136.4. Not bad, since I've started using weights a little more and I'm having a small sandbox issue again. I don't know what's up with that lately.

Anyway, food about the same as yesterday since I forgot to pre-make my chili:

Oatmeal
Broccoli soup
Soy crisps
Chicken, green beans
Pudding
RTD
RTD

Hmmmm, never thought of that. Maybe I should drop the pudding for a couple of days to see. Thanks, Joan!

And thanks. I'm still shocked when anyone says I'm an inspiration. But honored.

OK, I'll know be paying for this the next couple of days but ...

They brought in barbecue left over from some meeting tonight. And no, even though I LOVE barbecue, I didn't have the meats or the beans or the potato salad. But I did have some dill pickle chips. (I know, it's not like it's a cheat or anything. But when I'm retaining water and wondering why the scale is going the wrong direction tomorrow morning, I want to be sure I remember what I did.)

Hi

Postby dede4wd » June 24th, 2006, 3:25 pm

Hi Robin,
I just got through your entire journal, and you are SUCH an inspiration! You are so GREAT at accountability! I just want to hit you on the head with Lizabette's skinny stick to convince you that you ARE that size and that you are thin now and you are NEARLY at goal! I'm only violent online, so don't expect me to come after you with a stick when we finally do meet! I just want to let you know that you're so hard on yourself! I KNOW how it is! I still have 2 pairs of 16's in my suitcase "just in case" I wake up and I'm in the 16's. I know how it is! You've done so well and you're such an inspiration and a realist on these boards and I just wanted to thank you for all that you do for me and others!

I'm finally getting through the journals since my computer troubles MAY be over!

Ha. Thanks, Vicky, I know it'll go back down, but it's still irritating. I almost didn't even bother weighing this morning!

And DeDe, ditto here. I see your photos and think "she's so thin, I MUST be kind of thin too by now!!" I might believe it if I could lose the darn muffin top!!

Anyway, today's food:
Chili
Soy crisps
RTD
Steak, turnips (sort of the turnip chips, but I didn't really brown them so they were more just roasted turnips - but so good, I'll be making them again next week!! I'm thinking of just cutting 'em up and making them like roasted potatoes)

Still to come:
Pudding
RTD
RTD, probably

137.0. Not too bad, considering how bloated I still feel. Sore, too, even though I took a day off from exercise yesterday. But did some more unpacking and hauling of boxes, so maybe that's why. Or a delayed reaction to the workout the day before. Who know?

Anyway, slight change in yesterday's food. The evening meals wound up being pudding, oatmeal, then an RTD.

Today, basically the same but with broccoli instead of turnips (I already bought broccoli and zucchini for the next few days, so I'm fighting the urge to run out and buy more turnips; I don't want to waste the food I bought).

Hey, Vicky. Yeah, I ALWAYS overdo a little on the exercise, at least when I start lifting weights. So I'm definitely sore and retaining water. Sigh.

And I know, how nuts is it that I'm fighting with myself not to rush out for turnips??? But with the trip coming up, I'd have to wait till the middle of next week to have 'em again, and they were so good! So I think I'm just going to pick some up today or Wednesday. Maybe someone at work will want my zucchini, so it won't go to waste.

The dog sitter was great. The dogs loved her, but they love everyone. She loved them, too, but that also tends to happen. (Not to brag, but they are really great dogs.) Plus she has TiVo, so she knows how to use one, which is great. And she's in school, but said her first summer session ends Thursday, so she'll be around the house with them a LOT, which is great.

I wish you were going to be in Utah, too! There are so many people from here I want to meet.

DogMa just wanted to let you know you're always one of the first journals I read. I hope you're doing well today. Ever since you gave me advice on the chili its become an every day meal. You ARE inspiring. And VERY close to goal. My only fear is that once you hit goal you'll be leaving!

Thanks, Zinkette. But I promised elsewhere that I wouldn't disappear after I hit goal; I want to check in at least once or twice a week for roll call. It'll help keep me honest, plus I think I'd just miss everyone too much! I want to watch everyone else all the way through to goal, too!!

You guys can't get rid of me THAT easily!!

And I'm good today, despite the scale bounce. I'm sore, which is probably a good thing (means I'm finally working some muscles again, at least). And I noticed today that if I pinch my muffin tops (trying to pinch just an inch), it still fills out my hand as much, but my fingers are closer together (if that makes any sense). So I think I'm FINALLY losing something off my middle.

137.2. Maybe I'm not emotionally ready for working out, after all. The gain, even though I know in my head that it's temporary and it was even expected, is NOT making me happy.
