Today, one of the teachers I work with said to me, "Wow, that's a great shirt. It makes you look like you've dropped 20 pounds." I smiled a big smile and said, "That's probably because I've actually dropped over 40." I do think she was trying to figure out a "tactful" way of telling me I was looking good (why are people so afraid of offending someone by asking if they've lost weight? For heaven's sake, I started the school year at around 270 . . . I was FAT, people! It's a fact, not an insult!). But for some reason, her comment gave me the giggles - imagine, a shirt that can make you look like you've lost 20 lbs! I have now dubbed this the Magic Shirt, and I intend to keep it forever. I may even start renting it out for an exorbitant fee.

It is a pretty good looking shirt, though, I must admit . . .

Hey there,
I see you live in Oregon -- you could send that "magic shirt" North. We could use it here in Washington.
I think one reason people are hesitant to comment on weight loss is because they are afraid they will be saying to us " Hmmmm I noticed you were pretty fat -- but now you've lost some of it" Weight can be a pretty sensitive issue.
