Hi

Postby dede4wd » December 15th, 2006, 9:02 pm

I'm SO GLAD! How's it feel to have two days of compliance under your belt! I'm THRILLED for you! You're almost through the hard part. Plus baking and making all the goodies and not tasting...you ARE committed! YAY!

Yes, the dragon breath is part of ketosis...as is the "sweet pee". I do a lot of mouthwash...chew on parsley, breath assure...It's still a small price to pay for the weight loss! One I'll GLADLY pay! I notice mine's not as bad (or at least people don't complain as much tee hee) when I'm drinking a ton of water, but it might be in my head!

I call my husband "Swee'pea"-now it can have a double meaning. That is a side effect I hadn't notice-now I will be sniffing around when I tinkle, but thinking of you, DeDe!

I do think the hardest part is over!! I feel a sense of "satiation" today and I've only had a shake so far. Then, I measured my self, and I lost an inch in my waist and hips.!! My "trouble-area" is finally back in the "30's" Only 3 more inches to go! And let me tell u, it's been slow moving in that department!! And I'm pretty sure I lost 2 inches in my chest, but I wasnt wearing a bra when I measured, and I usually am. I knew my hooters looked smaller. THANK GOD!!!!
Yeah, I take the dragon breath as a good sign, I just kinda shrug when my husband "compliments" me. Believe you me, he's got no room to breathe!! Gum doesn't help, so I know it's an internal thing. I know chlorophyll can help, but the parsley is fresher. I have some herbs still growing outside--I should go see what's left.
I looked up ketosis last night, to refresh me on the importance of it. A lot of sights said you cant achieve it on anything over 20 g of carbs!! I know thats not true!! Well, thanks to you all for helping me NOT fall off the wagon. And for helping me sit down and buckle in for the ride.

Well, I have ketone strips from my two week try at Atkins and I measure at the "trace" amount of ketones which is a concentration of 5. When I was on Atkins, I was at 40 and dark pink not pastel pink. Medifast is supposed to induce a very MILD ketosis. I do FitDay and I had over 70 grams of carbs yesterday (high due to a Peanut butter bar)at 740 calories. ONE Medifast shake has 10 g of carbs.

And I'm really sorry I went name-tarded on Karli's journal! I did it twice! I was posting something on craigslist and typed bar tab instead of bar stools...couldn't figure out why I had no responses, I think people thought I was trying to sell my bar tab!

Let me give you an overview of my day! It starts with my 3 yr old, Jocelyn, telling me that our beagle, Jesse, has vomited all over the kitchen. I find that he has literally SPRAYED feces all over my kitchen walls, and vomited all over. After I get it cleaned, I head up stairs to find that one of my twins has done the same thing! Fortunately, the hubs was home.
My weigh in was a success, then I had another "twin mom" come over to play. My day ends with a 911 call b/c Jocelyn, who has had tummy issues as well, wakes up from her nap screaming bloddy murder. This is not like her. So I clap in her face, strip her down, splash water on her face, everything, and she cant look at me, she just squeals and points to her side!!
By this time, shes naked in my lap, on the floor, with her head lollong back, like shes passing out. My husband is gone, my twins are crying and half naked, and I call 911. By the time they get here, Jocelyn is standing up, and talking about Santa.
Well, I am not one of those Moms who calls the doctors all the time. In fact, the first 2 yrs of her life, we went twice. But I seriously thought something inside was bursting!!!
My hubs flew home in 30 seconds flat, there were neighbors in my house...chaos....
So anyway, my heart is still pumping!! And I feel like a buffoon!!

FM, you take the phrase "the crap hitting the fan" a little too literally around your house!

Oh, my day started at maybe 4:30 am with my 3 yr old hacking all over my bed. We were up for hours...I asked my hubs to help this morning so I could get more than 3 hours of sleep...He thinks his sleep is far more precious than mine. I am not in the happiest of spirits today. I dont want to do much but sit here and stew. Or sleep. But there are tons of stinky linens to wash. And a house to prepare for holiday guests. Clean the crap off my fans.
