Need info on returns

Postby sandys » May 29th, 2006, 3:48 pm

Medifast Customer Service is closed today, but I know you guys are there for me 24/7!! So maybe any of you who have done returns can reply:

I ordered the 4 week pkg, not knowing what I liked or disliked. Well, there are several things I don't like and want to return. When it says "unopened, unused products" does it mean unopened boxes or unopened envelopes?

And I also noticed I was shorted 2 hot cocoa packets. Do you think they will send out more product or just return my money?

Does it really take 4-6 weeks to receive a refund? I'd like to order more of the products I enjoy before then.

Man, I wish there was a Medifast Store down the street to shop at!!

(Made it through day 4. Finally adjusting a little. I should say my body is adjusting. If I could just get my head to follow!!) Hugs to all!

Not sure on the returns. I know my packages had a slip but I did not want to wait the weeks for a refund. Did you check out the Swap n Shop section on the forum. We do a lot of trading of products we dont like. Might be a better idea. I have swapped with quite a few people now with no problems.

Good luck on your weight loss journey.

Hidy Ho, Sandys ~

I’ll do my best to answer your questions.

Re:
Well, there are several things I don't like and want to return.

Sometimes people receive products in the Variety Package that are not their personal best. When that happens, I always suggest that they take a peeky pooh in the Lean Cuisine Web Room just to see if they can find a recipe from one of our great Forum Friends that they might be able to try.

Sometimes adding a few spices, mixing something in the blender with ice, simmering on the stove top, etc. can be just what’s needed to help make a Medipacket more pleasing to our palate. Then we know what to order the next time and what to avoid.

You may want to set aside those foods you don’t care for just yet because many times people discover that they like something after they’ve been on the program for a few weeks. However, after four years of using Medigrub, I still can’t hack the Swiss Mocha or the French Vanilla powdered shake mixes. Gagaroony :puke: but if those were the only flaves I have in the pantry, I’d plug my beak and suck ‘em down because I’ll take thinny over my former flabbiness any day !

We also have the Swap & Shop Web Room that Lori mentioned - it's great!

This is a wonderful resource - perhaps if you mention what products you would enjoy trading for, there may be someone out here in MakeMeThinnerAndHappierLand that will swap with you.

When it says "unopened, unused products" does it mean unopened boxes or unopened envelopes?

We may return unopened packets or boxes of Medifast products as long as it is done within 30 days of purchasing them.

Here is the Medifast Return Policy in a shakerjar (nutshell):

Medifast customers are responsible for paying the return shipping costs. Medifast will not reimburse the shipping costs to customers.

You will receive a full refund on unopened, unused products that were purchased within the last 30 days.

The returned products must be in a package with a postmark date within 30 days of the purchase date. Be sure to include the invoice order number on the outside of the box when you return it to the company.

The company asks that customers fill out a short Return Form with the following information. If you've misplaced the form, this is what they wanna know:

Your Name and Customer ID #
The Order #
Date the Product Shipped
Are you a Medifast or a TSFL Customer?
Your address
Why you are returning the products:
Don't like the product?
Don't likie the program?
Medical Reasons?
Reached weight goal?

This is the address that you use to return products:

Medifast
Attention: RETURNS
601 Sunrise Avenue
Ridgely, MD 21660

If you have a Health Advisor, they can help you by making the appropriate calls for you.

The Take Shape For Life Customer Call Center Phone Number is 1 – 800- 572-4417.

If you do not have a Health Advisor because you ordered through Medifast Diet, then please call Medifast Diet at 1 – 800 – 638 - 7867.

And I also noticed I was shorted 2 hot cocoa packets. Do you think they will send out more product or just return my money?

If you did not get all 7 packets of a product in its box, I would definitely tell the Customer Call Center at Medifast Diet, they will do their best to assist you. They will most likely send you two single packets of the Hot Cocoa.

Does it really take 4-6 weeks to receive a refund?

Yup, it really can take a while to receive a refund. I have never been able to figure this one out myself – when we use our credit card to buy something at a store, the money gets sucked out of our debit account immediately but it sure does take a while to have the $ credited back to our account.

This is true when Medifast processes credit returns, too – it takes time for the funds to reverse. My experience is that it occurs within two-three weeks – the product needs to be returned to the warehouse; logged in, documented and disposed of - Medifast never re-sells product because they want to assure each client that they are getting quality food, straight from the FDA-inspected facility, not something that’s been stored in someone’s garage, etc. Once the returned items are accounted for, a credit is issued and then the banks do their ‘bank thang’ and voila! Ya gots yer $ back.

(Made it through day 4. Finally

Congrats! It will get easier. And a lot more funner, too – as the pounds melt away, you’ll have a Mediblast along with the rest of us shakers and thinners!
