Anyone on MF Program with Fibroids

Postby VictoriousNat » December 12th, 2006, 3:35 pm

Just wondering if anyone who has been diagnosed with fibroids is currently or has been on the plan. My doctor is talking smack and I want to know if he knows what he is saying.

Hi Nat,
Probably the best thing to do is email the nurse at:
nurse at tsfl dot com

Let us know what you find out.

Thanks, Unca. I emailed Nancy, but I will definitely email the RN tomorrow.

Soy is a problem for some people, though. I have friends who won't do Medifast because they're breast cancer survivors and aren't supposed to have soy. And they think sticking to the whey products would be too restrictive.

Ditto with my sister. I wish she could use MF, but the soy stops her. Does anyone know if this has been addressed by Medifast?

I was diagnosed with fibroids after I went to the doc complaining of stabbing pains in one of the TWINS. They told me to cut out all my caffeine. Yeah, right. I ignored their advice and the pains have gone away. I am not recommending this to anyone, merely stating my experience. As I have demonstrated in multiple posts, I am not the best when it comes to following medical advice.

"with a rebel yell [she] cried 'more. more, more'" :D
Ya lil rebel! Each doctor contradicts the next, I don't know what to do.
Sigh.

well nat, i can tell you, i had a hysterectomy last june due to fibroids - 8 of them, in fact. (I'm 40 and it was a HUGE decision for me, because it was a complete hysterectomy, which means I am on estrogen much earlier than most women). as far as soy goes, i don't recall EVER having one soy product before MF, so I can tell you, it didn't have anything to do with it!! now there may have been soy in something i ate in a miniscule amount, but really, i never purchased any type of soy products... no veggie burgers, no morning star, etc.

hope that helps!!
