Yes

I have noticed my hair growing faster (including my legs, argh!). I also was losing an alarming amount of hair (thought I was gonna be the funny bald chick). That has stopped. I am using skin firming lotion (even though I don't need to, hey, I'm slick now!) to help with the potential of extra skin, but everything feels and looks better! Isn't amazing what nutrition can do for the body. I can't get over what I must've been doing to my body before!

My hair's OK, but I have MUCH drier skin now than I had before, when I was on Atkins. All that extra dietary fat makes for some gorgeous skin and hair, I gotta say.

I agree with Dogma -- My skin is much drier when I am on MF. I have dry skin to begin with; but now it's really bad. If I don't use lotion morning and night, I have rough dry patches. I've found a new product -- Gold Bond makes it -- Ultimate Healing Lotion. For those of you suffering from dry skin -- this is the best I have found. I've used Eucerin cream on the recommendation of my doctor for years; but this stuff beats that!

Dry skin here too...MEGA dry skin. But then again...I'm in an extremely dry part of TX. A dust bowl actually.

Ame...I 100% agree with you on the Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion. I have some at my desk at work, some in my purse and a big pump bottle at home. The best stuff I have ever used!

Yeah, I guess I should mention that I live in Arizona (dry place) and I'm spending this month in Florida (can you say humid?) That might be helping!

Hair loss -- check
Drier skin -- check

At first I thought the dry hands were from all the extra washings due to frequenty potty breaks. Or perhaps from winter.

I have noticed, however, that my nails are fabulous these days!! No acrylics or silks needed here!

I'm looking forward to the stage when hair growth INcreases!

I have the Gold Bond, too. Although lately for hands I've switched to Neutrogena Hand Cream. A friend who's a manicurist recommended it. And it comes in a nice little tube so it's easy to tote around.

I'm with you on the nails, though. Mine look fabulous lately (well, or they would if I'd get a manicure or something).

Dede, where in FL are you this month?

Yes to the dry skin for me as well, I am the queen of lotion...living here in FL I generally just use sunscreen as lotion, that way I am always protected.

Hair and Skin

I read on Medifast website that taking extra B vitamins, Biotin and zinc everyday can help with hairloss and dry skin. Something to think about!

Maybe that is why then, I do take all those supplements and my hair is growing like crazy my skin and nails are better than ever. I did hear about a supplement that is supposed to help with skin elasticity it is called stePHan elasticity, its kind of expensive but I am going to try it. Im a big believer in vitamins and supplements.

I have not noticed any changes in my hair and skin; however, as a nurse I was my hands about 82,000 x's per day so my skin is always awful. Have been using Neutrogena Norwegian Formula b/c it's thick and fragrance free but may have to try the Gold Bond. Anyone know if it has a strong fragrance? Can't use anything at the hospital with a scent b/c pt's get nauseated easily.

Mine's in a white container.

And Arklahoma, it does have a fragrance; that's one reason I don't use it on my hands. I love the Neutrogena, but only the one marked simply Hand Cream. Love it, love it, love it!!

And now I'm a big fan of some lip balm I picked up at Costco the other day. From Prada, of all companies. Because I get chapped lips a lot here, too.

Mine is also in the white container.

But I KNOW for fact the green bottled stuff is most excellent too.
The white is "ultimate healing", the green is "extra strenght triple action".

I got very very very dry skin about 2-3 weeks in to doing Medifast. It itched like crazy and lasted about 2-3 weeks. Now, it's a lot better. My skin is still a little dry, but I've been taking Biotin.
