I hate it when I type my heart out and then lose it - it makes you want to cry sometimes, doesn't it? All that internet therapy down the drain. ;)

I know you'll feel more positive again soon. We can't all be perky every day of the week. And yes, some days will be bad (it's not inevitable, but it's likely) but they don't have to be bad in terms of the plan. Just try to handle the emotions as they come up and not turn to food out of boredom, stress, sleepiness, or whatever else.

Will you be posting your loss tomorrow? Sunday is the usual day (or used to be - not many people post at roll call anymore). You've both already seen great losses - keep it up!!

OK, now I feel bad, so I'm posting. :) I don't really have anything to say, though (except how awful to be allergic to garlic!! I would die.).

Anyway, keep up the good work. And after losing 15 pounds? Tell your hubby to shut his trap!! LOL.

Hey, Orig!

Just reading about your allergies, and yeah, they do indeed "bite!" I am curious, however, if you've ever tried re-introducing any of the foods in really small increments.

I am the queen of different allergies over my life, and went through a really annoying period for quite some time where I had similar allergies to apples and celery, all the itching, especially in the mouth, throat, sides of mouth area. Since I am an avid apple lover, I just decided that it was unacceptable. Ha. (shows my arrogance, huh?) So, I stopped for a while eating any of them, and then I did something funny, I thought perhaps if I cooked the celery a bit, it might take away whatever the stuff is that's making me allergic, and lo and behold, it worked! So I started eating semi-cooked celery and increased the portion size over a period of months, then started cooking it less and less, and now I can go to town on celery without a problem! Funny thing is, once I worked celery back into my diet, the apples no longer posed a problem - I think I developed an immunity to whatever it was (I still think it's the spray they use to keep veggies fresh). ANyway, it worked for me, so I thought I'd mention it.

But I do know many people who are allergic to sulphites, especially in red wine.

Anyway, tangent. :-)

You and the hubby are doing awesome, congrats!

Wow, Leigh, didn't realize we were talking anaphalactic shock - just thought we were talking some itchies! :-) Yeah, you just keep doing what you're doing, I'll mind my own business. Hahah

I have no words to respond to your comment about me, other than thank you, and anyone can do it, and I am happy to be of any help, guidance, and support you need. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I don't come on as frequently as I used to when I was actively MFing, but if you PM me, I'll respond.

You're doing great, keep on keepin' on!

Cheers,

Lauren

Happy Thanksgiving Orig....and so glad to see you started a journal. Sorry to hear about your allergies. I don't have anything like yours but I do have hand excema so I can relate to itchy hands. Zyrtec no longer works for me and I am now on Xyzal. Glad to hear though that you know your triggers.

I read on another post that you saw Bolt. We are celebrating my son's birthday with a birthday party at the theater...all kids...going to see Bolt. Don't know how frazzled I will be after dealing with 20-25 kids...LOL!!

I am so impressed with you and your hubby's progress. You go girl...and tell your hubby you go guy!! WOW!! Totally fantastic...keep up the good work.

I had an unusually hungry week this week which is not normal for me. I even went to Super Walmart during one of my lunches to grab some celery just to help. Isn't that strange sometimes?

Congratulations again!!!!

You know that every time you resist a temptation, you get stronger. So you did a lot of strengthening yesterday!!!

Congratulations on making it through the day - one day closer to your goals.

I think it is wonderful that you and your husband are doing this together.... I asked my husband to do this with me and he laughed in my face... He said Katie I am a chef I have to try everything I make. So he is right. But congrats on getting through Thanksgiving.. I am cheering you on. <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_1_103v.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D18%252F18_1_103v%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif">

You know Ed on the Biggest Loser is a chef - and even when he went home he said he was able to stick with his plan. So it can be done, if the will is there! (I'm not one to judge - my will is obviously sorely lacking lately....)

Hi Leigh...thanks for stopping by my journal. You have to share the recipe for the pizza bread you keep talking about...every time I see you mention it my mouth starts to water. I think there is a pizza recipe somewhere here on the boards...just wondering if it's the same one. Please share.

Xyzal is made by the same people who make zyrtec. It has the same main ingredient it's just prescription strength...so if zyrtec no longer works for you...xyzal will...it's a lot stronger. I have no clue how people contract eczema...it's strange. I came down with it when I was pregnant with my son who just turned 8 today. Stress causes it to come on, coming in contact with certain chemicals, winter....I just try to keep it under control. But sometimes the itching and burning can hectic.

Glad to hear that you are doing so well. I am only down 1 pounds this week...I have stayed the same since about Tuesday or Wednesday...I have been up a little but then it goes right back down. I typically do my official weight on Mondays...my weigh date got messed up because of a trip and it has just stuck with me.

I wish you and your hubby continued success!!! :D :D

I'm sorry you had some bad news about your mom. I can't imagine how hard it must be to know something is wrong with your parents but you can't do anything to help or change it. I hope it doesn't progress quickly, as you are praying, and that your mom and dad can still enjoy their trips together for a long time. And though it probably seems unimportant, good for you for staying on plan even after getting such emotional news. If your mom does need help or care, remember you can help her best in a smaller and healthier body of your own. Although it seems I hardly need to say that because you are doing so well.

When it rains it pours, doesn't it? All you can do is be there, for your daughter and your mom. And I'm glad you're not someone who thinks seeing a psychologist is shameful. Kids have so much stress in their lives these days and you are doing the right thing by being supportive and helpful. Unconditional love is the best gift you can give to anyone - including yourself, although that is often hardest. Something I'm struggling with right now as well.

Stay strong.

My cousin's daughter (like a niece to me) was a LOT like that at that age. It probably is just her hormones kicking in. While you're waiting to see a psychologist, you might want to keep track of the timing of her emotional issues. My cousin (who has a doctorate in psychology) did that and saw the pattern right away, and it helped her daughter a LOT, just knowing why she was feeling the way she was and kind of being able to predict it.

And I'm sorry about your mom. My uncle has a non-Parkinson's movement disorder and has been helped a lot with medication, so I hope it works well for her, too.

Sorry Leigh to hear about your parents and your daughter. We are here for you. One of my daughters was very moody in that pre-menstural time. She still is during that time but has learned to control it. We still might have an outburst once a year...but not as bad. I sure hope things go better for you.
