Sunday Morning Roll Call, January 30, 2005

Postby raederle » January 30th, 2005, 7:57 am

It's weird being the first (Spidey, are you still sleeping? ;) ) , but here goes...!

I can post a one-pound loss since last week, but that one pound has me jumping for joy because it's *really* a three-and-a-half-pound loss, since I inexplicably gained a few pounds and then stayed there for days this week despite sticking religiously to the plan. But I perservered, kept my patience, stayed on plan despite that nasty scale, and I was rewarded! Yay!

Of course, I *knew* that Mike and Nancy and everyone else was right... I just had to see it for myself before believing...

I hope everyone else had good weeks, too! Happy Sunday!

Okay, okay, I might as well start this process now, even though my food isn't here yet and I haven't started, but my "starting" weight is 297 pounds. I will have a more official starting weight next week then the female stuff has subsided, but that's my story for now and I'm sticking to it!

Wow, the first 3 posts are all from VA girls!!! (living in Texas now, but my heart will always be in VA).

Hi all -- Congrats to everyone on their losses. I'm not reporting official numbers until my scale comes in ... I ordered it last week and it is supposed to arrive on Tuesday. However, on this terrible scale I have now it appears I have a 2 pound gain OVERNITE????? I almost cried  this morning when I saw it ... but then I told myself it's either the scale or your body holding onto some water because I have been completely program compliant for 15 days.

:x

But, then I came in here and read through all the posts, drank my shake, and feel much better. If its a stall, then I'll shake my way through it. Tomorrow, the next day, next week .... sometime very soon, the scale will move and then I will be jumping for joy like readerle!

Hope the rest of the "forum friends" have a better weigh in.

Happy shaking!
Ame

Hmm. Well, today completes my fourth week on the program. I have been program-compliant all week, but I guess I'm having one of those weeks where my body is adjusting to the quick weight loss, 'cause I'm down only a half-pound from last week today. Still, that's 22.5 pounds in four weeks. I expect next week will show a good loss again.

Also, I did my measurements today (gonna do those only once a month) and I've lost a total of 8.5 inches!

For you new ladies, Unca Tim posted a link to a spreadsheet for keeping track of your weight, inches, and compliance. You can find it in this thread: http://www.makemethinner.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1913

Wow-- it sounds like everyone is doing great! 24K-- 8.5 inches has got to be a very noticeable difference-- and a half pound loss is *much* better than some other alternatives! I'm sure things will speed up again as time goes by for you and for scrabbler7. They sure did for LadyinVA!

I remember a great post by Camille (hawaiiwhatnot) in which she described how she *averaged* a significant amout of weight loss every month, but each day/week varied greatly. She made it through despite discouraging weeks; we can too! Soon we'll all be losin' like Triskets! WTG girl!

And Jen-- good idea weighing now, cuz you may lose a few pounds when Aunt Flo packs her bags and leaves town, so you'll be off to a raging start when the MF food comes!

PS-- forgot to post that this is the end of my fourth week, too. Total loss = 15 pounds! Yay!

Good Morning All!!
Everyone is doing awesome!
Rae, You hang in there girl!! Sometimes our bodies try to test us I think!
You have the best attitude aboit it and it will indeed let loose of those pounds in no time! those inexplicable gains when we are compliant happen to all of us it seems sometimes, but they go away as well with loyalty to our MF plan.
Va Lady, HURRAY!! You also hung in there and had a big loss!! Good for you!!! It is so rewarding when you see that scale going down!
Jene, Good for you to start being accountable even before the food gets there! That's an excellent way to start!!
Scrabbler, Don't despair please! Hang in there until the new scale gets there and you will be fine! As you can see from thses posts as well as past ones we all have weeks where the scale is not our friend, but we stay true to the MF course and it comes off!
24K, That is am amazing amount of inches lost!! I also have weeks where
I lose smaller amounts of poundage but my clothes fit much looser,so it is working!! You must feel like everything fits so much better!
Triskets, Great job!! 6 pounds is awesome!! HURRAY!! Welcome to the 20 pound club!
Well yesterday was my 49th birthday and I have had 2 parties in 2 days and I still lost 3.5 pounds this week!!! My boss made me a veggie tray shaped like a b-day cake complete with lit candles(celery) and with my name spelled out in spray cheese!! It was SO cute I will post a photo here of it when I download them
This loss puts me at 66 pounds lost in almost 15 weeks!!!!!!!
I went shopping yesterday and bought a bra at Victoria's Secret!!!
When I started this MF journey I wore a 46DD Now I am in a 40D!!
That was the best moment of the day when I could go in there and know that I could actually fit into something in that store!!!
Everyone have a GREAT week and stick to the MF plan and feel awesome!

I think this has been a trying week for just about everyone!

After an only one pound loss for my second week, today I am down an additional 5 pounds from then, making a grand total of 16 pounds gone in 2.5 weeks!

For those who have been stuck on the scale, we had a long gab-fest about it earlier this week:
http://www.makemethinner.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1993&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

I think everyone's success just goes to show to keep hanging in no matter what. The lack of loss is temporary (as I can personally attest!).

my successes this week:
my law school weight is *gone*
my friday & saturday were just awful, and i did not turn to food to solve my problems.

yay for everyone's hard work and perseverance!

Hip, Hip Horray for everyone

Postby Judy » January 30th, 2005, 6:59 pm

:D Congrats to the losers !!!!Won't it be fun after a year to see how much weight everyone has lost from 1/1/05--1/1/06..like maybe we lost the Queen Mary ? Last week I lost 5.50 lbs.. that 25.50 in 4 weeks. 8) I go back and forth between shakin'it and eating the greens, so far its working.( Pardon the pun but only if my bowels worked as well.) Probaly my biggest downfall is the water..but I'm gettin better some days even thirsty after my 64 oz. Well good luck to all of us next week.....

wow, I seem to the only 'old timer' to chime in yet this week....

I didn't weigh myself this morning....and don't plan on it till next week - I'm doing strictly 'ok', the last time I checked the scale I'm still losing very slowly - but I'm having a problem with some non-compliant snacking. Soooo....I'm working on getting my head in a better place - whenever I have a problem like this, it's directly related to what and how I'm thinking.

Congrats to everyone for their successful weeks. Way to go Gang!

Happy Monday to all you big losers! Well I didn't fare as well this week and for the first time ever, must report a GAIN! My image is shattered, woe is me! ;)

I struggled all week to stay with the plan. Ate "weigh" too many meal bars - 2 or 3 per day. Bad, bad Spidey! I'm paying for it now. Anyweigh, I put on 2 pounds this week. I know I'm losing focus because I have not been visiting the group every day and am not getting (or giving) the support that helps me stay focused. So I am resolved to get back on the right track (the one to Thinsville!) and do what I know is the right thing to do.

I hope this is a lesson for others. This support group is very, very important and I think participation should be mandatory. So although I have a lot of work to catch up with today, expect me to be back later to fulfill my necessary duties of supporting all of you and in return, receiving the support I need. I'm off to work a few hours...but I'll be back!
