I'm sitting here half asleep, but I just had to congratulate you on your NSV at SAL's.

Now, I can go to bed happy! :snooze:

Thanks for the kudos! Coming from someone who loves Mexican food nearly as much as I do, that means a lot!

BTW... where is Sal's? ;)

And thanks for the acknowledgement... it is my favorite, as you know. Once we all make goal, we will have to visit each others favorite locale. Mine is in Brentwood (almost halfway between our two locations - closer to mine though).

Thanks, Silver Fox!
You are just too cute! I totally picture you just like that icon...with your little sleep hat on, just snoozin' away!
:snooze:

Mike ~ Sal's in in Selma, which is 15 miles south of Fresno. Nowhere near either of our locations (certainly closer to me), but maybe we can get together sometime when you're visiting your SIL, or is your sister? (Diana's SIL, anyway!). Once we reach goal, of course!

Oh, BTW...I might just make it to Benicia next weekend after all! Yippee! Can I do a tentative RSVP?

Sojo, yours is one of my favorite journals to read and yesterday I finally read all of it. You have a lot of insight and I enjoyed every post. Thank you for being so faithful in writing in your journal and sharing your thoughts.

Why, thank you, Ms. Tawanda!
I appreciate that very much! I don't know about the being a faithful journaler part, I go for long stretches where I'm all over the boards but not in my own journal ...but it sits there, patiently awaiting my return!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Today (Sat) is my wedding anniversary. Six whole years! That sounds so funny because we've been together for 19 years! (yeah, we took our sweet time... ) No big plans, just spending time together. We might take a drive into the city (SF) and kick around there for a bit...that's always fun. Maybe Monterey, or Santa Cruz, or even Yosemite. It depends on what we feel like when we get ready to leave!

Modesto may not always be the most exciting place to live, but it IS within close proximity to some very beautiful and interesting locales. All of those places I just mentioned are only from 90 minutes to 2.5 hours away. Cool, huh?

Well, if I'm gonna' do anything at all tomorrow, I'd better go to sleep. Here it is Biki o'clock...but I just completed all of my homework (that I won't be doing tomorrow) and just thought I'd pop on here and see what y'all were up to. DH is copping and won't be home for another hour...he's on a weird detail tonight where he's guarding the Ambassador to Iraq, who happens to be visiting our fair city for some conference or something - :?: Anyway, once he gets home, he'll need his beauty rest too! Then we'll head out on our adventure!

Have a great Saturday everybody!

Biki, Tawanda, Jonna, Lizabette, and Katie...thank you all so much for the annie wishes!
We had a wonderful time after all, though we wound up staying a little closer to home. Like, in town! SIL called first thing in the morning to say that a friend that she and DH had gone to school with was in town, and would we like to join them later for a backyard BBQ and to reminisce? We did, and had a great time. The day was absolutely beautiful, and the company was every bit as comfortable and warm as the weather. Lots of laughter, lots of old stories...that type of thing. Good people.

Then yesterday we got up bright and early, took a drive up the hill above Jamestown and Sonora and let the dogs frolick in the forest. We sort of camped out with out staying overnight and hauling the tent and all that gear (including my raised aerobed, which I take when we're camping! I know, I know...but hey, I have a bad back! And, hello?? We sleep in a tent! How much more rugged can it be?!). It was very relaxing, and the crisp mountain air was like a tonic.

So...back to the grindstone ~ I have a test today, tomorrow, and a scary mid-term on Wed.
I may not be around much until after that...wish me luck!

Hasta!
