What is the difference between Medifast and Optifast?

Postby MartysGirl » May 19th, 2004, 5:11 pm

I'm on Optifast now. I pay about 250 a WEEK plus the docs fee. I noticed that they have medifast on tv and etc. If I can do the medifast and save myself the docs fee I wil!

Can someone please tell me what the major differences will be?

Thanks

Oh Tim, you forgot something real important. Additionally saving that $750 per month, you can come here for free, and get all the support, or beatings you need, only for the cost of your internet connection.

And, we don't require a weekly blood test!!

Let's see Optifast EVER boast this type of support! Not.

MG, welcome!

I did optifast several years ago and unless the program has changed I WAS STARVED the entire time. On MF (4 months now) I have not been hungry at all unless it is just about meal time or my mind is emotionally wanting to eat!

My sister started on Optifast and was dying of boredom. She took the Medifast info to her doctor and she approved the change. I'd ask the doctor and see what they say. My doctor was very much in favor of the Medifast program for me, which makes me think that most doctors would approve of it. Can't hurt to ask! Welcome to the forum, the best place for support you'll ever find. Good luck.

Very briefly - Optifast is a whey protein-based product.

The mainstay products of Medifast are soy protein-based.

We do offer whey-based products as well.

The previous posts mention other differences, see the link.

Medifast :kool: rocks! It tastes GOOD! Optifast tastes yucky, IMHO. :eck:
