Dont beat yourself up. Maybe once training if over you will be able to get back into it. Have you tried to prebake some oatmeal and bring it in as a quick snack instead of having the shakes? That way you can still get your MF and it wont be preptime messing you up.

It's like cheating on a spouse- once you do it once without getting caught (or gaining weight) it becomes easier to do.

My cheating problem started with adding extra ketchup with dinner. Then added a tsp of olive oil to my chicken, then some extra ICBINB spray to my veggies.... They are not the worse things I could do- but they are all gateways to doing worse things- like eating bread, chips, whatever.

I could try that. Maybe I will look up the recipe while I make dinner tonight.

Have you thought about writing out (10) reasons that you want to lose weight ? A good friend of mine once said :

"Reasons are stronger than goals. Goals are the 'what;' reasons are the 'why'. Define your reasons before you seek your goals."

It hit me with regard to what we are doing here with TSFL. I wrote out my reasons and I am quite happy that I did. Sometimes when I am in doubt, I think about those reasons (or I read them) and I realize that what I am doing has a real purpose behind it (and it's bigger than any flavor or mere physical craving). That makes a difference for me, and perhaps it would for you, too.

Hope things perk up for you, and just start again tomorrow... it's a clean slate and you have valuable lessons to help you out with it.

Best wishes,
Karli

That is a good idea. Maybe I will work on my list tonight and that will re-motivate me.

YES! I need that momentum back! I got lazy!!!!!!!

Well, it's Day Two with no cheating. And I had a REALLY bad day at work today. So I will give myself a pat on the back. Tonight is hamburger night so I am excited.

It's a big week for me.

I am declaring independence from the scale this week.
I am also re-starting the gym on Monday.

I am weighing myself today, and then not weighing in until September 1st. I depend on the scale too much and let it run my life.

So... I am 156.5 today.
September 1st...._________

I plan on going to the gym 3 days per week and doing 30 minutes of cardio on my arch nemesis, the Precor Elliptical machine. I am also going to start doing 200 crunches per day to try to eliminate this god-awful belly fat.

I will check in to update my gym attendance. But I promise no scale action until September 1st!!

Good luck on the scale-less month! That would be tough but you have to do what you have to do. 100% compliance on the program will bring you HUGE numbers!! I know you can do it!!

Glad you had a blast in Bermuda!!!

Hang in there and NO LOOKING AT THE SCALE :hide:

Smarti
Restarted 9/29/08
1st month = 16.7 lbs
2nd month = 9.5 lbs
3rd month = 10.8 lbs

You go girl! Glad to hear you have been compliant. It makes ya feel so good when you don't "cheat". Keep it up, I look forward to NOT weighing with you! ;)
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Start Weight 326.7 ~ My short term goal will put me at 250!

Started June 19th 2008. First Mini Goal 76.7 pounds.

BeachBaby,
I was afraid to try the chili because people seemed not so enthusiastic about it. When they did mention it, it was to share recipes to doctor it up and make it edible. So I was skeerd of it. It took me a whole week to get up the nerve to try it, and now it's one of my faves! I do add a little cumin to it though, and LOVE it with the garden veggie crackers. YUM! I think I'll have that for lunch!

You can do it! My goal for this week is complete compliance for the next five days (including today so M-F)

I may not even weigh in tomorrow morning and just stick with the 201.5. I'm not sure yet. I'm sort of worried that if I pull out the scale I won't put it back away.

I'm also glad to hear you like the chili. I don't think it's that bad either :) I am sooo done with soup though right now and want nothing more than get rid of mine :)

I re-weighed today to officially start the "No-Weigh" with everyone else.

155.9.

I was hoping to see a bit more on my first week back from vacation. But I am NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER.

6 glasses is NOT ENOUGH!!!!
