I feel better after pitching a fit, lol.
Thanks you guys, I was surprised to see so many responses so quickly.. you are all awesome.

Turns out TOM isn't done after all.. guess that is part of what is making my mood weird today.

To answer some questions..
I only work 1 job now, full time, normal hours, and though we have alot of activities in the evenings, I'm getting in 7-8 hours sleep a night, occasionally a bit more on weekends.

I have been having some deli meats for L&G lately because it's so quick, maybe it is sodium + TOM that is just making me retain like crazy.

I did mention briefly to my obgyn about TOM being so weird.. she told me to ignore it while I'm losing weight, it is totally normal for it to be completely out of whack, and stressing over it will just make it worse.

A typical day for me - all of this is shifted about 2 hours later on weekends:

Up at 7:45
meal 1 8:30ish
meal 2 11:00-11:30, very often late on this one, as late as 12:30
meal 3 2:00-2:30, usually not late on this one
meal 4 5:00, rarely late on this one
snack 6:30
meal 5 or L&G 7:30-8:00
meal 6, 10:00
Bed around 11:30, sleeping by 00:30 at the latest.

I drink water all day, to equal approx 4 litres, sometimes as much as 6 litres on busy days. Occasionally have crystal lite or diet pepsi with L&G.

Usually have on weekdays
RTD
RTD
Bar (on 6-0 days)
Soup
Soup or L&G
Soup

On weekends
RTD or oatmeal
Soup
Soup (or bar on 6-0 days)
Soup
Soup or L&G
Soup, pudding or shake.

6-0 days only happen maybe twice a week.
On fridays, depending on how late we get home from Shabbat, it is not uncommon for me to only have 5 MF meals and maybe a small handful of undressed veggies my MIL serves, typically cherry tomatoes or cucumbers.

My L&Gs don't vary much..
Salad from hearts of romaine, red & green baby romaine or mixed baby greens (spinach, romaine, roka (arugula), dandelion, radicchio, few others I don't remember name of). To dress it I either make a sauce with olive oil, dijon grain mustard, red wine vinegar, shallots, salt & pepper or I use japanese vinaigrette (70cal; 7gfat; 110mg sodium; 1gcarb; 1gsugars per TBSP).. occasionally I will use Italian salad spritzer (15cal; 1gfat; 100mg sodium; 1gcarb; 1gsugars per 8ml).

If I don't have salad, I will steam fresh green beans then toss them in a frying pan with a few sprays of ICBNB and a few sprays (maybe a tsp) of olive oil, some red onion or shallots, sea salt and pepper.

For the lean part..
Occasionally I will have deli ham, dipped in dijon or yellow mustard

Cottage cheese, 2% or 1%, whichever is on sale

5oz Pork chop in a skillet with olive oil and Emeril's essence

5oz Chicken thighs skinless boneless (I know I should be having breasts).. pan fried with olive oil (just enough so it doesn't stick) and Emeril's essence, olive oil & lemon pepper or in the oven with roasted garlic.

Very rarely I will have steak, I am not sure of the cut, in french it's called a rôti. There's no visible fat in the cut though.. and I don't eat the edges, which my MIL usually slathers with butter.

Light tuna from a can packed in water (or dry packed in a pouch), tsp or so light mayo or light miracle whip, tbsp or so dijon or yellow mustard, celery, pickles or capers and pepper.

Snacks.. I will have soy crisps or garden veggie crackers.. celery or pickles.. on 5-1 days I have celery cut up in small slices and tossed with a few sprays of Italian salad spritzer... 6-0 days I have celery with cream cheese to get the fat servings in.

I don't do much to the Medimeals.. I drink the shakes as they are 99% of the time.. the other 1% I will add a small splash of some sort of extract.

Oatmeal I will add a pinch of pumpkin pie spices and/or splenda.

Chix noodle & wild rice.. I double the water and add bouillon. On 6-0 days I might grate in a little celery and/or red onion.

Broccoli soup I will either make with bouillon instead of water or bake them into crackers with a small pinch of sea salt on top.

I try to limit bars to 2 or 3 times a week, and really try not to have them on 5-1 days.. though I don't always succeed at that.

I do not drink coffee ever. I will have herbal tea or green tea perhaps once a week. No creamer, but I will have splenda.

Diet pepsi is my crutch, I was drinking too much of it, so as of a few weeks ago I do not buy it to have at home. If I am out and feeling that monster starting to come out.. you know, that one that wants to wrestle the people at the table next to you for that piece of bread or plate of fries.. then I will have a diet drink. I don't eat when we go out, since I never know what they make stuff with. I have herbal tea instead.

I crunch ice all day.. bad for the teeth, I know, but satisfies the need for something crunchy.. and I have 2-3 pieces sugarfree gum a day(5cal, 0fat; 1gcarb).

I don't know how accurate SIM is, but it says my Calories TEE is 3475.

That's it I guess.

Wow... well, that was thorough Kelly.

The first thing I noticed was meal 2 was 3 1/2 to 4 hours after the first... try to get it in a little sooner. The rest looks okay, but as I mentioned, you might want to see if a 6-1 or 7-0 works better for you. Just try it for a few days and see if you notice a change. Especially if you do ANY exercise... make sure you get enough calories for your body to work.

Di actually mistakingly did a 6-1 her first month before realizing how many she was having, and still lost over 20 lbs in that first month.

Just as the BMI charts don't work for athletic folks, the 5-1 and 6-0 don't necessarily work for everybody. Just see if that helps. Let us know how it goes and keep us updated.

Hey, Kel -

I agree with Mike, and to add to that, would potentially lay off the deli meats (especially ham, which is known to be buried in sodium), until you get this under control.

But, as a side note, I am thrilled you're working less and getting normal sleep. I'm also happy you went to the doc about the TOM, especially bc I know how desperately you want to have a baby once you've lost the weight, and I am sure any chaos with your period freaks you out. But rest assured the diet does wreak a bit of havoc temporarily, it will sort itself out!

This will happen for you, Kelly, it really will!

Just saying hi,

So glad you're getting more sleep and normal hours are coming back to your life!

The deli meats slowed me down a bit the first time as well.

My TOM is totally crazy too!

I agree with Mike about trying to add a meal, I just started doing it since I've been so active with my job and am also seeing how it goes!

Here's to you!!!!

Hi guys..
Thanks for valentines notes :)

I have been here, just not in the mood to post lately. Things for me are still the same (read: incredibly infuriating).

I am still spotting some days, other days not.. my obgyn called today to check up on me, and after telling her that, she wants me to take a pregnancy test.. I guess it's normal to spot like this in the first month of 2 of pregnancy.
I highly doubt I am pregnant, but I guess it's better to know for sure.

Following the plan, grudgingly to be honest.. I am not losing, but the scale does fluctuate 3-4 pounds day to day. I'm really anxious to get out of the 380's, and into the 30# club.

Also going to go back to 6-0 tomorrow (maybe tonight depending on what MIL made for Shabbat).

Jer was so sweet yesterday, I fell asleep on the sofa after work, he woke me when he got home up by tickling my nose with a red rose.. then gave me 2 more just there on the sofa... then when I got up to get dressed for supper, I found roses all over the house, on my side of the bed, attached to my lamp, in the fridge handle, in the fridge itself, on the dining room table, in my coat pocket, in my purse, on my computer.. and on the toilet (lol!).. he said he wanted to put them everywhere I would see that evening.. he's such a good guy.

We are leaving in the morning for 2 days in Quebec City, we're going to see the ice hotel, the waterfalls (higher than Niagara but not quite as wide), the aquarium and the winter carnival. I am VERY excited, it's a long time we haven't gone out of Montreal except to see my Grandmother in upstate NY.

Kelly~ Hi......I'm sorry that you are feeling down. I wish I knew exactly what to say to make you feel better, but unfortunately, I can only offer my understanding. I really want to encourage you to hang in there. When I did MF last year and hit a stall, I just kept telling myself that eventually the scale had to move. I mean...I was staying compliant so the scale had to start moving down. And eventually it did. The alternative was to go off plan and that would most definitely result in the scale moving.....just not in the way I wanted it to.

I know you hear these same types of comments all the time, and when your feeling frustrated, they don't really seem to help. But....I promise you....if you stick with it, the scale will move down.

Have a great time on your trip with your hubby. What a sweatheart he is!!!!!!

Hi Kelly!
I'm sorry that you are down in the dumps. :uhuh:
I'm also wondering if you tried a 6+1 if your body might give up some weight. It may be worth a try. Sometimes we follow the program to the tee but our bodies are still not getting the nutrition it needs--in which case it holds on to weight. :x

Surprisingly when my weight-loss slowed down I would add protein or a little more fat and got it moving again. Just a thought.

We had a truly fantastic time in Quebec City. The weather was perfect (for wintertime, lol) sunshine both days, just below freezing temps, and hardly any wind.

This weekend was a bust as MF compliance is concerned. I didn't cheat, I just didn't have all of my meals. I only managed 3 MF + L&G on both Sat and Sun.

Did ok yesterday, but was stuffed after L&G and had to force my shake 2 hours later.

Still not seeing the scale move. I am really bummed out about it too. It doesn't even make me want to cheat, in fact, I am actually craving MF meals, I look forward to everything but the shakes. I like the shakes ok, I just prefer the hot meals better I guess. I really enjoy the bars too, but for some reason I don't have them very often.

I am reading everyones journals, and I hope for good things for all of you, but forgive me please, I am just not in a place right now where I can be cheerful supportive Kelly.. I am just too disheartened. I'm sorry.

Hey there Kelly,

I am so sad that you are having a rough time right now. PLEASE TRY TRY TRY to get in EVERY SINGLE one of you meals. I honestly believe that the reason you are not losing is because your body is feeling cheated right now. You have to give it the nutrition it needs or you will not see the results you want. I know that it isn't ideal and certainly not recommended, but if you have to double up on something to get them in that would be better than not having the meal. For example, have a pudding and a shake or a shake and a soup or mix two soups. You really do need to get that nutrition in you!!!!!

A thought about your cycles... remember that excessive weight loss does cause a release of estrogen from the fat cells. It is not unheard of for women who are losing lots of weight to also experience "side effects" like missed or whaky periods. Does your OB/GYN know about your weight loss?

RM is right on, your body is probably feeling cheated.

In listening to the Nurse's call and also speaking with Nancy, getting in those meals is ultra important. I wouldn't double up on products though, but perhaps have them an hour to an hour and a half apart if you need to space them closer. (Too many carbs all at once)
Its important to not let our bodies think that we have too much as well as too little.

Hope things get going smoother soon.

Hiya, Kel.

Gosh, sweetie -- you've GOT to try to get those meals in. Are you having something within an hour of getting up? Don't worry about not liking the shakes. (Ideally, you'd have 3 a day, but there are days I don't have any shakes at all -- just other stuff.)

And if you're CRAVING medifast meals, HAVE one. I remember my second month, I think I had pudding 3 times a day because I COULD! Keep stuff handy and go for it. (I keep the cappuccinos and a portable handmixer with me.)

The other thing that really got me going again was the Momentum stuff.

The other thing, though, is don't worry about the blankety-blank scale. :x I'm just now back down to where my ticker says, but I'm smaller than the last time I was here. . .hmm. So, the Almighty Scale Does Not Rule Supreme! In education, we talk about triangualting data -- making sure we take at least 3 sources to paint a complete picture. The scale is one piece of data. Your clothes are another. How you feel can be a third. (I know you're down right now, but do you have more energy? Are you becoming more capable? Is your wit back?)

Know that you are NOT alone in this struggle!! And if it was easy, everyone would be at a healthy weight. Get your food in, drink your water, keep "hanging out" with folks here on the board. We'll get there together, Kelly!
Here's to our mutual success! :buddies: --Diana
