ARK. Thank's for the happy dancer's. Silver Fox is dancing too!
I know you will make it to Goal, too. It is so worth it!

Now for the big challenge of Transition/Maintenance.
I have already started posting on the Maintenance Forum.
So see you there...
The Journal has been fun, and I'll still be reading it, but mostly writing on Maintenance.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2006

133.9 this morning!

I have been somewhat AWOL but I haven't disappeared!
I have been doing fine on transition/maintenance and even losing a little weight.
That must mean my body would like to go lower. I'll listen to my body!

My plan includes 3-4 meal supplements, sometimes 2 small L&G's, with allowable snacks.

I love to begin the day with oatmeal...I love them all. Now I add a TBS of ground flaxseed meal, cinnamon, splenda and a splash of skim milk.
I still must have my bar during the day.
If I am at home, I fix MF Soup, adding an extra cup water, chicken or beef boullion cube, chopped celery, mushrooms, Ms. Dash spice.
Simmer until veggies soft and soup thickened. Good with MF crackers. YUMMY!
When we eat out, I usually choose salmon or chicken, veggies, fruit.
I know I will add special treats, but always aware that I will need to substitute or fit it into my caloric intake.
Really, it wouldn't be difficult to eat this way forever!

YIPPEE! I walked over 10,000 steps today which is my goal.
First time since I started keeping count with pedometer.
A lot of those steps I took cleaning and getting ready for company on Monday. And that was with DH doing the heavier stuff!
Then we went for our usual evening walk of about a mile.
I realize that exercise is going to play a huge role in maintaining my weight!

All next week I truly will be away, because we will be going on a week trip.
Just want you all to know I am not doing a disappearing act!
I think I will copy and paste this over to Maintenance since I need to post there also.
I will look forward to reading your posts when we get back, but will still have company for the rest of this month.

You'll be in my thoughts!

OCTOBER 2, 2006

Oh, it's been too long since I posted on my journal. I have posted in the Maintenance Forum, so maybe I haven't been too bad! :x
Must have thought that one place would be enough!

ARK! Are you ok and not too freaked out? Love you, kid!

So much has happened since I last posted here; no way I can catch up!
I am doing fine on Maintenance.
I am still 2 pounds under goal and I sure want to stay there and maybe go on down another few pounds!
That way, I won't worry so much about going up past goal.

You know, Sunday I almost felt I was losing control. My schedule gets all out of whack on Sundays.
There are longer times between meals, water issues, etc.
And I usually eat a special treat on Sunday, such as a piece of my favorite: lemon meringue pie.
Then there were peanuts and raisins on the bar, and it was almost too much to resist! So I indulged in them, too!
But thankfully, I stopped before I really messed up royally.
So this morning the scale showed about 5 ounces higher. I breathed a big sigh of relief and today I got myself straightened out again!
I know it’s going to happen that when I can eat more regular food, the temptations will be very strong.

But my desire never to let myself become unfit and unhealthy again will need to remain stronger.

You can't believe all the NSV's coming my way. People are calling me ‘tiny’ now…that is about the utmost compliment!
Skinny is nice…but ‘tiny’ beats it all to pieces!
Another thing I am discovering. I have weighed less in the past, but I don’t think I have been actually ‘smaller’.
On the MF program, inches seem to drop, even when the pounds don’t.
I wonder if others are finding it that way?

Hey, y’all. Friday is DH and my 60th Wedding Anniversary.

It almost seems anti-climactic since we have been celebrating with friends for weeks now!
All this week we have special things planned. Tomorrow we plan to go see “Facing the Giants”.
I’ve heard it is a ‘must see’ inspirational movie by a number of people. Then dinner after.
Friday, we will celebrate with friends at a restaurant of my choice. I haven’t ‘chosen’ yet.

I think I will post a picture or two on Studio in a day or two along with our anniversary announcement!
You'll have to forgive me for boasting but I am very proud of that accomplishment!

My friends, I wish for all of you a happy, blessed and exciting journey through life as we have been privileged to have.

Lizabette,
You should be boasting! A 60th wedding anniversary IS a great accomplishment and something anyone who is blessed enough to celebrate one should be proud of. How great is that? Celebrating your 60th wedding anniversary and still looking like a "hot mama" all at the same time! :D Can't wait to see the pics! All the best to you!

OCTOBER 6, 2006

Today was the BIG 60 Day. I celebrated my 60th wedding anniversary along with my 60 pound plus weight loss!
Everything is sure a lot more fun when you feel good and look good!
I wore my leopardy sweater to dinner tonight (of course in honor of our NANCY)
I must send her a picture in case she is lolly gagging on the beaches of Oahu and didn't see it on STUDIO!

We dined at COLTON'S (you know the place where you eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor!)
I didn't do that, of course, cause I steered clear of the peanuts!
I had the ceasar salad (dressing on the side), sirloin tips with grilled onions and peppers, and baked sweet potato.
After coming home, I had a small piece of Marie Callendar's Lemon Meringue Pie...my favorite treat in all the world.

Don't gasp, guys, remember I am on maintenance!
And it was my 60th wedding anniversary!
I also wanted to be accountable to you all...
I had really watched my food during the day...
I didn't want to overdo and I don't think I did.

Right now, I am still 2 pounds under goal, and I wouldn't mind at all going on down to 130 by the end of this month.
We still have two big events coming up then, which I will talk about later.
Then I will do my best to stay under goal.

I am so thankful for all the well wishes from you all, and from so many of our friends and family.
I know I must be the most blessed person there is, but then, so are you.

Well, that is it for today.

Hi, Liz!!

You are so incredibly inspiring. I was hoping to check in BEFORE the big day and wish you well, but alas...

Congratulations, nonetheless, on your many successes and blessings. You look absolutely radiant! No doubt, the hubster is speechlessly proud to have you on his arm.

Much love,
Diana (and Mike, too, of course!)

OCTOBER 12, 2006.

131.8 THIS MORNING!

It was exactly 9 months ago when I started Medifast.
I was 195# (or higher) when I took my first bite of Medifast food replacements.
I was ‘scared’.
I really did not know what I was getting into. I was the ‘new kid on the block’!
I knew that I needed to do something drastic because of my health problems and self esteem issues, etc.
So with the help and support of this wonderful forum, I took it just one day (shake) at a time until slowly but surely the pounds and inches started dropping.

I reached my goal of 135# on August 31, about 7.5 months from start to finish.
So for about a month and a half now I have been transitioning and maintaining.
DH & I go to the Y 3 days a week (water aerobics for me--weights, etc. for him.) We walk on the off days 25-30 minutes each evening.
So far, so good! My weight has been fluctuating several pounds up and down during this time.
I still use Medifast for 3-4 meals or snacks a day.
Right now it is my 'safety net'. But I know that eventually I will need to go it alone...just not ready yet!

My maintenance mini-goal now is to get to 130# by the end of October while maintaining.
I believe that it will make it easier to stay under goal, I pray, forever!
It is great to see how so many of you are continuing on in the weight loss/health journey.
Let me tell you, it is so worth it!

I am still dropping clothing sizes even though my weight is staying pretty much the same.
I have been altering some favorite things to fit, and buying some special things and it is so much fun!
Right now, my sizes are ranging from 8 - 10 -12! And a couple things even smaller!!!

We have company coming next week, so my posting may be even more sparse than it already is.
Then planning another short trip to OKC at the end of the month that should be very exciting where I will see many people I haven’t seen for a long time.
Incentive to not let up…

Stay strong and stay motivated, guys.
You’ll get there soon!
