Weight is down another 5.5 pounds this week to 160.5.

I have gotten a work out today with tending to the horses and helping my brother load 3/4 of a cord of wood onto his truck.

The bad news -- my mom had to go back in for another emergency surgery today. She had some benign lumps removed from her breasts a couple of weeks ago. That night she had trouble with internal bleeding. All seemed to be going well, but she had pain and lots of swelling again this morning. Dad rushed her to the hospital again and turns out she is bleeding again. She is in surgery as I type this. Anybody that prays, I would appreciate you saying a word for her. Thanks.

Your mom is most definatly in my prayers, Rodeo. I pray they can get that bleeding under control and your mom can continue her journey back to good health.

Hugs,
Gina

Well, my mom came through her emergency surgery well. She is now in her room and all wrapped up to prevent further bleeding.

While I worried, I cleaned the barns and carried in some firewood. We usually use a wheel barrow, but I chose to walk an arm load at t time. I spent about a half an hour walking back a forth from the shed to the house with wood.

Just finished my lean and green. Time to take a break and just chill for a little while.

Your family is in my prayers. The way you just keep on working when tragedy occurs really impresses me. Shows a very strong character.

Thanks Biki - I really didn't think about it until I was done, ya know? My options were to head into town for a banana split or stay home and worry. Since I chose to stay home, I decided I should probably get some things done instead of just worrying about what was going on. I am finding that since I am learning not to turn to food for comfort that I am turning to activity instead. All the energy my nerves create will even give me the shakes if I don't do something to work it off.

Mom seems to be doing OK right now. I am just scared because she had her original surgery 2 weeks ago. That night she had a bout of internal bleeding that took her into emergency surgery. Now here we are again, 2 weeks later and she had to be rushed in again. The whole thing is pretty frustrating.

Thanks for the prayers.

Hi Brenda

Just wanted to say congrats on your 5.5 this week and I hope your mom gets on the road to recovery soon.

I enjoyed looking at your pictures. You daughter is beautiful. She sure looks a lot like her mom!

I hope you have a great week. Stay strong!

Thanks for the encouragement Tracy. As you can tell I am pretty proud of my daughter. She hears all the time how she looks like me and I think it bugs her because she is so thin and I am well - not thin - I keep telling her now that at least I know I will be beautiful when I am thin because I can see it in her.

Well, it is 10:30am and I have been able to tend to the barns, throw down 8 bales of hay, do two loads of laundry, vacuume the upstairs rooms, take a shower and get caught up here. When my daughter gets home from school we have to go pick up 1200 pounds of horse food and unload it into the barns. My dad is on his way to pick up my mom from the hospital. I am hoping to get the sheets on her bed changed before they get home. So I have a full day planned, but I feel better being busy then just stitting around feeling sorry for myself about how tough things are right now.

I don't think I will have to plan a work out for today. :D Well, that bed will not change itself, gotta go....

Yeah, I think you'll be OK to skip the formal workout today. :) The physical work you do amazes me! Especially considering you've done all that by 10:30 and I'm still in pajamas. You are right....the laundry's not going to do itself. I'm off....

Have a great day!

Thanks Biki - it is shaping up to be a pretty day. I may just go for a walk anyway just to enjoy the sunshine. I am sure Tucker would enjoy time at the arboretum too.

What is really funny is when my parents tell people that I don't do anything to help around the house. Ok, when Mom is well, it isn't my fault she gets to everything before I do. I guess she thinks we have a ghost that just can't let go of doing chores so she does it in the afterlife too. I really don't mind, the horses are such great creatures to be around. I get hours of mental therapy and I don't have to pay by the hour for it.

Oh, BTW, I didn't say that I got dressed to do all that stuff. I was in my pajamas until after the shower. The horses don't care what I am wearing as long as they get fed.

Rodeo, mom is in my prayers. Glad to know she's doing better now. I hope things settle down for you. It's awesome to see you turn to activity instead of food. What a strong woman you are.

Sure appreciate the prayers! Mom is doing well. They took the drain out this morning so I think the pain that it was causing will now subside. God has been near us all weekend and even now I can feel His presence is near. That has to be what is keeping me from completely falling apart.

I worked on my daughter's truck today after I did my chores in the barn. Changing a 2 fricken light bulbs has never been such a royal pain in the butt. Anyway, I am feeling kinda frumpy and lazy today. I woke up with my ankle throbbing, but I still had to get up and get the chores done. Funny how grumpy Baby Scout gets when he doesn't get fed. The other ones don't seem to mind as much, but that spoiled brat wants his food on time or he is just a grouch!

Since I was working on the truck and I didn't have any supplements with me I had to substitute 8 ounces of 2% milk for a meal. I hate doing that, but I didn't have a choice.

Well, the sun is out and the sky is blue so maybe I will take Tucker for a walk at the arboretum and see if I can kick this blue mood I am in right now.
