Veggie Question

Postby parrotmom » December 5th, 2003, 11:56 am

Hi, everyone: My name is Amy (username "parrotmom"), and I introduced myself in the "Come On In" section earlier this week. My first week ends today, and my first weigh-in is tomorrow morning! My clothes already feel looser, so I anticipate good news on the scale tomorrow :D

My question is this: what are the allowable salad veggies? For instance, I've been craving some cucumber and green peppers. Are these OK? How about mushrooms? Onions? Tomato?

Thanks!

Hi Amy,
You can have between 1 to 1 1/2 cups of any low-starch vegetables including asparagus, green beans, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, snow peas, spinach, zucchini, or tomatoes.

Mushrooms and onions should be fine too. I'll have to look into cukes and green peppers for you. Medifast is a low enough calorie diet, that i'm guessing a small portion of most any veggie shouldn't hurt.

Thanks, Unca. Just want to be sure I don't boo-boo now that I'm on a roll! (uh, speaking of motion, not bread :D )
