LilMsTexas Surgery Update

~ Ding Dong Belly, The Belly Monster is Dead ~

Good Evening Y’all ~

As you know, today was Surgery Day for our Dear Lil’ Ms Texas.

Christi has been waiting for this special occasion for a long time. She referred to her excess belly flappage as the “Belly Monster.”

I :felix: waited all morning for her husband Darren to call me with the post surgery update snd I know that you have all been waiting to hear fom me.

Since there is a three hour time difference between my side of the map and theirs, as my clock neared the 1 PM hour, I was getting a little  worried when my phone didn’t ring.

I thought I might give them a call and see how things were going.

No answer so I left a message.

I didn’t hear from Darren all day and then I thought perhaps Christi’s surgery was started a little later than planned or :x Gulp! Cancelled.

Just a little while ago (6 PM Pacific Time) I received a phone call from a :boing: surprise hospital visitor. Our own LuzInIt planned a surprise hospital visit to see Christi this afternoon and to take her a bouquet of her favorite :rose: flowers (daisies), a basket laden with goodies and  well wishes from the MakeMeThinner Forum Family.

How about that LuzInIt? :hi5:

A drive by flowering and hugging!

What a special friend to drive so far, sleep over at a hotel and then visit LilMsTexas in the hospital. Christi is a :rose: special gal and so is LuzInIt to plan and execute this surprise!

Evidently the battery in Christi & Darren’s cell phone croaked and the charger is in their hotel room…so we didn’t get the phone call.

According to LuzInIt: The Belly Monster is no longer hanging around – Christi is belly free! :whoohoo:

Thank goodness, she is free at last! :yay: :bounce:

No more Dunlop Disease” for LilMsTexas! The  Belly that used to lop over her waistline is outta here! :byebye: Buh-bye, Belly!

I’m sure that Christi will have much more to add once she gets home and is able to ambulate to her office :puter: ‘puter but until she does, here’s the skinny on her belly.

:secret: Remember that the doc told her to expect about 2 pounds off the belly?

When Christi saw the doc today, the doc told her she had thought about Christi all weekend long and decided she would need more attention – the result: the surgeon actually removed 6 POUNDS of flabber:partytime:

There is a little story to be told about the time of surgery and the arrival time at the hospital but for now and for those who want to know, the IV went perfectlyno valium and no multiple pokage! The IV went in the first time! Whew! Our  prayers were answered multiple times, eh?

She is expected to have a one night :snooze: slumber party at the hospital tonight and then be released sometime tomorrow about noonish.

LuzInIt took pictures of Christi and the hospital visit and will send them to us this next week upon her return home. Our  Dear Unca will post them as soon as we get them here at the MakeMeThinner Cottage and have permission to do so.

MMT Forum Family, we thank you all in advance for your  prayers and  support for our little dynamo Christi.

As we learn more about her progress, we’ll pass on the latest information right here. Please keep holding Christi and Darren close in your thoughts and prayers. (and LuzInIt, too as she travels back home)

YEAH....I've been looking on here a few times today - wondering and patiently waiting to find out how Christi was doing after letting go of that Belly Monster. I'm so relieved to hear that everything went well - and now I can go to bed and sleep peacefully (for the few hours that I'll be able to get tonight...I've got to get up at 5:30 to take my kids to their LAST swim meet this summer...YEAH!).

Thank you Linda (Luzinit) for taking the flowers and goodies to Christi! I know that had to be a wonderful surprise & I can't wait to see the photos! Did you get behind the camera too? I know you were saying that was going to be a challenge for you, but we'd LOVE to meet you face to face (or at least put a face with your messages). That was such a thoughtful thing for you to do and even more thoughtful to let us be included! Thanks again for doing all this & for calling Nancy to give her the update of the surgery & your visit!

Well, Christi, I know you won't be able to read this for a day or two, but, "I TOLD YA SO!!!) I knew it would HAVE to be more than 2 measley pounds!! That 6 pound belly monster is gone FOREVER!!! YEAH!!! Now, you're just around the ben from reaching your goal. I'm sooo excited for you and can't wait til I'm that close! Only thing is....after you reach your goal....you CAN'T leave us!! You have to teach us ALL about your maintenance success - which I KNOW will be totally doable for you!!

Write as soon as you can....we're waiting to hear from you!

PS....If it wasn't sooo late (1 am) and I wasn't sooo tired (yewn) and I didn't have to wake up soooo early (5:30 am) tomorrow morning, I'd fill this message FULL of emoticions because I sure feel them....but I HAVE to go to bed!! I was actually already laying in bed and thought I would check again before I fell asleep to see if Nancy had heard from you yet!

6 POUNDS OF FLAB GONE! WOW! I also suffer from Dunlop's Disease and every day think that it will be necessary once I'm done with my weight loss to get it snipped off....maybe I could just tie a string around it all real tight and it would fall off! :redhead:

LuzInIt is a very special lady  and I am so happy that she has found a Medifast friend who lives relatively close by. Christi...I know that LuzInIt's visit had to have given you a "lift" in spirit. The thoughts and prayers of your Medifast family will continue until you are completely recovered.

Take extra good care of yourself! :rose: You've had your very last "hang over" and its zippered blue jean time comin' up!

I have another client who recently had a tummy tuck – she is two weeks out from surgery. She came home the same day of surgery. The first few days were “rough” but she is so happy that she had it done.

She had 2 # of flabber removed. She said it was important to take her pain meds on time, to not go by how she felt, but to follow the directions for taking the medication on time so that the pain never got out of hand. It allowed her body to relax and to heal.

She has to wear a special girdle to keep the wound compressed. She was rather swollen at first and her weight went up a few pounds in the first couple of days following surgery and by the end of the week, she was down six pounds.

She has a little drain tube, her stomach feels numb around the area where her new belly button was fashioned and she said her stomach feels numb in areas up to her woadies – the areas where the lipo was done and her tissue hasn’t reattached yet. Her doc said that she could feel numb for up to a year.

She is very glad she had the surgery done and said it was well worth the $6k for the elective surgery.
