Congratulations! :D What a shock, huh? Don't let the timing dampen your excitement. You are equipped with the tools this time to help keep you healthy throughout and to know how to make quick progress toward goal once your new baby arrives. I do agree with Katie though, please try to keep up with your journal and let us know how things are going for you. We'll be here!

Wow, congratulations!!! That is so exciting! No guarantee, but I have a few friends who continued to lose weight through their first trimester, just from eating healthier when they found out they were prego. It's totally okay to drop 5+ pounds during that time, as long as you are eating nutritiously, bc you're really not carrying around any legit baby weight yet. So don't lose hope!

Either way, mazel tov on the great news, and enjoy the baby glow!

Cheers,

Lauren

Thank you everyone! At this point, I'm going to continue using medifast products wisely... and work on transitioning... I really want to be responsible and not heifer out this pregnancy! I have less than 6 pounds to go to my pre-pregnancy weight for the last one, although I would love to be down a total of 30 pounds before I start packing it on... 8)

Babies are great, kids are awesome! All in all, it's a good thing. But I was so into mf, and wanting to look GOOD this summer...I'm just somewhat down about it. I guess I can shoot for next summer. :| My clothes today feel comfortable. I was down a bit this morning from yesterday. Since I weighed last sunday evening, I am down a total of 3.8 and that's great. It only brought me (so far) down 1.1 from my most recent "lowest" weight. It's progress. Just think....if I hadn't gone crazy last weekend, I would be .4 from being in the dang 180s. Oh well, with any luck I will get there!

Headed out in a few to go walk the mall with the babies!

I've been having a rough few days. I'm still doing 5 and 1, but feeling quite hungry in the afternoon/evenings. I wanted to get down 4 more pounds before I began transitioning, so I'm going to go at least through this week of the 5 and 1.

But I'm feeling awfully tired and rundown which also seems to make me feel hungrier. Today I've been totally OP, although it wouldn't hurt me to bump up the water consumption. I am having a problem with some chocolate chip cookies at home. I finished off the last one yesterday  so maybe I will do better. DANG!!! I am fearful that my body may try to "reject" the soups. I had a heck of a time eating my cr. of chicken last night-it was gagging me and prior to that I loved it! Oh well, shakes and hot drinks are still great. I will be fine keeping up with it! But i'm just really sad that I can't keep on the 5 and 1 indefinitely... But I know I can't. I'm just having a hard time coming to grips with it.

So, I will continue on doing the best I can. I want to transition smoothly and positively so I can "do it right" and plan to continue using 3 MF products a day for my snacks!

I hope everyone is having a good week and I will do my "BEST" to get on here and post more. For now, though-my lunch break is over. I have to get off the internet :D

Hi! :D Glad you stopped by and glad you're still working with your MF program and have figured out how to work it into your pregnancy. I think it is going to make post-baby weight loss so much easier for you next time because you'll already be prepared with the tools to lose the weight, and hopefully prevent an excessive gain, too. I've been weird about the soups lately, too, but add in the fact that you're pregnant and it makes perfect sense that it randomly didn't sit as well with you as it usually does.

How is your friend doing who started MF with you? Mine is on/off sporadically. I've tried to convince her to just hold off and not waste the MF meals until she knows she can commit 100%, but she just seems to be floundering a bit right now. I am pushing forward toward Memorial Day anyway. I'll do it for both you and I! lol I haven't mentioned to her that I'm down 15.2lbs in 3 weeks...despite one incredibly slow week, so she really should have just stuck it out. I suppose that's easy for me to say because I've been on MF before and know that it works even if one week the weight loss is very small, so I am just trying to be supportive without flashing it in her face. She can see for herself when we meet up for the first time and I'm skinny! (Or skinny-ish, whichever. lol)

Anyway, I just rambled all over your journal, but glad you're around today. Keep checking in on us and we'll be thinking of you!

Thank you for the Cyd update! I love it. I will be living vicariously through you and Katie. I will watch you guys pass my weight and beat me to goal before I even have this baby ! I am happy to see it, but sad at the same time...

I posted in roll call about this, but wanted to share how food made me feel this weekend. Years ago, when I did Atkins for the first time, I had been on ATkins for almost two months without so much as a half of an m&m off the program... I went to my boyfriend's home town and went out to eat at the "Waffle something or other". Some local restaurant. Well, he insisted that I get the "Special" that the place was known for-A waffle with whip cream, berries and ICE CREAM on top of it. Well, you can imagine what that did for my body. I felt "Great" while eating it, and about an hour later or so, I swore someone drugged me. I couldn't keep my eyes open, I was so absolutely tired that I could not stay standing or even sitting up... I napped and felt like I was in a Coma. I don't recall that feeling at any other time in my life.. So, we finally realized that was how carbs affect me. IT says a lot about life before the "low carb" thing. It was astonishing to me, to see how carbs affected me.

Well, this weekend was the first time I went "Off" my medifast. I had a cheeseburger friday night and my stomach felt like I had eaten rocks. On saturday, I had my first 2 MF meals, then did otherwise. I am sure it is a combination of pregnancy and "Regular food", but I feel awful. I was so absolutely tired last night, I was unable to do much of anything. And today, I'm just constantly nauseated. But it is a good reminder of what bad carbs do to your body.

Oh wow! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I know that you're a little disappointed about being prego because you aren't able to lose weight. Don't let it get you down. Just think about the weapon you have in your pocket once you have baby. You'll be back down to this weight in no time. Plus you've had time to learn.

Congrats anyway. I LOVE babies! This will be number three for you? and like everyone else said, keep posting. I like that you and cyd have kept the board moving!

I do love babies, too! I am thrilled to know that MF exists, and next time I wont waste as much time after I deliver to start at least doing 3 meals a day, if possible while I'm nursing! It is nice to know it's here! ;)

I heard back from the TSFL nurse today-suggesting that I needed to talk with my doc about the amount of artificial sweeteners in the MF products in relation to a healthy level during pregnancy. I put in a call to my doc, and forwarded that information. They told me they would PREFER if I just stuck to eating a healthy diet, but if I chose to add 1 or 2 MF items a day, that would probably be okay. As they explained, many people continue their pregnancy with Diet cokes throughout the day, etc...

So, bring on the berries. I've really missed them and hope that they might make me feel better. Another weird pregnancy food for me-Nacho Cheese Doritos dipped in Cottage cheese... I always figured it's better than just the chips  At least there's some protein in there!

Hmmmm....and one would have to suppose it's better than a typical chip dip, too! :D

Summer, I'm proud of you for staying focused on health right now. Weird cravings or not, MF meals during pregnancy or not, you are staying focused on taking care of yourself now so you can take care of yourself afterward. It is inevitable that you are going to gain weight over the next many months, it kind of comes with the territory. With that said, you've learned much over the last month that will help you and I'm glad to see you taking that forward with you.

Noting what you mentioned earlier, it really is shocking just how crappy bad foods make your body feel when you've successfully rid your diet of them for a while. Whenever I encounter a MF nay-sayer, I just shake my head and smile because I know that when I'm on and 100% compliant my body runs better than ever...and if I tossed away that amazing feeling for a bowl of ice cream, I would be heart broken and have one hell of a gut ache. And, for the record, ice cream is positively my favorite food in the entire world.
