January 2006 Real Meal Deals

Postby Nancy » January 3rd, 2006, 2:09 pm

  Hi there and Happy New Year to you, MakeMeThinner Forum Readers!

I am so glad that you checked in here to see what’s new and shakin’ for January 2006.

The Medifast :buddies: chemists and :chef: dietician have been working in the lab and recently announced some new products.

:secret: Scoot over, Dinty Moore! It’s not quite ready for ordering and eating yet as the packages are being printed but Scouts, you be ready and on the  lookout for the new Medifast Beef and Vegetable Stew – it will be released later this month. :wavie:

The new Peach Oatmeal is available for sale now and I hope that you like it as much as we do.

We recently taste-tested it here in the MakeMeThinner cottage kitchen.

Terry, Unca Tim and I tasted the first batch right out of my shaker jar.

Yes, I confess that I am a Lazy Leopard Woman and rather than use a microwavable bowl, I actually nuked the peachy keen concoction right in my original Fast Shake shaker jar on high power for one minute.

Gave it a stir and returned it to the nuclear box for another half minute or so.

The consensus is…we liked it! :3head:

I really really liked it – it has little hunkies of fresh-tasting peach.

I tried a second packet and added a teensy (and I mean a teensy!) bit of cinnamon to it. After I cooked it, I allowed it to sit for 5 minutes to develop its full flavor.

My first impression of the first packet was that it tasted a bit ‘raw’ to me – like oatmeal that needed to cook a while longer.

The additional few minutes of :felix: wait time made a great difference.

I think the Peach Oatmeal will soon be a real flavorite for you, too!

:cateye: Remember, oatmeal is NOT just for breakfast – it can be enjoyed any time of the day. I like to have a serving of Medifast oatmeal or Chai Latte just before bed – it makes the late evening news so much easier to take!

:coach: The January Product Special is Creamy Broccoli Soup (item # 5700).

Regularly priced at $14.35 per box of 7 portion-controlled packets – now on sale while supplies last for $11.50/box.

:scratchhead: Good deal, huh? $1.64 per packet!

With 110 calories and 400 grams of potassium this whey-based soup contains 15 grams of protein.

You may use it as part of the 5 Medifast meals for folks on the 5 and 1 Weight Loss Program.

:hmmm: I absolutely cannot get my husband Terry to eat broccoli of any kind – even if I dip it in crunchy peanut butter, the bush-shaped green stuff will not enter his mouth. (I have to be a closet broccoli eater as he gags if I steam broccoli, cauliflower or asparagus here at the MakeMeThinner Cottage!)

However, he will eat Creamy Broccoli Soup!

It does not have a strong taste of brocc and with a package of crunched up Medifast Garden Vegetable crackers he is satisfied and so am I because I know he is getting at least 20% of his daily nutrients in the one packet of Creamy Broccoli alone.

;) For best results…to prepare the Creamy Brocc (or Creamy :tomato: Tuhmater or Creamy Chicky) Soup, stir a packet into a large mug of cool water. You need to allow some room to stir and mix so don't fill the mug to the brim or you will have sloppage...

Yes, it takes some stirrage here – it is not instant blend-o-rama – stir it and then nuke it for a minute.

Stir again and then depending upon the power of your microwave, nuke again for an additional 30 seconds to a minute.

I do not recommend that you bring it to a boil – it will get :x gloppy and not taste good. :brickwall:

It is not best to dump the packet of Creamy Soup into the cup and to add boiling water to the soup powder, it doesn’t mix well and there will be little bloblets of soup. :point: Don’tcha just hate it when ya cough up green powder blobs?! :puke:

Check out the Lean Cuisine web room for more ideas but some things to consider adding to the Creamy Broccoli Soup are Mrs. Dash™ seasonings – I like the Lemon Pepper added to the Creamy Brocc soup or the Extra Spicy (Mrs. Dash seasonings are sodium- and MSG-Free blends of natural herbs and spices). Also great added to the soup is curry, garlic, oregano, and/or parsley.

For your reading pleasure and for you basic Medifast trivia aficionados:

The Creamy Broccoli Soup contains less than .5 grams of lactose and is considered to be lactose free.

:whattha: Yup, of course it’s caffeine free!

Low glycemic and endorsed for people with diabetes – :coolnana: hoo-hoo-hooray! Something delish for folks with diabetes!
The Creamy Broccoli Soup is surprisingly soy-free…

It is not vegetarian endorsed, however as it contains some chicken fat.

For those who are to know or need to know: Tests on all flavors of the Medifast creamy soups did not detect gluten but the creamy soups do contain oat fiber, which contributes to gluten.

:byebye: Buh bye for now and thanks for checkin’ the sale prices. At any price, Medifast products are worth it.

:secret: When I weighed 267 pounds, I was so :help: desperate to lose weight I would have eaten cat doo and paid twice the price for it.

Aren’t we blessed that Medifast tastes great and is affordable? :shades:

I used to spend a lot more for my lunch than the $1.64 per packet of the sale-priced Creamy Broccoli Soup and the $.48 cent package of Garden Vegetable or MultiGrain crackers.

My prescriptions, large-size clothing, the emotional pain and the physical pain in my feet, knees and hips cost me a whole lot more than what it costs to use Medifast.

With the MakeMeThinner Medifast Support Forum and the Take Shape For Life program, you get the assistance of a personal coach and all the latest juicy information about our programs and the wonderful medically-approved products!

Let’s get thinny and skinny together! :stroll: :stroll: :stroll: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I am raising my shaker jar to your improved health and to your success!

P.S. Hi again…

I received a great PM from a relatively new Newbie and thought it is worth sharing with you.

The Comment:
I love the creamy brocoli soup. :bib:

The Inquiry:
Do we buy this [the Creamy Broccoli Soup] like everything else, just at a discounted price?

And if we do the auto ship is there an additional percentage off?

Or if we buy a case any more of a discount?

My reply:

The Creamy Brocc soup can be put on your January Auto Ship order and as long as supplies last, it will be charged at $11.50 per box rather than the regular price of $14.35 per box.

To sign up for or to make changes to your existing BeSlim™ (Auto Ship) order, contact your Health Advisor or TSFL directly. With your best interest at stake, Do NOT, I repeat, Do NOT make any changes to your Auto Ship order on line...

Take Shape For Life requires a $75 a month minimum order and a minimum of two days' notice to cancel or change an exiting BeSlim™ order.

:coach: It is my gentle and humble suggestion that you make changes to your BeSlim™ order a minimum of three or four days in advance.

:secret: I try to notify my clients five days in advance of their BeSlim ™Auto Ship pack and ship date but my clients do not always tell me when they change their Auto Ship date and if they do so and don't tell me, I have NO WAY of knowing that such changes have been made...

The Creamy Soups are packaged 12 boxes to a case and any time you purchase a case of any product, you get a 10% case discount price.

 Please note: Not all products are sold in case lots of 12 boxes. The Medifast 55 and Medifast 70 shakes come 48 boxes per case; Medifast Plus for Diabetics shakes have 12 boxes per case; the RTDs have 27 single drink boxes per case; Essential 1 meals have 72 packages per case…

The full regular price per box of the Creamy Soups is $14.35 for 7 packets.

:puter: Let’s do the math here...

12 times the full regular price per box of $14.35 = $172.20 full retail price for a case.

$172.20 times .90 = $154.98 case price with the 10% case discount.

The usual case price for the Creamy Brocc, Creamy Tomato and Creamy Chicken Soups is $154.98 but since it is on sale this month WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, the case price of the Creamy Brocc Soup is $124.20...

Now the really truly pock-a-dooly juicy thing is this…when an item is on sale AND you buy it by the case AND you are in the BeSlim™ Club (Auto Ship program), you save even more!

Some of us are at the 12% discount level…now THAT’s true value, Folks! :bananadance:

Hi, Marcia ~

Yes, there are quite a few posts woven throughout the MakeMeThinner Support Forum regarding the BeSlim (Auto Ship) Club.

You can use the search feature clicky ^ up there and type in the word Auto Ship and type Nancy in the author box. You will find a load of them.

Here's a link to one of them:
http://www.makemethinner.com/forum/diet-4086.html

If you call the toll free number on our website, we can help you, too. Sometimes it is easier to talk about it than to :puter: type it all out.

Hi Marcia,
The monthly specials and promotional discounts can change from month to month.

If you're a new client to TSFL, I suggest you call the 800 number at the top of this page (Up there^) and talk with one of our Health advisors. They will go over the program with you, find out about any health issues you may have and suggest the products/program that best suit you, and will be sure you take advantage of any promotional discounts that are currently available.

Welcome to the forum.
We're glad you found us...:)
