Ok, next question...exercise

I've been exercising (seriously) since May of last year. I do the following:

Tuesday and Thursday: 1 hour treadmill at high incline and 1 hour weight training with a personal trainer (very intense workout)

Mon, Wed, Fri: 1 hour aerobics video workout (slim in 6 series)

The "getting started" booklet says to not exercise during the first few weeks. Should I do nothing? I really think that exercise is important and I don't want to give it up. Will it slow down my weight loss?

Hey Suzie, I'm sure one of our wonderful veterans will answer this more thoroughly for you, but...if you are alread exercising, you should cut the exercise in half for the first three weeks, according to medifast guidelines. :)

Thanks for the response Joyce. It took me so long to build up to this level of exercise I'd hate to cut it down now.

If I feel ok, is it ok to just continue with it? What would the effects be? Slower weight loss? Passing out?

Hi Suzie

I'd be careful. I was used to doing 45-60 min. a day on my treadmill. A good cardio!! I tried at day 4 and got very light headed. I decided to just walk 30 minutes a day at a normal pace. I actually walk around my neighborhood instead of the treadmill. :D

Good Luck!

Thanks Sue. I'll be careful.

Well you're in California so it's a little easier for you to walk outside. It gets to be -30 degrees celcius around here some days....just a bit too cold.

oops! Sorry Suzie! I didn't notice where you lived. I guess you better stick to the inside exercise for now.
:treadjog:

My oldest daughter lives in Buffalo, NY and constantly reminds me how lucky I am to be here on the beautiful central coast of California! She was born and raised here, but freezing her hiney off back there now. She's in the Air Force.

Good Luck and Happy MF-ing!!
