DAY 25

Today's weight = 196.0

I really am feeling quite good! I am quickly getting close to the 30 day mark on this program and that excites me. I am realizing quite a fe things about myself on this journey.

Firstly, I am a mono eater. I think I always have been a mono eater...primarily eating the same things day in and day out with occasional changes here and there. But since being on this plan I notice it a lot more. Every day for the last week I have steamed chicken breast with red chili paste and green beans. My body loves this! Normally I eat TONS of beef but have only had beef twice since I began MF and both times it was because I ate out. My MF meals are the same most days too, usually it is a chocolate shake at 7am, oatmeal at 9:30, random shake at noon, oatmeal at 3, and my chicken meal at 6, and my frozen chocolate pudding at 9:30pm. I'm sure I will end up with a lot of left over food of all the items I am not eating. (soups, chai tea and vanilla shakes)

Secondly, I realize now that losing weight can finally be done without constantly THINKING about it! That is the most freeing thing about this plan. I hate thinking aobut it all the time. I am down 14 pounds and actually haven't though much about all the things I am missing which is saying a lot considering it's the holidays and that I also work in a tax office where there is always FOOD around.

I don't really nibble or snack much so it's easy to avoid all the goodies and lately I've noticed that I get full pretty quick.

Today was the first day someone asked me if I am losing weight and how much have I lost. :D My shrinking co-worker also said she can tell I've lost weight and asked me if anyone has started asking if I've changed my hair. I thought that was quite funny! I was thinking people wouldn't notice I've lost weight until I got to the 20 pound lost range.

So far all of the gifts I have received are gift cards to stores and not Starbucks or food places and that is cool! I did however get a gift that I have never seen or have never tried...it's a CAKE in a jar! It's a cool concept and I guess the cake was cooked in the jar so you simply open it up and spoon it out. I may just give it to my daughter though...i'm not much of a sweets person.

My cousin still has not decided to do MF yet. I really thought as she noticed me losing weight that she would join me in this journey but each time we talk about it she is still reasoning (or making small excuses) why she can't do it. Hopefully that changes soon.

I am doing much better on my water intake but it does seem to make me feel full faster.

Anyway...I have to go now but I wanted to touch base here...seems like I haven't been around much. It's been super busy here at work.

DAY 29

Today's weight = 193.2
I am down a total of 17 pounds in a month. COOL!

I had a long talk with Nancy on the phone regarding MF and eating on plan and things of that nature. I have had days of not really eating on plan due to ill planning. Those days I have had two L&G's (smaller sizes) or I have bought Starbucks tall w/ soy. Nothing I have done has made me go off plan completely...I basically start with the next meal and keep it moving.

I got a whole new supply of MF products, mostly shakes but a few new items. This time I have chili and the snack crackers, cheddar and garden veggie. Hopefully I'll be able to take some with me to Las Vegas.

I wore my size 10 stretch jeans to work yesterday. LOL! No telling what size the jeans really are, but I didn't wear them out dancing last night since I was tired of working my waist out holding in fat all day. So those size 10's are by no means fitting right yet, but I did zip them up and wear them all day long.

I hope everyone is doing well and not stressing out too much on the holidays. I haven't really started shopping but I will.
Happy Holidays!!!

wow! you are really pushing out the numbers, girl. Congrats! Stretch jeans are like a double edge sword aren't they? They will have us believing that we are a size 2 when they will actually stretch to fit a size 8. Hey, as i always say, WHATEVER WORKS! I can't WAIT to fit my butt into a size 10, stretch or otherwise!

Day 30

Today's weight 194.

Thanks TAWANDA!

It's that TOM. I feel super weak which is odd. I have a thousand things to do today and dont feel like leaving the house and I certainly do not feel like shopping.

Erica,

I do agree, I have no idea what size those pants really are,but I know for now that I like the fit of my size 12's much better. I haven't been doing my squats and lunges much this week and feel as if my butt is getting mushy/soft. Hopefully I get more of a daily routine going on soon and it will help me fit in those jeans!

Day 32

Not sure what the weight is...although judging by my hands I may be down.

I had so much going on this morning that I forgot to weigh in. I barely remembered to grab a supplement this morning...

So far so good today.

I ate off plan for two of my meals yesterday, had a small amount of something my sister cooked (she has NEVER cooked anything) so I tasted it mainly because her feelings were hurt. I didn't mind though. It wasn't L&G but it was only crab meat and potato. Thankfully it was bland and tasteless and didn't trigger a need to try more! LOL! Poor girl really can't cook. I had alcohol on Christmas eve with no trigger, although it didn't make me crave anything, I also didn't want to take a chance that it would do something crazy.

I feel really well hydrated the last few days. I drank a lot of water which seems to have caused me to lose a few more pounds. I suppose we'll see tomorrow.

I notice that on the weekends I get in my 6 meals easier becasue i'm up later than during the week where it varies from 5-6. I got snack cracker this order and they are sort of helpful because I really have a need to hear something crunchy on occasion...before I got them I was eating a lot of ice.

Yesterday my grammy asked me if I was still doing MF and I told her yes. She said she could see weight loss in my face and tummy! That was sort of cool to hear because sometimes my grammy can be quite mean (does not mince words) so hearing a nice compliment coming from her was BIG. She also lost over 140 pounds about 5 years ago and has kept it off and I know part of that is that she is strict with her diet 90% of each year. Her non- strict times are limited for LIFE to special occasions. I guess that is how I view this plan for me and it seems to be working for now. I'm constantly thinking about my decisions and that is such a positive thing for me with this plan - I'm really happy and proud of this first month.

I realized today that I have started my second month on MF. Basically I had 3 non-compliant days the first month but of course I feel not getting all the meals in for a day is also non-compliant so that would make 6 days total. This month should be better as it will be a lot less going on at work and I also have planned time off that I am looking forward to. REST and RELAXATION here I come!

Hi Cgal67,

Thanks for stopping by my journal. I spent some time reading yours and it is very inspiring to read. I have struggled with my weight for about 6 years now. I have also tried atkins and south beach and did okay for a while, but only gained the weight back plus more. I have probably been on every diet available to man; but as soon as I have an off day that's it. I'll stray for months or more and then realize I've gotten even larger. I have been medifasting since December 8th, 2007; however, I've had several dental procedures done in the month of December. I had to have a deep cleaning on the left side of my mouth; then 1 week later the other side of my mouth. On December 19th, 2007; I had to have 3 root canals. This in the beginning was suppose to be 3 crowns, but the dentist found decay to far down just for crown. So, I have this horrible packing in my teeth and it is very uncomfotable. I'm trying to stay on plan; I did stray on Christmas Day just a little; because I'm really focused on losing 50 pounds for sure. My not being able to chew was probably more effective then I wish. I'm at 217.5 pounds; I started at 235. For me some progress is better than none. I tend to get disappointed in myself very easily. I have to keep trying. I'm only 5' 5", but 175-180 will be suitable for me; I'm somewhat on the muscular side. I just wish the fat around my waist would disappear; but it seems like my breast are vanishing instead. LOL

Hello Exotic,

I really can't believe any one would find me inspiring, but thank you!!

I'm on the muscular side as well which makes it at times (scale wise)seem like I'm heavier even though I actually look smaller. When I get to 180, most people will guess my weight at 155-160, at 140 they think I need to stop losing and eat and I'm only 5'2. My legs tend to get small before anything else so I do try to get in a few days of sit ups, push ups and things to help speed problem areas along. My theory is that if I build some muscle, it will help with my overall metabolism as well as help out MF to get me smaller.

I don't get too down on myself and I have to admit I do feel a level of comfort and "movement" within MF plan. I had a few days where I experimented with the carb levels by having 2 L&G's which did help out with the stall. That gave me peace of mind just the same as when I'm very compliant. I say all that to say, be hard on yourself enough to keep in check, but also remember we are human and each have different needs and ways of coping. *just my opinion* :|

One thing that keeps me mindful is my addiction to the scale. I'm less likely to stray off plan when I weigh in each day (which is 90% of the time). I also find comfort in realizing that I really didn't think I'd find a plan where I could lose dang near 20 pounds in a month, so I have no plans of getting off MF until I'm in my boal range, but I also plan to stick to variation of the MF plan for a solid year. The execption would be if I outright got to skinny, then I'd have to re-evaluate - but I don't see that happening.

 I tell you I really HATE dentists...so I do feel your pain! I hate to have pain anywhere above my neck, it makes it hard to focus on anything else.

Sounds like you are doing really well on your weight loss, you are almost 3 weeks in, down 17 pounds and battling tooth pain all at the same time! CONGRATS, you sound like a trooper!

Chat anytime!

I know...it's funny you say that because my weight has been holding steady at 194 (I should change my ticker) and yet my cousin told me yesterday that I am getting too skinny! LMAO! I have a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG way to go!

I can't wait to go to Vegas, I sure hope I can hit the 180's that week.

Did you ever decide to go take a visit?

It's hard for me to think of 140 and 5'2 skinny - although compared to where I started this journey, 140 will be skinny but I'll still want to lose another 20ish pounds. 140 is probably the smallest I maintained in my adult life. I was a 8/10 depending on the style of pants. I found some pics the other day of me at that weight and wondered how I'd feel when I got back there.

I'm so jealous you're going to Vegas - its my favorite place to go!!! I met the love of my life there so it holds a special place in my heart. Have fun!! And you know with all the moving you'll do while there that the scale WILL MOVE!! Just stay on plan and away from all the cheap food! LOL

Last time I got down to 140 I was in a size 5. I liked that size and everyone thought I was skinny and wondered howt the heck I lost weight. Back then I used to be addicted to the STAIR MASTER logging an hour a day.

hmmm....I guess there really is something to that whole exercise thing. *he he he*

As for Vegas, I love it but if I eat out it will not be the cheap stuff...but more than likely something from Emeril's restaurant. I haven't decided yet. But I do hope to get a lot of walking in.
