Ugh. I'm not going to post anything about the conference just yet. I'll just say it REALLY wasn't my thing, and there was an issue the last night that I'm contacting TSFL about.

In the meantime, I don't expect to be on here for a few days. Either things will be resolved, or I'll post a farewell explaining what happened.

OK, I THINK everything is OK now. Got a very nice apology from Dr. Andersen, and I'm satisfied with that.

So anyway, where were we? I know, I can continue my saga of dead things (or nearly dead things) in my yard. Not exactly weight-related, but whatever.

So I got home Sunday afternoon, and there was a huge bunny outside the house in the back (not huge like Thugs Bunny from the Weekly World News huge, but big). Thankfully, the dogs were so busy chasing a squirrel that they ran right past it. Good thing, because it was just sitting there, probably too scared to run. So I saw it and told it to go away, but of course it didn't. I went out to the dogs and distracted them till it was gone. Yay. Because as bad as the other dead things were, I really don't think I could handle a dead bunny rabbit.

Then LAST night, another gecko got into the house. The last time this happened, I managed to lure it into a box so I could take it outside and set it free. This time, it wouldn't come down from near the ceiling and I finally gave up and went to bed. So now I guess there's a gecko running around my house and I'm worried it's just going to show up in my bed or my shower or something one day. Or die in my house and stink up the place. Either way, nothing I'm looking forward to.

Oh, and bouncing around between 135 and 135.6, which seems about right for now. I've been pretty good about working out, and I think tomorrow I'm going to call one gym that's supposed to be opening a branch near me (to see where it's going to be) and then join either that one or the YMCA near me. Time to start building up my muscles again. I've gotten a lot weaker in the past year.

I am so glad you got your problem resolved. I know you feel better too. Sounds like you need one of those pest away things. They send out a frequency that is supposed to keep pests like mice, rabbits, etc... out of your yard. Ain't Texas great??? We got critters of all kinds around-----even in the city!

Do you know if they work? And if they won't bother the dogs? I think it's mostly the fruit tree that's attracting them - that, and that they seem to be EVERYwhere around here. I would have thought the dogs would scare most of 'em off.

I'm told the geckos are good, though, because they eat bugs. And I kinda like the squirrels because the dogs never catch them, but they sure are entertained by them. The bunnies are cute, but I don't want them to get hurt. And the rodents I could just plain do without.

He's pretty quiet. No discounts on insurance, either.

135.6 today. I think the humidity is making me bloated. My ring isn't spinning around on my finger like usual. So I suspect if I can de-bloat at some point, I might even be below 135 this week.

I'm off to run errands and join the Y.

Usually it's pretty drama-free. This was a bad week.

Yeah, it was disturbing. A friend who's lived here longer said it'll find its way into the walls and eat some bugs there, and eventually find its own way out.

I don't have one of the pest away's. I don't even know for sure if that is what they are called, but I am almost certain. I know the ones you put on your vehicle to keep the deer from running out onto the road when you are driving work. My dad is in the oilfield business. His truck drivers are always out in the country haulin water and they all have them. They used to hit deer all the time. Since putting them on the trucks, the deer run to the edge of the road, and stop and go back, instead of runnin into the middle of the road and stopping to get hit. I have seen them at Bed Bath and Beyond, and you can probably get them on the as seen on tv web page. They are not supposed to bother domestic animals like cats and dogs, the frequency is too high for them. The squirrels, though, I don't know about.

I've seen the indoor pest control ones. I had a landlord way back when who used one. Drove the tree rat living above me from my ceiling to my neighbor's ceiling. Then when SHE complained, they put it in her apartment, and the thing came back to MY place.
