Well I haven't been able to save any that I've made for later. I eat them all at once....they are way too good.

I know, I know...I hear great things about planning ahead, but I stink at it. This is why I never plan ahead very well. I am good at last minute things and I think I'll stick with it! From now on I do that day's cookies and do the rest while I am cooking at night!

Sidrah ~

I've noticed that many of us who struggle with foody issues do have difficulty with planning - it seems we are care-givers and multi-taskers for everyone else but for ourselves. If we can set timers, use personal schedulers such as Outlook or something like that to remind us to eat on time. Regarding your oatmeal cookies, I wonder if making several packets at a time and then putting them in the refrigerator or the freezer would work to prevent them from molding.

Single Oatmeal Cookie

Postby Arklahoma » March 23rd, 2006, 12:04 am

I don't have any cups. I wonder if you could make just one individual cookie?

Ark ~

I'm not sure what you mean by 'cups' - do you mean those little paper muffin cup liners? Some people bake their Medifast Oatmeal into muffin cups or little loaf pans. See Lisa in NY's suggestion above ^ it works great!

I usually just bake them right on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper because I am ultra lazy and don't want to have to scrub my cookie sheet after baking time.

If you made one large cookie rather than several smallers ones. the baking time would possibly be affected - the cookies are a tad bit on the soggy side and I should think baking one huge cookie would be tricky.

Good luck!

I saw Suzy's email about making them in the little loaf pans and just figured "why can't I just make one cookie". I've only made these once and I thought it was a lot of time and trouble; however, I hate to cook so that's probably why I don't even make the shakes :-) I only buy the RTD. I'm gonna give it a try.

YIKES ... I don't know where I got the name Suzy. I meant Lisa. My birthday's coming up and I'll soon be 38. I think it's affecting my thinking :-)

It must have been very big LOL. I made them last night and I don't see how dropping the mix in a few drops rather than one big one is much of a difference though. ;)

 Yep, yep, yep, they are indeedy doo small cookies...they don't taste like Otis Spunkmeyer's or Mrs. Field's Cookies but they sure make a :eat: tasty alternative, a portable breakfast for busy people or a tasty evening meal when the rest of the world is porking out on the :couch: couch.

Isn't it  wonderful that we can have weight loss program-legal food and it helps us to become healthier on the inside and we're lookin' so good on the outside, too!

:secret: Plus when we reach our goal weight, we can keep getting the  heart-healthy soy that we've grown to  love and add a few raisins or dried cranberries to the Medifst Oatmeal cookie recipe and we maintain our weight for the rest of our thinny days!

I love MF because I absolutely hate to cook. Just getting me to measure a few ingredients to make the cookies was enough of a big deal but then to have to separate the dough into five sections was just to much. Making one big cookie, which was about six inches across, worked out to be easier for me. Nothing different other than I'm too lazy to make it the traditional way

I made this recipe with Peach Oatmeal tonight and it turned out pretty good. I replaced the vanilla extract with Da Vinci's Vanilla Syrup, but everything else was the same.

A little spongy, but overall it tasted ok.
