Okay, I'm tired of being cold!!!!

Postby dede4wd » March 15th, 2006, 7:19 pm

Hi all,
I'm finishing day 15 on the 5 + 1 plan. My hands and feet are so cold I don't know what to do! I'm working in Florida and I'm in sweats and a sweatshirt! I have the heat on in my hotel room. Will this ease up soon or do I have this to look forward to for the next 74 lbs? Before I left my house, I touched my dog with my feet in bed and he yiped and ran away! So much for a breathing foot warmer! Can anyone help me???? I've resorted to heating up some of my program water and I'm obviously wearing socks, but if I whip out the gloves at work, someone's gonna put me in the looney bin because everyone else is in shorts!

Just for the record DeDe, it IS pretty cold here in FL right now and I too am FREEZING. I do hear a lot of people complain of being cold but it very rarely bothers me. Just tonight for some reason...think I might borrow your dog?

You are too funny. I love your wit. Many times on a VLCD it will make you feel cold also if you are drinking your water cold that could also drop your body temp. I have found that I was really cold at first but it has gotten a little better.....or maybe I am just adjusting to it who knows! I am in Florida too and I drive my family nuts because I keep turing the air off and feel fine while they a sweating like crazy!

Thanks Marseilles and Lisa!

Well, you could borrow my dog, but she's in Arizona right now! I was gonna post a picture of my 100lb furball, but I don't know how! She has a lampshade on her head because she's tearing at her paw stitches...think they make lampshades for us MFers? We could make them wide enough so we can't get our hands to our mouths! Who needs peripheral (sp?) vision anyway?

I'm gonna call downstairs and ask for an electric blanket and see if they call the men in the white suits with the white van!

I've been on this for nine months now, and I'm still much colder than I used to be. I used to drink water only when it was cold, and now I much prefer it at room temperature. I also choose mostly hot Medi-foods, which helps some.

The good news is I'm hoping it'll help me get through the hot summer in Texas more comfortably.

WEll,

Postby dede4wd » March 15th, 2006, 9:08 pm

Thanks Lora. I totally got my thyroid tested before I went on the program, Dr said it was normal. I got that done first because I have an uncle who is hypo and an aunt that is hyper. Hair is good, skin is good, I checked the symptoms. I just have been REALLY cold (hands and feet) since I started the program.

I've been pretty frozen (although it has been snowing here lately, so that might account for some of it ;) ). Sometimes, if I'm too frozen, I'll take a really hot shower to get my core body temperature up a bit. I've also started wearing gloves in the car; seems like if I can get my hands warmed up to begin with, then they stay that way for a while. Moderate exercise has also helped. I find I'm colder on the days I'm more sedentary.

But if this is the worst I have to deal with to get myself into those size 8 jeans, I say bring on the ice cubes!!

lol...I dont know how anyone deals with winter these days! And to think I spent the majority of my life braving Canadian winters!

Ah, how I love this state! ;)

Id like to just chime in that thyroid disease sucks...having been extremely hyper and hypo at different times in my life until finally having a total thyroidectomy, I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy! Oy!

DeDe, what kind of puppy do you have?

Okay, now Im just being chatty...have a blissfull day everyone! And stay warm! ;)

Just for the record.......if we're gonna start loaning out dogs Marseilles is NOT on the top of the eligible list - she already has 2, LOL.

I have a 17 pound cat..........he's pretty good about sleeping on my feet.....

Try drinking some hot tea or the MF cocoa. I find that a nice hot cuppa can give me some relief, and I get to hang onto the hot mug for awhile!

I used to have trouble with really bad night sweats--sometimes I had the a/c set to -60 and was still hot! Now, I can sleep through night very comfortably at "normal" temperatures. My housemates are very pleased. They love MediFast, too.
