RTD's are great! They don't need to be refrigerated so you can take them wherever you go. :) No need to skip a meal.

Hey Frankie!
Yay for the successful completion of Day 1!

Now, I'm not a drumstick gal, but it doesn't seem as though the meat from even two drumsticks would equal 7 oz ~ anybody?

You might try to weigh out 7 oz of chicken to see how much is truly there. When I did that ('cause I had just been eyeballing it), I was really surprised at how much 7 oz truly is. I had been cheating myself of much needed protein, not to mention the satiation factor...especially for the first few days.

Oh, and Pashta's right ~ the RTDs are way yummy. I've only tried the chocolate ones, but they're really rich and creamy. And they can't be beat for convenience.

Keep on shaking, girl...you're doing great!

6 (with one teaspoon olive oil) or 7 ounces of chicken is a lot. Before Medifast I never ate that much on a salad. I can't believe the new quick start quide says we can have 3 cups of lettuce. Who would want to? I mean, the calories and carbs are neglible for lettuce but with 2 cups and all that chicken I have a HUGE plate of food.

Day 2, Mon, 5-7-07

Here's where I am at so far today (To Be Continued....)

7:50 a.m. Strawberry Shake
12:25 p.m. Chocolate Shake (too long, I was starving-stuck at offsite workplace)
So far only 2 cups of water out of my goal of 11 cups for the day (90 oz)
Update:
4:20 p.m. Strawberry Shake (again, waited too long - I was dangerously hungry :? - had a yappy client)
As of 4:30, I've had 6 cups of water so far.
5:15 p.m. MF Snack: cheddar soy crisps
As of 6:15: up to 10 glasses of water now
6:20 p.m Vanilla Shake
11 glasses of water so far
8:30 p.m. Lean & Green: green salad and beef (about 7 oz) - man I'm stuffed!
14 glasses of water for the day....will probably drink one more in bed.

For the rest of the day I will aim to better space out my supplements and catch up on my water.

I will be 100% compliant today!
I got through the hard part: I was starving at 12:00 p.m. when I left my work thing.....the "old me" would have felt justified in heading straight to the drive thru! Instead I drove straight to the office, dropped my bag and made my shake. I am so glad I did it. I have had trouble "believing I could do it" since my bad habits have been around so long.

I must order some bars and RTDs for these situations.

I also told the hubby to stop making the carb-y side dishes, we are all on the L&G!

Also, scale was down 4 lbs today but I assume that is water as I did drink tons of water yesterday. Not sure how that works "physiologically speaking" but I won't get too excited. I will do Roll Call Sunday and see how I am after my first week.

OK, end of day: it is 9:30 p.m. and I just can't eat anymore. That dinner filled me up. Maybe cuz I ate more protein, or ate it so late.....

Tomorrow I need to space out my supplements better.

Hi Ladies! (Donica, Pashta, Biki and Sojourner)

Thanks for the shout out and encouragement :-P

I did not know the RTDs didn't need to be refrigerated - even better! I'm going to order them tonight. I can just throw one in my purse or bag.

And ya know, those 2 little drumsticks were not much - I don't think it was anywhere near 7 oz. I'll do a little more tonight. Though the good part is that I was a little hungry later, which made me sure to eat my "last meal of the day" (choc. pudding). I would normally skip that as I really am not into sweets and don't like dessert and have never been a night time snacker. But last night it sure was good!

Tonight: I will eat a little more protein and be sure to eat all my supplements even though I'm a little behind so far.

It's gotta be a great program when it's hard to get everything in! You've had a great start, Frankie.

This program is so simple. 5 supplements (only one bar, though), one L&G (7 oz chicken or fish, 5 oz. beef or pork) and lots of water!

Keep up the good work.

Actually, 6 ozs of chicken breast & 1 fat allotment, or 7 ozs of fish and 2 fat allotments. (It changed recently.) You can do it either way but Medifast is recommending the new way for gall bladder health and better absorption of certain vitamins.

I stand corrected. And thank you Pashta for that quick rebuttal. We wouldn't want bad information out there!

Thanks. Ladies, for the input on the amounts of protein, etc. I think I might have an "old" quick start guide from Nov. 2005 so think I will try to get a new one w/my RTDs.

The support on this forum is tremendous and I think doing the journal will help me alot. It saved me a few times already when I thought, gee, I better not do that as I will have to write it down for all to see

Day 3 - Tues, May 8, 2007

Here's my day so far:

Yay, Made it Thru Days 1, 2 and 3!

I can't believe I have done so well following the plan "as is". I would normally try to tweak it, add stuff, not eat all the supplements, etc. Kinda stupid cuz it works pretty well "as is". I feel really excited not just about a 4 pound loss already but because my attitude has changed. I feel less defeatist than I have in a long time.

I was a little nervous about a get-together (food based) planned for tomorrow (ya know, fattening snackies and a few glasses of wine) - and I hate to say it but I was glad when it got canceled. I'd rather not deal with too many temptations if I don't have to ;)

Also, going camping with the family this weekend. I'm bringing my MediMeals with me, and will grill my L/G. I will need a few cases of bottled water just for me :o I don't want to miss my first Sunday Roll Call - maybe I'll stash the scale in the trailer (ok, getting a little obsessive now).

Goal For Day 4:
5/1 - space them out
Keep drinking that water
Just follow the rules, just for today

Frankie, if you feel like you need to weigh on Sunday, don't feel shame about taking your scale. I just ended a ten day stall but I can tell you I am glad I stepped on the scale each of those days. I am stronger for it. I wanted to mention that I add a little coffee to my cappuccino too!

Frankie, I like your attitude and your goal list! Keep it up and you will do great on this program!

As for the scale, I completely understand. The first week loss can be a big motivator. I'd probably take the scale, too, but if you wait until Monday to weigh, you can still post in the roll call....just a little late, that's all.

Have a great time.

Camping eh? Don't leave your cooler unattended, especially if it has RTD's in it. ;) Someone else here had her cooler stolen while camping!

You're doing great! I'd take the scale too. :D
