Newbie in the house

Okay after many diets and yoyo weight gains I have found my way to medifast by way of my doctor. I went in for a full blood workup mainly becasue at 41 I have never had my cholesterol checked. While during my initial visit the Dr. mentioned Medifast but suggested we talk about it on my follow-up visit after the test results were in. Well I am happy and shocked to say that my blood work came back with flying colors. My cholesterol levels were well within the normal range. However weighing in at 336 fully clothed at the Dr. office was NOT within normal range for a middle aged 5'9" male.

So after a consultation with the Dr. I decided to give MF a try for a week... I go back to the Dr. for another visit this week. So far after day 3 I am doing okay....seeing some results. But I got to tell you the Easter candy for the kids is freakin' killing me today. Easter dinner at the inlaws went so-so. Kept it as close as I could but I can definitely say no jellybeans or chocolate bunnies were consumed by me.

Anyway...I plan to continue on after my first week and we will see where that takes me. Don't have a firm goal weight pegged yet just concerned on being sub 300 to start. Sub 200 is probably the ultimate goal if I had to answer that question right now.

So glad I found this forum....looks like there are a lot of people here who care. though I do see that being a male I seem to decidedly be in the minority.

You have a very wise Dr to point you in the MF direction and this forum is the most supportive you will find anywhere and these wonderful people have kept me going more that once!

Ask any questions you have and just scream for help when needed and there will be someone here to help!

Congratulations on having a good doctor, and all your great test results.
So guy, just stick with the program and us, and we'll help you get to the sub 200's. :yes:
