My hubby did the same thing!! When I started MF, he decided to watch what he was eating and cut back some, too. When my folks came to visit last weekend, they kept commenting on how great he looked!! Not fair!! I'm so happy he's watching salt and cholesterol, though. Maybe we'll get him off the blood pressure pills eventually!

We've been renting since we got married a year and a half ago. He was married before but neither of us have ever owned a home. I know it's better to invest than to pay rent, but I'm always scared the taxes or payments will go up unexpectedly! At least with rent we always know what the payments will be. We do a lot of our own repairs and fix-its, but it's nice to know the landlord is ultimately responsible for major repairs.

It's unfair how men can lose so easily isn't it?? :x

As for the home thing, I understand your hesitation Stacey, but the payments will never go up unless you get a mortgage that does that, like an ARM or interest-only loan. If you get a fixed rate loan it will never go up unless your taxes or insurance does, and then it will only be a small amount.

It's not for everybody though! Usually owning a home is more expensive than renting monthly.

Since I started Medifast my 61 year old husband has started running half marathons and running 7 miles several mornings a week! He is in great health though. He rides his bike almost evevywhere and is a vegetarian. I still get worried though.
Edit: Update-he just told me he has signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon. Argh!

My hubby too is trying to lose weight. They have some weigh off each spring so that they can get 'buff' before summer. He did lose like 8 pounds the first week but hasn't said much since that - that was like a month ago. He usually fizzles out.

Tonia - when I sold my house 'for sale by owner' we rented a storage unit and put a lot of our stuff in storage. Our house did not look cluttered and we took down any personal pictures/photgraphs of family members. Everything was cleaned from top to bottom and I even put orange glow on the hardwood floors. We then had an open house every Sunday until it sold. It took less than 30 days - but then again that was 3 years ago. It's a buyer's market now whereas 3 years ago it was a seller's market. I hope it sells soon.

Good luck to you too, Tonia! Sorry that things on the forum were not handled more equitably. :x I've heard from other forum members that they've received nasty PMs from certain members so there is obviously a problem here.

Take care of yourself. I'll probably connect with you on the official MyMedifast site. You have passed along some good and vital information and you will be missed here (though not by all  which is most unfortunate).

Peace and Blessings :rose: ,

Hi Pashta,

I am new but find your posts really helpful so hope to see more of them :)

My husband is the same way: he just decides to lose some weight and it falls off of him in a week! Two workouts and his muscles are popping out a gain. So unfair.

Hey Biki, you should go to the Marine Corps Marathon to rah-rah your husband on and enjoy the view - all those cute Marines!! (my husband is a former Marine but that was loooooooooong ago - VietNam).

I'll be there but that doesn't mean I'm not worried. I love Marines too. Before I was married I spent two nights in the barracks. :-P Gawd, I was a drunken slut!

Pashta - I supposedly posted earlier this morning in your journal but it's not here - I must have clicked the wrong button.

Anyway, I just said that I'm glad you're going to stick with MF in whatever way works for you and I hope you feel better about being on another forum. And enjoy your beautiful babies - they really are gorgeous kids.

If you come here, we'll read it. If you don't - or even if you do - good luck with everything!
