You know you didn't eat thousands of extra calories in the past few days. So obviously it's just salt or lack of sleep or something, and you'll be right back down in a day or two if you keep eating well.

Robin, this is so true, I knew it but still allowed myself to feel the frustration. Obviously I still want that instant gratification of seeing the scale valiadate what I'm doing.

This morning I'm back down to 147.5# . I know I'm not eating the calories and should not be retaining water...but also know there is no set rules on how our bodies will react or when they will react, to this lower calorie lifestyle.

My brother's still going through a very rough patch, he is out of breath just sitting in a chair and has to sleep sitting up in order to breathe. His heart is failing. It is unsure if the doctor's can find a combination of drugs to help reverse what is happening. He sees a radiation oncologist tomorrow morning to find out what his options are to treat the cancer, if he continues to be not a candidate for surgery. He still has to have the upper GI endoscopy and also the colonoscopy to find the source of the blood in his stools. Life is extremely challenging for him right now and sadness is threatening to pull me down to a level I do not want to go to....it won't help him and it sure won't do me any good. I know this, but it is still a struggle.

I've decided to keep my goal weight at 147 for now but stay on 5-1 to see if 140 is an attainable and maintainable weight for me. If it isn't, then 147# will stay as my 'goal' weight.

147.5#---Day 20 since reaching 147# and then bouncing from a low of 146.5 (one day) and up to 149# (one day). All other days 147.5 to 148.5#. Possibly a plateau? Oh well.....it won't last forever.

Thanks aries, Pam and Katie.

I hope everyone is doing well.

T, i'm sure in your case it is your added stress that is causing the unpredictable scale right now. You're right, it won't last forever, your body will adapt and figure out what to do. The good thing is you are still staying within a manageable range of your goal. Keep hanging in there.

147.5# again this morning. Not upset by seeing the same number, just curious how long until the scale will move downward again.

Thanks aries...

 Happy Valentine's Day everyone. :)

Hi everyone. :)

My brother had a full body CT scan yesterday, the doctor is looking for signs that he also has Lymphoma, along with his other cancer. He is still waiting to have the other tests to check for either a bleeding stomach ulcer or colon cancer. He saw the radiation oncologist about radiation for the cancer that was found via biopsy. He is looking at possibly 3 different types of cancers and his heart condition probably will not allow him to be a candidate for surgery. I don't know if he could withstand chemo's side effects either. Lots of tests and waiting right now with no idea of whether his heart will allow him to have any treatments to prolong his life.

My weight is 147# this morning and I figured out the probable cause of the weight loss stall. I was using a coffee mix that DD gave me and did not read the label. It was wonderful tasting and I think I knew, but was unwilling to admit to myself that it wasn't program compliant....well, I finally went through the log of what I have been eating and checked all labels, weighed, measured....and the coffee mix was 12 gr. carbs in each cup (dang, no wonder it tasted so wonderful). The mix is from India and I had to do some internet searching to find the breakdown in US measurements. So, that is where the problem was :3head: and it was my fault for including it into my daily diet... I knew it tasted too good and I will miss it a lot. A lot. :( But, with removing that and drinking all my water the scale moved downward. A good thing...

Hope everyone is doing well....

147# this a.m.

I am fasting this morning (lab work). Some labs say having black coffee is okay--not this one. I'm making do with hot water. I can have a cup of coffee in about 4.5 hours.

Thanks for the hellos and smiley hugs.
