Hair Appointment ~ NSV

Postby Arklahoma » June 3rd, 2006, 1:14 pm

Went to the salon yesterday and had a very pleasant experience. First time in years that this has occurred so I just wanted to share. The smock that I had to wear was absolutely huge and the chair was not cutting into my thighs. I actually felt kind of normal.

You know that song "What a Feeling" from the movie Flashdance? Every time I read about someones victories, scale or non scale, I just hear that song in my head. What a Feeling it is!!

ARKLA, MY NORMAL FRIEND,

Awesome Experience!!!
Each time I go in to get my hair cut (about once a month) my hairdresser asks me how much more I have lost.
She is amazed! I think she is on the verge of starting MF, but not quite yet!

We get lots of opportunities to let people know about MF, but it's only when they see such a dramatic change that they actually believe it can work for them!
I'm so glad I started when I did and have that all behind me.

Coming up next week is a family reunion of some folks I haven't seen for at least two years.
I can't wait for the response from my sister-in-law from Denver.
I have purposely not told her so I could really WOW her! I love it!

Is this fun or what!

Lizabette ~ I never thought that I would actually say this, but this IS fun which seems really weird to me since I have hated dieting for my entire life. Can't wait to get the report from your family reunion b/c they will be shocked at how good you look. We'll be going to visit my husband's family for Thanksgiving and they have no idea that I'm losing weight. I expect to be at my goal weight by then or at least fairly close so imagine their surprise to see me walk in looking completely different from anything they've ever seen before. I just can't wait.

Diana ~ Thanks for your comments. I hope I can live up to your expectations.

Oh Arkie, I can so relate! At my salon, they use these what seemed to be tiny shirt-like smocks. You are supposed to change into one when you arrive, removing your shirt/sweater so that they won't get color on them. Well, of course, none of them fit me, so they had to use a huge smock (like a cape) to cover me. I guess they keep them handy just for their "stout" clients. Now, when I go to get my hair cut, I go straight to the ladies room and change into a "normal" smock. It felt so good the first time I realized that I could.

Feels great, doesn't it?!?!?!?!

That is so great Ark! Those NSV are just as good as seeing the scale go down.

That is great! Let me tell you what I always hate at the salon....
when you sit in that chair...and they want to make it higher...and they start pumping that bar with their foot....I always wonder...how much harder it is for them..when someone heavier is sitting there! EEKKK!

Denise ~ I know what you mean. I always hate seeing myself from head to toe in the chair that's too tight, when they pump you up in the air.

Janae ~ Thanks for noticing the graphics. I just like to have fun with my day.
