My list to look forward to

This is fun!

Here's my list of things:

1. Look good for my wonderful husband and make him proud.
2. To be a role model to my kids in every aspect of life.
3. Have more energy to play with my kids.
4. To be healthy enough to play with my grandkids in my 60s.
5. To look good at my baby's 1st birthday.
6. To look stunning for my family reunion and my brother's wedding.
7. To be able to wear all my pretty outfits that I no longer fit into.
8. To get "my" compliment back..."you just look like a doll". I used to get this a lot and it has been a long time since I heard it from family and friends.
9. To get my confidence back.
10. To be in a gathering and not crack jokes on myself about my weight. I do this a lot unconsciously (sometimes) just to overcome the feeling of what people think of "me being fat".

There! I said it!

I just read through this entire post, and started crying. Of course I may be a little emotional because I am on day three, but I want everything everybody said.....

1. I want my husband to think I look sexy, he says he does, but I want to be able to believe him...
2. I want to play, not watch, my granddaughter play. She has so much energy, and I want to learn from her to be young again.
3. I want my two grown kids to be proud of their mom for the first time in along time. My daughter is alot bigger than me and I have never known what to say to her to encourage her to lose the weight. I want to lead for her by example and show her that it can be done, without surgery and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars.
4. I want my parents to be proud of me, while they are still here.
5. I want my siblings to not worry when they see me about when I am going to have to go on insulin or blood pressure meds. plus I have a standing bet with my big brother that when I get to 150lb he will pay me back the $150 that I paid him for his old treadmill. hehe
6. I want to shop at regular stores and wear regular clothes. I want to find something, anything that will fit me in Victoria's secrets. My husband really wants this one too.. lol
7. I want to go to the Stars games, Mav's game and Dallas Cowboy games without worrying about being able to stand up out of my seat after I sit down. I always get my big butt stuck...
8. I want to go snorkling without having to wear a cover up or shirt over my suit because I am afraid someone will harpoon me.
9. I want to feel good about myself, just for myself. I want to play volleyball again, go roller skating again, play baseball again....
10. Lastly, I want to wake up everyday and know that I am living my life to the best of my potential. Mentally, spiritually, and physically.

And I plan on doing this diet, making the life style changes necessary to make this a lifetime change and being all that I can be, for myself firstly, then so I have the best of me to offer my family and friends..

Okay--ya'll just about summed it all up. But I will post my list anyway.

1. Wear jeans and look good in them. Even tight jeans!
2. We spend a lot of time at the lake, so I want to look good in a swimsuit.
3. Not have our friend call me "big girl" anymore. He thinks it is funny. He has little pet names for everyone, but it really is hurtful. His 16 year old daughter is also overweight and she just laughs it off because that is how she has grown up. I want her to see me "morph" and want to change.
4. Go to the park and play with my kids and not worry about getting stuck in the slide and needing the fire dept. to come cut me out.
5. Shopping where I want.
6. Wearing clothes that button and zip
7. My husband loves me and I know he does. I started gaining weight before we married. But I really want to look good for him. I feel like people look at us and wonder why he is with me.
8. I don't want Max, my middle son, to draw me as a circle with a circle head and stubby little arms and legs EVER AGAIN.
9. No more strangers asking me when the baby is due. Keep in mind I am usually holding my 7 month old son when this happens. Because of his 17 week premature birth, he looks like he is about 10 weeks old.
10. Going to see friends that have moved away. You see, my husband made me a promise. For every 30 pounds I lose, he will take me to see an old friend. So, I will be going to Oklahoma City, to Houston, to San Antonio and to Hawaii. I will save Hawaii for last, because I will be at goal and I will (hopefully) look good in a swim suit.

Top Ten Reasons I Want to Lose Weight
(With Apologies to Mr. Letterman) ;)

10) To weigh less than what my Driver's License currently says. :exercise:

9) To buy a pair of jeans with no elastic waist and with a zipper! :kool:

8. To get off the "Chubby Chasers" bulletin boards and meet guys who like me for me, and not my size! (How's that for a switch?) :weightlift:

7) To no longer worry that people will confuse my first name, "Carmel" with "Big Sur". :question:

6) To have the food hit the napkin on MY LAP...not my tummy. :boing:

5) To have a lap to put the napking on! :yeah:

4) To have my tummy and my rear end arrive at the same spot at approximately the same time. (Right now they're practically in different time zones!) :yes:

3) To make my mom an honest woman... (For the past 35 years she's been telling me I only need to lose 10 or 15 pounds and I'd look good). :roflmao:

2) To have a sideways. (Currently, I have none...) :huh:

and the number one reason I have to lose weight....

To Dance at my Granddaughter's Wedding (She just turned three!) :dance:

What I'm most looking forward to:

1.) To have my husband sing the Trace Adkins song 'Hot Mama' to me and really believe that he means it.

2.) To stop feeling anxious and self concious every single time I have to leave the house because of feeling that I am so fat that everyone is staring at me and thinking I look disgusting.

3.) To be able to wear a size M or even L shirt rather than the 4X's I had been wearing before beginning Medifast. (I am down to a 2X already though so feeling much better) :)

4.) To be able to wear regular jeans in a normal size as my hiney melts away rather than the size 4X stretchy elastic waisted leggings/jeans I've been wearing for several years. (I have made it down to a 2X stretchy elastic waisted leggings/jeans so far so am getting there) :)

5.) To not feel like I've had a workout for doing the most simple things such as showering, walking up a flight of stairs, or bending over to tie my shoes.

6.) To not have my sons come home from school/bus upset because someone has made fun of or told a 'fat joke' about their fat Mom. (My 8th grade 'A' student son got in his first trouble ever at school this year for fighting and all because he was defending his fat Mom & Dad. Talk about guilt!)

7.) To motivate other family members (Mom & sister) to lose weight so that they can feel better and be healthier.

8.) To go out to eat and not have to ask for a table out of fear that I won't be able to fit in a booth. Also, to be able to fit in seats comfortably at a movie, stadium, amusement park ride, etc.. .

9.) To feel feminine and pretty rather than like an Amazon woman.

10.) To feel the pride & satisfaction I will aquire in having been able to reach a goal such as losing 120 lbs., knowing that I am then capable of anything and can really begin to live life again!

I could go on & on but those are the main ones off the top of my head.

Most of my reasons have already been taken but here's a few extra ...

• To be able to choose clothes in any color/style available not just loud, ghastly floral prints
• To be able to dance (would never dream of doing it at my present size)
• To ride a bike w/o worrying about why everyone's looking at me
• Physical activities that I've never been able to try (rappelling, scuba diving, kayaking, dogsledding, etc.)
• Looking hot in my scrubs

But first, Lynne, I remember when you started last year!! And now you are 127 lbs. That is great!! This makes me motivated to get back into the weight loss groove that I was at this time last year.

What I want to do once I reach my goal weight:

1. shop in a REGULAR store for regular-sized clothes
2. Not have to wonder if the seat belt in coach will fit me when flying
3. Go to the beach w/o being too self-conscious
4. Go biking, hiking w/o worrying about keeling over.

I think all of your responses are great!!!

1. I'm looking forward to not being the fat mom at the beach with the brood of kids.

2. Being able to walk with shorts on and my legs not rubbing together and my shorts riding up to my hooha.

3. My image of myself in my brain to actually match the actual me. :)

4. My dh to have a hot wife and not be the fat wife when we go to company functions.

5. To take up jogging again.

6. Not be embarrassed to go to the gym.

7. To tuck my shirts in and wear a belt and not I don't look like a stuffed sausage.

8. Drying all my clothes on high!

9. Playing with my kids and not getting winded in 5 minutes.

10. To be proud when I see an old friend and know that they recognize me.

This is a great thread!

1. I want my husband to look and me in something sexy and have his eyes bulge out!
2. I want someone to say they wish they could fit into my clothing.
3. I want to hear "You just had a baby in December? But you look so good!"
4. I want to hear my mother (a compulsive overeater) to tell me that " I look like skin and bones and I should eat something"!
5. I want to wear a bikini.
6. I want to NOT obsess about having a big belly and just be able to go out and have fun.
