had as much fun shopping for fat clothes, shoes, purses, make-up and perfume.
