Am I Supposed To Be On Medifast?

Postby ascicles » July 26th, 2006, 5:29 pm

I have been seeing a lot of ads for medifast lately. They have been in magazines, on television, even on the radio. What's the one thing that all of these ads have in common? NO MEN.

What's up with that?

Men don't like to talk about dieting? Women talk about everything.

You know I don't see any of those ads here in Ohio.

However, believe the men are there, quite of few of my clients are men and they do sooo well on the plan!

They're waiting for you, Manly!!! Once you've arrived at goal, the promo spot's yours!!

I can see it now... camera zooms in on the back of men's hiking boots, then spirals up a very solidly masculine figure (jeans and...something intriguing on top -- can't settle on an image here). Narrator: "Is your butt too big for stadium seating? Do your shirts have ring-across-the-belly from the steering wheel? Are your hunting camos roughly the size of a small country? You need MEDIFAST" Camera ends on Manly's smiling face as he proudly proclaims "It worked for me! It'll work for you, too!"

Ending title as Manly's out of focus form swaggers into the back of the shot: "MEDIFAST: a REAL man's program"

Thats so true. Have you noticed that Nutrisystem has started advertising a program for men?? It looks the same as the women's program.

I had one pop up on a website I was on the other day. I called Joelie into the room to show her. They have really stepped up their visibility. We see ads each month in one of Joelie's magazines.

The only reason I know about medifast is because of another forum I post in. A lot of people started doing it together because of one person's success.

Without that, I never would have started doing this program because the ads make no mention about guys. I would have just assumed that it was a program specifically designed for females.

They better pay me a lot of money for me to ruin my good name by hunting, fishing, and driving a racecar. Yuck.

I noticed that! Interesting that they market to women's vanity and men's fear of impotence... It cracked me up and I pointed it out to hubby. He says "Well you got to hit'em where they live!"
