Pashta

Postby Pashta » March 19th, 2007, 6:48 am

Well, today is my first day back on Medifast. I am sooo happy to be doing this again. My first attempt was halted due to an unexpected pregnancy...

Ladies watch out! Medifast can make you ovulate erratically!

Anyway, I had a beautiful baby girl so now I have 3 kids, 2 of which are only 15 months apart. At least they will have each other to play and fight with LOL! No more surprise babies cause we took care of that permanently. ;)

Now I am only 3 pounds away from my start weight last time, so I am very happy about that, considering I had the last baby a month and a half early! Makes the weight loss so much easier on me... phew.

I don't have much time to post in here anymore, two kids under two sure takes up a lot of my day! But I will check in at least every Sunday for weigh-ins.

Baby is fussing so I have to go, glad to be back!

You are preaching to the choir, lady! After reading a story similar to yours a month or so ago (maybe it was your story), I barely let my husband kiss me anymore, let alone anything else. I am super paranoid about getting pregnant - I would LOVE another baby, but I want to reach goal first. And my cycle has been very, very erratic since I've been consistently compliant with MF, and I used to be someone you could set your clock to almost literally.

Babies are such a blessing, I know - enjoy your young ones and all the time you can possibly spend with them. Hopefully a year from now I'll be about 2 months along.... :)

I try to stick to having sex 3-4 times a year and using reliable contraception. I think I'm pretty safe. My dog is loving daughter enough for me.

I have five cats, too (down from 6 - we lost the oldest last Christmas) - and my mother wanted me to get rid of them when I was pregnant. She was sure I would have no interest in them once my daughter arrived. But I have to say, they were my 'babies' first and I still love each and every one of them!

That said - I am still eagerly awaiting 3 or 4 more biological babies someday. Just not yet.... I will not be one of 'those people' who tells you your life won't be complete without kids. I was perfectly content to never have kids - until I had one. And I used to get so sick of people telling me I was 'getting old' and my clock was 'ticking' and all that other patronizing garbage. So I won't say any of it. Love your feline and canine babies - you'll get no arguments from me! (My vet actually says when I have to pick up a cat from them "Sugar G.'s mom is here to take her home." That's when I knew they were the vet for me.)

Sorry to hijack, Pashta - how are you doing, anyway, since this is after all your journal!

LOL! Nice to read about the pets. I would never get rid of my kitty just cause I was pregnant! Actually, we got a kitten when I was pregnant with Zack (hormones I guess). He is the nicest cat I have ever had or met. Hubby and oldest son clean the litter box so I didn't have to worry about that disease while I was pregnant.

My first day yesterday was easier than I thought, but I was physically hungry most of it, with my stomach growling like crazy. I guess I should have had one of the allowed snacks but I made it without it. I wonder if today will be easier? So far it seems to be, but I am getting hunger pangs again now and I just had a shake an hour ago. *sigh*

I can't WAIT till ketosis sets in and the hunger goes away.. I remember last time getting a HUGE dose of energy when that happened, it was great!

I was wondering about water... I have this huge 32 oz mug I got from the labor and delivery dept when I had my son and I am using it to measure my water. I only need to drink two of these a day to get the recommended 64 oz, but I do add a little bit of ice to it so I hope that doesn't mess up the amount. I think it doesn't matter anyway because I drink more than that but I'm curious about it. If anyone knows, please speak up.

Some people on the boards drink half their body weight in ounces of water instead of just the 64. For instance, if someone weighs 200 pounds, they might drink 100 oz not 64.

Hi Pashta!

The kids keep you busy, huh?? You know what they say, 1 feels like 1 and 2 feels like 3!

I am a beginner-beginner here, but my own personal experience so far has been:

1. The more water I drink, the better I feel and the more energy I have.

2. The more water I drink, the less hungry I am (in fact, I have zero hunger when I drink my water consistently throughout the day). When I drink my water, the MF meals satisfy me plenty. No cravings.

3. When I don't drink water, I get REALLY hungry.

4. When I don't drink enough water, I tend to get so hungry I eat anything, and I don't mean MF

5. I felt better when I drank MORE than 64 ounces.....that half your body weight in ounces worked pretty good for me, but I drank a little more than that.

I should print that out and Remind Myself of those little tidbits of info!!!

Have a great week - we can Do IT!!!

I drink 96 ounces of water per day..that's about twelve 8 ounce glasses. That really helps to FILL me up..lol!...and i never thought i'd EVER say this, but i crave water sometimes too..go figure!

Love,
