Little victories...

All that hard work and now what? Let's talk about how to keep those pounds off...

Didja ever notice that in my avatar, which is a pic of me, I'm covering one ear with my hand... ??

Now that you mention it............................YES. You see, I am trained to pick up on the smallest of clues even when I don't know exactly what I am seeing. Remember I teach middle school kids. I have to be on my toes, constantly.

Hey Donna (dlr2424), did ya check out the new emoticons? I love the couch one. (see below)

Angelia~~ you better look out. You are gonna bust a gut. Then again, I wonder how many calories you can burn by laughing so hard you could cry? :dunno:

I'm sure someone on here will be able to tell me.

Rae, welcome home!!

We seem to have the best times with the threads you start.........they never seem to stay on topic for long, do they?

Your responses were PERFECT.........the initial one, then the one about the avatar.

I am having so much fun on this forum since most everyone is either showing their sense of humor........or at the very least, laughing at the funny posts.

Ya know what? I saw an article a while back that said laughing hard actually works the stomach muscles AND burns calories. Which of course is a good thing!!

I will probably keep calling you Rae for the most part. I am used to it.....and it is the shortest of all the names you seem to have, requiring less typing on my part.

Hope you had a great time with your mom last weekend.

Actually Dean, most of my students are taller than me. Some are much taller than me. I am only 5'4".

Rae~~That should put you close to the 40# club huh? Don't I wish I could lose 18# laughing. I would probably have gotten to goal a long time ago.

I also read somewhere you could lose 1# if you double-click your mouse 6 million times. :dunno:

Donica.......I guess I am confused as to the age group of middle school....... it is different in different places I guess........I looked up the average age for a Missouri Middle Schooler.........and it said 27 years old.

hehe........just joshin' ya my friend!! At 5'4", you are 3 inches taller than my wife Heidi.

El Red Ear.........I have decided to keep my three letter name for you........but instead of Rae, I will call you "Red". It is the least I can do since I noticed you went back to ALL the posts you have ever made on the forum and changed your sig to "El Red Ear". Wow! You must have been up ALL NIGHT!

Dean

Note to all reading the above post: Please don't tell me that Red didn't actually go back and change all the posts she has ever made. I know she didn't. She simply changed her sig in her profile, which then universally changed all sigs in all her posts, both past and present. I was teasing her. I write this because there are those among us who LOVE to point out my mistakes. Right Donna?...hehe

Sorry, Christi, I am totally in the dark. I haven't seen that movie. I know what it is about, but haven't seen it.

Dean~~I like that.......27 average age ........HA! I actually teach 7th and 8th grade students ranging in age from 12 to 14 I guess. Some of my 8th graders are 15, and I'm sure you can guess why. I love teaching, but sometimes it is nice to have an adult conversation. Some days I just can't wait to get home so I can talk to my DH. When I got my Master's degree in 2001 I thought I would want to stay in the classroom until I retired, but I'm not sure I can stand being called "Dude" or "Dog" that long. :kool:

D~~I bet you are getting so excited about your trip. I know I would be. Hey, how long are you gonna be gone? We'll be sure and start a thread about you while your gone. ;) Oh, and don't forget to bring us ALL something back from Jamaica.

Hi Rae, just checking up on you. You are a role model for me as you are at my goal weight and I'm watching your journey for when I get to maintenance. Thanks for continuing to share with all of us your victories and even your failings. Keep brazing the path! :runner:
Blessings, Bess :)
